  1. Do we get a tax refund for being denied the wisdom and intelligence of the CBC for this time out?

  2. What did John Bolton say about the UN? Something about if the top 12 floors dissappeared, no-one would even notice?
I guess I am trying to say that the blackout didnt effect me at all, except that I am paying for it.

  3. If you hadn’t mentioned anything I wouldn’t have known. Infact, CBC could have been off air this entire week and I wouldn’t know.

  4. Perhaps the CBC staffers should volunteer to shovel coal into McGuinty’s coal fired power plants…
Alternately, one could place a lump of coal in their shoes.

  5. Good to know a Billlion bucks buys a back up system. I hate the CBC as mmuch as everyone here but one would figure they could actually help out in the event of an emergency. Guess not.

  6. Hopefully this power outage slowed down the CBC’s socialist communist evil anti-Christian agenda for a day.

  7. Just thinking that when ONT begins to experience more power failures (shortages) as a result of Premier McGuinty’s flawed energy policy, how will remaining available energy be rationed? Will things like the CBC be deemed critical infrastructure so that they get power? Can Ontario Energy even direct available juice to specific blocks?

  8. Hm, I remember exactly where I was when Lucky Lindy landed in Paris,V-E Day,V-J Day, Kennedy’s assassination, but I completely missed this far more important event!
    Must be getting old.

  9. I live in Saskatchewan. I was making a ham sandwich topped with Heinz mustard and ripe olives, two slices of tomato.
My girlfriend Lulu was reading Chatelaine. I said to her, “Lulu, do you realize that the power has just gone off at the CBC headquarters in Toronto?”
She looked through the pages of Chatelaine and said, “Gee, that’s funny, it doesn’t say anything about that in here!”
Lulu is blonde, strikingly cute, and corporally endowed.
I said to her, “How about we get to bed before the lights go out?”
She looked at me with her sky blues and said, “Ok big guy, but you’d better bring a flashlight!”
This mroning, Lulu kissed me, got up, and went and put the coffee on, then we watched Canada AM.
I love Lulu, she loves me.
    Now we watch CTV.

  10. That’s strange. All those those CBC employees sent home because they could not turn on their computers had no effect on the broadcasts. But the rabid comments on the CBC website dwindled dramatically. Hmmm.

  11. How much time will be spent during Question Period to get to the bottom of this latest scandal?
I am sure that the PMSH will be blamed for cutbacks in Federal funding which would have been used for the commission, analysis, round-tables, engineering, fabrication, permit applications, environmental assessment impact studies, by-law infringement waivers, carbon footprint calculations, price-fixing anti-trust violation payouts…(just to name a few) of the construction of an emergency back-up electrical generation system!
The Ceeb doesn’t have emergency power? You have got to be kidding me?!! Bureaucrats workmanship at its finest. Pinheads. All of them!!!

  12. Considering the state of Ontario’s power system, they really should have a better plan for blackouts. I know that it would hypocritical for them to install fossil fuel powered generators so the CBC might want to look for an alternative backup system here.

  13. Commented this on the CBC site @ 1:25pm EDT and got this;

Thanks! Your comment is awaiting moderation.
    CBCless in Canada says:
Never noticed any difference. Intentionally avoiding anything CBC for over a decade now may have something to do with it.
Avoiding anything CBC , other than forced tax contributions to the $Billion annual slush fund, that is.

  14. The only time I would notice any thing happened at CBC is if it affected the hockey games on Saturday night that I wish were on TSN or SportsNet instead of CBC.

  15. My comment is awaiting moderastion. Wanna bet it doesn’t get published?
    “Michael H Anderson says:
12 hours Canadians were spared the flood of elitist/socialist propaganda that spews forth from MotherCorp. Should happen more often.”

  16. Could there possibly be an association?
“If a tree falls in a forest and no one is around to hear it, does it make a sound?”
    and…

A power outage that has dragged on for over 12 hours crippled the CBC’s broadcast centre in Toronto for most of the day.

  17. Ditto, Phantom.
I feel just awful for the 2% of Canadians who watch the CBC.
Of course, I feel worse for the 100% of Canadians who are forced to pay for it.

  18. My wife works right across the street and I drop her off every morning in the shadow of their cathedral.
Distracted retarded sheep cross the street with more understanding of the laws of self preservation then the average Ministry Of Information drone.
    Go Water!

  19. I was waiting anxiously with remote in hand eyeing the clock, minutes seemed like hours, calling 911 brought little relief, the soothing voice of I’m Peter Mansbridge and your not was my only remedy.Sorry about that,I was chanelling mouth.

  20. Oh,and by the way,how could anyone possibly get on with their day without the wisdom of George Stopaplatapuss?

  21. What to do in that nest of limp wristed millies with no lights? Only a svend could imagine. Keep the lights off, this bunch looks better in the dark, since they have been there since their inception.

  22. Nope, no luck getting through their moderator today. You’d think the CBC honchos would have a few wind turbines on that roof by now – crikey, what a waste of all that hot air circulating around that building – where’s Dr. Fruit Fly when they need him?

  23. how will CBCpravda organize a “Welcome Back Khadr” parade for young Omar and the bagladies when he is repatriated if the lights keep going out.
CBCpravda “All Khadr All the Time”
    1400 Khadr stories and counting.

  24. Heh. I cannot express how much I was amused by the above comments, considering that the CBC is utterly irrelevant.
I wish I could have been the first to say something about the CBC being off air, and who knew?
But those before me have said it all.
The tragic thing is that we are paying over a billion dollars annually for this crapola network.
