Newsweek magazine’s Ben Adler writes…

(Glenn) Beck says he and his overwhelmingly white followers are the inheritors and protectors of the civil rights movement.

…as if, despite the last 800 years or so, it’s a self-evidently ridiculous thought.

    Its an interesting observation but a very limited point.
    It is a way to try to delegitimize the Tea Party, even though there is nothing racial in their proposals the oppononents try to make it such by saying it appeals to only white people. Of course now they are saying, predominantly white people….code for saying that any non white faces in the crowd are “Uncle Tom’s”.
    The racialism of politics is done by the other side not by these guys. I dont agree with everythign the “Tea Party” is for or against but the systemic propogandizing against them is incredible to watch. I saw the same thing against the Reform Party, even the Conservative Party. And as the SGT says, coming from the predominantly male, white leadership of newsrooms and other political parties makes it quite difficult to stomach.

    It appears MLK’s niece got his message but it looks like the MSM is still stuck on counting colours. It is in fact the progressives who create group identity politics instead of equal rights being the goal.
    This is the same game you see the progressives play with PMSH when they used to say “see, see he can’t control his rednecks, the Conservatives are dangerous because the rednecks will rule the day”. Now when PMSH controls the message and the brand (as any CEO must do) they say: “see, see Harper is ‘controlling’ his caucus “.

  6. I think this could work for us. From now on, just prefix “predominantly white” any time you mention the Liberal or NDP parties, any major news organization, the White House administration, any of these fellow travelers that insist in trotting out the race card all the freaking time. It’s true, after all, and robs the meme of any punch when people realize it doesn’t mean anything because it applies to just about everything save the predominantly black Congressional Black Caucus or the predominantly black NAACP.

    He said that INDIVIDUALS (he said nothing about skin colour) who think for themselves, who search for truth and facts rather than opinions, and who have a sense of humility (i.e., acknowledging that they aren’t a supreme authority) – are the ones most capable of civil rights interactions with their fellow citizens.
    The fact that attendance at the rally was predominantly white, although there were indeed some black people had nothing to do with Beck and everything to do with the brainwashing of a generation of black people by the civil rights movement, by people like Rev. Wright, Jackson and Sharpton, by NAACP and affirmative action. This has set up a mindset in black people that they are a collective rather than individuals responsible for their own welfare and progress. They have been told, by Black Liberation Theology that they are all hapless victims of ‘the oppressors’ (who must be shunned and derided and avoided).
    They are told that Big Govt will look after them – they are not to lift a finger for themselves; it’s all ‘owed’ to them. This has left them essentially passive and expectant of support. They wouldn’t go to a rally that was based around individual self-affirmation and responsibility.
    The Tea Party has three basic axioms: limited govt, lower taxes and fiscal responsibility and adherence to the Constitution. These all rest on individual responsibility and freedom. The Black Liberation movt rests on big govt that essentially supports, fully, a whole class of people who do little for themselves, and high taxes of ‘those rich white people’. Therefore, this brainwashed set of black people wouldn’t go to a rally that promoted the opposite of what they’ve been led to believe is ‘their right’.

  12. Seems the predominately white MSM are trying to stir up a racist response in America. Rather than report the event as Americans gathering in a common theme, they bring in race. A white demonstration against a black president.
    I like how the black lady in the Reason TV clip responded when asked how she felt being an African American among the crowd. She without hesitation corrected him by saying she is not African, she is American.

  14. Ask friends and neighbours at random: “what percentage of US citizens are black”; you’ll likely get an answer of 30 plus percent. Any TV commercial or serial episode will show you that a group of three people will contain one black person, a group of five people will contain two black people, and a group of seven will usually contain two black and two other non-white, even if the setting is Minnesota.
    So I guess any other paradigm becomes “overwhemingly white”

  15. As a colored man, I find the concept of deliberately collecting and parading specific quotas of colored people to “show” you aren’t racist extremely insulting and objectifying. I’m an individual with worth, not some number for f’ing liberals to exploit for their personal gain.

  17. Adler is obvious addled again – a genetic condition like dyslexia which effects guilt ridden eastern Lefties.
    A) Beck said no such thing,
    B) if we’re talking civil liberty and civil rights we must go back to the protestant jurocrats of England. Yes, enlightened liberalism and civil liberty was invented by old dead white guys.
    C)If we’re talking abolition of slavery and equity under law, it was the reformed Christian church combined with Locke-J.S.Mill-Bastiat civil libertarianism which created the movement in Britain and the colonies to abolish the african slave trade and the trade in indentured servitude – both black and white slavery were abhorant to reformed Christians and libertarians.
    D) WE note that within the parameters of factual historic context, atheistic, post modern social engineers writing for eastern liberal magazines had absolutely nothing to do with the civil liberty or civil rights won in America – again that was old dead white guys who believed in Christian ethics.

  20. CBS reported that they had hired a consultant to count the crowd and that the consultant had concluded that it was 87,000.
    Would some blogger (breitbart, Tucker Carlson?) please endeavor to find out who the consultant was and query them on how they came to that conclusion?
    My suspicion is that there was no consultant – that the CBS Washington bureau pulled the number out of its collective (and collectivist) socialist a$$. Much like the ethereal reporting that the “n” word was shouted at a black congressman.
    This could be another dan rather fiasco for CBS if handled right.

Yeah the irony of all this leftist racism is the inconvenient truth that OBOZOs direct ancestors(Kenyan blacks) were the very element that the predominiently white Royal Navy had to inderdict to end the slave trade in eastern Africa. That old dead white guy, David Livingston spent more time suppressing slavery than exploring.
    Arabs were openly slave raiding villages in Africa as late as the 1870’s….
    Officially outlawed in Saudi Arabia….it continues today especially in Sudan and Congo.

  28. This is something set up by the left.After all,the left(Demorats)fought the hardest against the Emancipation Bill.
    I thought it was funny at the time….myself and my wife,both white,went and sat at a table in the mess that was all black.One of the guys pulled me aside and said it wasn’t a good idea for a white woman to be sitting at a table of black men.I asked him in amazement WTF are you talking about.He said that it was not looked upon nicely in the States.I told him I don’t care what effing colour you are,we are both serving members in our forces,and we can sit wherever and with who ever we wish.
    Outcome.My wife and I were welcome at ANY blacks house,but we were sort of shunned from the white houses.This was 25 years ago in LA.
    Seems much hasn’t changed.

  36. I once worked with an American who said, “When I was born, I was a Negro, then I was Black and now I’m an African-American and nobody has ever asked me what I want to be called!”. Last I heard he was a full colonel and he got there on merit, not his colour.
