American conservatives are discovering that by confronting the left directly, in open intellectual warfare, they can win. The day of the appeasing, cowed, double-talking conservative “may” be coming to an end, at least in America:
Let this episode be instructive to all who witness it. The noise and bluster we see from these pre-fab sign-holding, flag-waving malcontents is the beginning and end of their argument. As soon as any intrepid citizen-journalist engages these pre-programmed agitators with a question or two, they reveal emptiness and contradictions as quickly as Sky did.
I’ll give this polite yet confused Obama supporter credit where credit is due: At least he didn’t call me a homosexual like his peers in Chicago did.
Like their messiah, Mr Sky speaks but doesn’t really say anything. I also agree that the lad gets credit for not turning the conversation into ad hominem attacks when unable to give facts.
I thought Andrew Breitbart’s commentary was incredibly well written.
What I found enlightening/illuminating is just how shallow Obama’s political support really is. We knew these puny protests were astroturf bused in and paid, but when they must resort to transferring minor players prodigious distances….
This explains why unlike the TEAPARTY the left never holds simultaneous protests continent wide.
They seem to only have one team of participants……It’s like the Cadbury add….chasing the same cows in a circle….

The irony of Shaggy’s sign and his call for “civil debate” appears to have gone a little over Shaggy’s head.
I call this Web 3.0. Critical thinking. The left has always banked on the power to suppress the “next question,” and we used to sit silently and wonder if we were the only ones who were thinking it.
Now we know we are not. They are going to have a long time on the drawing board to figure out how to come back from this one.
My guess is a play for control of the internet.
The hypocrisy of the left is astounding, and they’re obliviouis to it. When GW was in power, it was almost unpatriotic to support the government, now its “hateful” to oppose the government.
Obviously ‘Shaggy” has many concepts he’s confused about. His definitions of what constitutes a “liberal” and what is “civil” and what a single sided argument/ideology is are at best foggy – and this is one of the articulate ones. This type usually try to dominate web site commentary or take a roll as a cyber warrior for the Obamanation.
Usually the Dems recruit inarticulate thugs to astroturf like union drones or hood rats from methadone clinics. This is real Dem astroturf. They have no concept of any larger ideals other than they have been told Obama will give them free stuff taken from the evil ‘rich’ and those who oppose Obama want to take their (yet to be reaklized) ‘free stuff’ away from them.
After one of these anti-intellectual Dem astroturf demonstrations breaks up there must be pools of drool to mop up.
I have a two-part comment:
1. In this particular video, I don’t think that Mr. Sky was anything like some of the mindless extremists I’ve seen in other videos. I also know a whole lot of conservatives who think that Glenn Beck’s rhetoric is over the top and not helpful.
2. I’ve looooooong known that one espousing conservative views will win the day in any discussion with a Leftist because the former is based on common sense intellect whilst the latter is based on an immediate emotional response. Plus, about 90% of Leftists I encounter know little to no facts, little to no history, and little to no understanding of the views of their opponents. Talking with them about issues feels like a heavyweight boxer jousting with a 5 year old snot-nosed boy with a temper tantrum.
Lefties are jealous because the genuine grass roots is the Tea Party. All Lefties have is Astroturf.
Same thing here in Caledonia. CUPE and Mohawk Warrior thugs on one side protecting their illegal smoke shops, John Q. Public on the other side, OPP SWAT in the middle with their riot gear… facing John Q Public and getting hit in the back of the hear with rocks and bottles.
Just more clues that the Ruling Class is doing their ruling against the will of the people and to the detriment of the people.

Yes, Sky’s is a very familiar refrain from the left: “I can’t really dispute anything that you are saying, but you’re a meanie.”
Harper gets it all the time: “He’s a control freak.” “He’s scary” Very little substantial criticism, just vacuous statements like that.
I really like the way that Andrew Breitbart called him out on his inability to actually say he was a Liberal. It wasn’t until Andrew told him to say he was a Liberal that he admitted it. “Say it proudly.” It’s easy to see that these people are not proud of anything… they are just blobs of mush that don’t really stand for anything. Ask this guy whether Obama should cancel Bush’s tax cuts and he will respond by saying something wishy-washy like “we can have that debate.” When will these dopes get to the actual debate part? If you have to tell someone that they are in the middle of the debate, right now, what’s the point really? Sure he will stand around holding a sign, basking in the attention that he is getting, but it is almost a certainty that he will not contribute money to the Democrats. He will blather on about “civility” ad nauseam, but he is exactly the type who wouldn’t stoop to pick up garbage after a rally.
Shaggy doesn’t realize that people not knowing “what Obama thinks” is precisely the problem.
Even at work Ive given up trying to reason with these nuts. I just show them how stupid their ideas are in front of others. Using facts not wishes. Gets a laugh every time. For me, not the leftist.
Most drones have no idea what they believe nor what to say except the, ever never ending Socialist talking points .
Which have all ossified into extinction events for not working, or out right emotional stupidity.
Relativism is the communists biggest weakness. It goes against all nature or reality.
