  1. Not sure but he used to be NDP and worked for Bush. He did oppose the Republican response to HealthCare and that probably got him turfed as a paid member of a think tank. A little too RINO for them maybe.

  2. Not many rent a blacks in that crowd.
As trudeau once said, the 20% doesn’t elect me, the silent majority does. Blacks are kinda like muslims, do as the extreme demands or we will make you pay, so they stay silent, until voting time that is.

  3. Louise, in a nutshell Frum is one of those ambitious, careerist, putatively conservative hacks who advocates compromise *no matter what is being compromised*, i.e. he advocates compromise as a good thing in and of itself. If Hugo Chávez was US President, Frum would draw his reasonable compromise line equidistant between the Tea Partiers and Chávez, and he’d portray those on the Tea Party side who are unwilling to compromise as having views that are “extreme” and “counterproductive” and “harmful to the conservative brand.”
I’m glad he’s guest-posting at Sullivan’s blog – he’s getting a little closer to his political home. It would be great if he’d physically cross the Atlantic as well, and stay there.

  4. “SarahPAC ad. Kind of remarkable to see a Republican ad with not a single nonwhite face in any crowd scene.”
    David Frum,on twitter

    What a goof!
I remember 20 or so years ago riding the Spadina bus southbound into Toronto’s China Town when our boy Frum hops on at the Bus stop in front of his daddy’s office at Spadina and Bloor st.(probably picking up a trust fund cheque LOL).
Low and behold Frum walks past me and sits down near the back of the bus amongst all the “nonwhite faces”.
Within 2 minutes of him sitting down a few of those “nonwhite faces”(young black women to be exact) started making fun of his nerdy,”nebbish”,whiteboy looks and demeanor.
What a RINO a-hole he is!
Maybe David Frum should do something useful and go over to 125th street in Harlem,NY at MIDNIGHT and recruit some “nonwhite faces” for those Sarah Palin ads,see how that works out for him!

  5. Those idiots asking about Palins credentials? Where were they when Obama was running with no more experience in business or govt than a civil servent,if as much.

  6. EBD is right. Frum seems to have become a “progressive” conservative. Compromising with the left ultimately means adopting their policies as they keep moving the bar further out. Feeding alligators comes to mind. Helping Eichmann only delayed the date of feeding the ovens.

  7. His book about working with Bush is quite good – then when Obama won the nomination he totally lost his political compass and was blinded by his man-love for Barack, advocating republicans move to the centre, be more left-wing, etc etc. So, how’s that worked out? 😉

  8. David Frum’s a turncoat. His distaste for Sarah Palin both gives him away and is unbecoming in the extreme.
He actually had the audacity to write a National Post column in April about what women “don’t want”. Hmm . . . they didn’t seem to want anything conservative.
I guess he and Danielle are just too used to going to the right—sorry!—cocktail parties in Washington.
IMO, David Frum, poor, little, rich, privileged dissembler is now an altogether empty, compromised suit.

  9. Frum is also saddened by the Repubs failure to do sufficient outreach to the undocumented.
He feels that this is now necessary to secure power.
He’s a Rockerfeller Repub I think. Country club cat. Terrible snob. Remember the snit about Bush’s nomination of Harriet Myers for the Supreme Court — inadequately credentialed [read: no Ivy League degree]. He’s evidently not been briefed on WFB’s cogent observation about phone books vs. the Harvard faculty.
And oh, he’s highly respectful toward Cass Sunstein, whom Beck — correctly I believe — describes as the most dangerous man in America. Ya see, he took a course from him! Sunstein wants the gubmint to monitor and squelch rumours, which as we all know can be very rude and gauche.
Agreed about this mother. Fine woman, as it happens.

  10. David Frum is officially a parody of David Frum.
By the way, doesn’t he have his own website? Since his ideas are so awesome and he is so smart I don’t understand why he needs to go to other websites for publicity.

  11. David Frum used to be a regular National Review contributor.
Like Chris Buckley, who also got all tingly about Obama, Frum stepped down from NR involvement—they were probably asked to.
What limp-minded appeasers. (And I’m sad to type that.)

  12. Barbara/nose up Turdohs a.. Frums fat little boy has not given up trying to be relevant when he isn’t. David your mommy along with Dolton Nash could not have licked Turdoh clean, although they tried their best, time for you to shut the …. up, your best before has long since expired.

  13. Kate, thank you SO MUCH for finding this gem and posting it! Others have elucidated very well what a pathetic RINO David Frum is. He is clearly representative of what’s been wrong with the Republican Party for some time now and why so many Americans are fed up with it.
His on-air debate with Mark Levin is famous. You can listen to it here.

  14. Frum has always been a pretender, it is essential to him that he be on the winning side, on the side of power. National Review better off without Buckley Jr. Jr., and Frum, though it certainly has lost the humour and spirit it had while the founder was alive. Oh, and I never cared for Barbara either.

  15. There are no non-white (black) faces in that crowd, not because they aren’t welcome, rather I have noted since Obama was elected that most blacks don’t like white people much.
Could it also be a case of “likes attract”? I know that’s just an old human nature thing, but I don’t believe Sarah has banned non-whites from her circle of supporters. I think many of them who may want to join up are just afraid of what the left would do to them if they showed up at such an event.
I have to think that most black mothers care about their kids too.
By the by, I saw what looked like Hispanic women in that clip. They are tricky, not all that non-white, must freak the leftist bigots who hate Sarah for being white and female and right about pretty much everything she says.

  16. Frum and Sullivan are both real conservatives. Take some time, on your own and without being spoonfed Kate’s propaganda, to read up on why they’ve made the choices they’ve made in the last few years.
Oh, and Frum a pretender? From one W’s most talented and visionary speechwriters?
    Idiots.

  17. TrueBlueConservative – Frumsy didn’t even come up with “Axis of Evil” on his own; by most accounts, it was “Axis of Hatred” before someone improved it for him.
Does he have any other claim to fame?
Noone considers Frum a conservative anymore; everyone just figures he’s a guy who likes getting invited to Washington cocktail parties.
And if posting obsessively about Sarah Palin’s reproductive bits in order to prove that she’s been lying… about… oh, hell, whatever point it is Sully’s trying to make… is something a “Conservative” does, well I’m turning in my plaque. Truely, I pity him – I figure the men in white coats will be coming for Sully soon. There is such a thing as Aids related dementia, and there is such as going loopy on too many meds. At any rate, there’s something going on there.
TrueBlueConservative, what position do either of these men take on any issue that could reasonably be considered “conservative”?

  18. For TBC: In the National Post, in April, Frum wrote an article, “What Women Don’t Want”—as if he knows! (And as if all women want the same thing: what a foolish conceit—a feminist one too, BTW.)
I’m a conservative traditionalist woman, and it turned out that I actually want the very things David Frum said I don’t want. Why would that be? Well, because he sounded just like a feminist—like the kind of lefty woman he and Danielle rub shoulders and party with, on a daily basis, inside the Beltway. One doesn’t want to get on the insiders’ wrong side, does one?
As I said before, Frum’s a turncoat. TBC obviously disagrees: I invite that person to prove me wrong.

  19. True Blue Troll
    Frum is a Con?
Dream on leftie. This is one serious individual who doesn’t know if he has been punched or bored.
David snorts too much Cocktail Cocaine. Has to get to the ‘Best’ parties so principals be damned..a true liberal “which way are the winds blowing” kind of “Guy”. Reading his last posts, the “Guy” description is in question.
