Why this blog?
Until this moment I have been forced to listen while media and politicians alike have told me "what Canadians think". In all that time they never once asked.
This is just the voice of an ordinary Canadian yelling back at the radio -
"You don't speak for me."

Just another Central Canadian biting the hand that feeds, clothes, warms and transports him.
To be honest its almost been a year since I used them regularly as a news source anymore.
I don’t know why? But the whole tone of the news aggregate changed to one of liberal sounding insolence. While trying for 6 months to keep up a Conservative veneer. That stopped a few months ago, around the time Jaffer was being rightly hounded.
If this is a cynical ploy to avoid censorship in the future or just a change of Political bent. This Blog should have stated their new position.
Oh well, I had already booted them off my fav’s.

I still browse, but barely read. Just today bourque had a headline screaming that there were lots of head advisors to Harper abandoning him. I checked the link And it was nothing like as disastrous as the headline made it out to be.
Scurrilous.
So if Bourque is now “finished”, why was he ever relevant?
Been feeling the same way about Bourque lately – the site has gone sour.
I have noticed that about Bourque lately as well. He hasn’t changed his anti-Conservative headlines in months. I gave up on National Newswatch a long time ago, now its Bourgue’s turn. Have to try the Sun News website next.
I remember reading M. Bourque’s bio several months ago where he stated he was formerly an Ottawa city counselor as well as a failed Liberal candidate (imagine that). Of course it’s harder to find that information now, but you can look here:
http://www.pierrebourque.net/bio.html
Or here:

(I hope that last link did not get wrapped)
Maybe another SDA reader can confirm that M. Bourque is indeed a federal liberal?
Bourque? I gave them the heave ho a long long time ago.
Borque who?
Bourque…. All Liberal..All the time…
Bourque = zero zero
When Bourque had a right spin I found it to be the same, just hot air and hyperbole to the max, chicken little type headlines. I stopped bothering with the site quite some time ago.
So where is a boy to go? Bourque’s 24/7 fixation on the G-Summits (like the G-Spot?) is the last straw. Any suggestions?
Bourque is a Matt Drudge wannabe, without Drudge’s savvy and clout. Some of his headers are just plain juvenile.
Bourque is just another Liberal toady…i often wonder how much they are paying him!
Three years now Bourque free …. miss much?
Nope….
Go to the source of Drudges mojo: http://www.breitbart.com/
(HuffPos as well)
Bourque refreshes his page every 240 seconds. I wonder why…
I have every respect for Pierre Bourque and his Newswatch despite any perceptible Liberal slant he may be wont to headline on his stories.
My admiration stems from the fact he has always identified himself.
That is head and shoulders above the likes of the principals involved in the National Newswatch site.
They remain a mystery to this day!
Making them obvious suspects, that they are affiliated with or are the bastard internet arm of one of Canada’s left leaning Corporate MSM.
Bourque is campaigning for Mad Max for PM .
There’s always Newsbeat1
http://newsbeat1.com/
Bourque goes where the money is. The Liberals used to accuse him of taking Conservative money to push the Conservative agenda. Now he’s taking Liberal money. The Liberals just figured out his business model.
Tonight ole Pierre’s top link is to an Ontario Liberal site where a commercial has Dalton McGuinty singing the praises of the HST. It’s queued up immediately upon clicking in.
Bourque pretends it’s about the news, but it’s really about buying the front page. It’s not a question of fair and balanced – it’s about the money.
That’s not really much of a surprise given that the old print media has resorted to similar tactics in an effort to stay in business. Most media consumers know the old media has a collapsing business model but those same consumers haven’t come to grips with the fact that the new media hasn’t yet found a successful model of their own.

I noticed at the bottom of Bourques page he can have anywhere from 150-300 visitors online at any given time.
Any idea what NNW generates?
I don’t have much argument with his choice of political slant. But the constant stream of fossil fuel bashing headlines is wearing pretty thin. If he wants to race cars, more power to him. But he should at least have the decency to stfu about the people who do the hard work to make it all possible.
Just more Libranno “don’t do as I do,
…… do as I SAY”.
I don’t look at Bourque to daily anymore as he has slipped into NNW Liberal mode.
… been using your site for linking to a number of sites (reads) for a long time – DRUDGE REPORT, etc. – noticed your dropping of NNW (although I miss reading Chantal Herbet – seems to have a good head and reports as such) – BOURQUE has been a disappointment as-of-late from what he use-to-be (maybe it’s the gas fumes).

He seems to have come down with a severe case of Harper Derangement Syndrome lately but doesn’t seem that enamoured with Ignatowski either. Maybed cantuc is onto something.
Thanks Kate for pointing out the obvious hypocrisy.
Pierre Bourque is Quebec in microcosm: his story lines are merely a side-effect of his angling for attention in the form of ca$h.
Bourque’s Newswatch is well past being even remotely credible or worthwhile at this point; his useless site now consists of just a couple of greased little for-sale snippets. I de-bookmarked him a long time ago.
I think y’all are missing the key point of the juxtaposition. It’s not about Bork’s political slant as much as it is about his vilification of an industry, when he indulges in one of the most conspicuous shows of excess. Afterall, what could be more carbon-friendly than pointlessly burning all that fuel.
But I’m sure Bork’s ultra-refined high octane gasoline comes from pixieland made by little green elves, not dirty nasty places like alberta.
That boy gives NASCAR a bad name. The lad screwed up the #1 rule: Turn Left (the car dummy, not your politics).
Bourque’s been inhaling the petro fumes, causing him to veer left into oblivion.
You’re absolutely right Kate.
Remember all the whining and snivelling that went on when Montreal/Quebec lost the Formula 1 race?
I thought they would have been happy since bad mouthing Alberta’s big bad oil industry is one of their favorite sports.
But blatant hypocrisy is one of Quebec’s most outstanding qualities and they cried for help (money) from all levels of govt to get it back.
Do as I say, not as I do. Again.
Pierre hasn’t been the same since they renumbered his car to ‘zero-zero’
I visit bourque because he posts pictures of Julie.
This was my email correspondence with Bourque just before I removed him from my bookmarks.

Lets see, a few days ago Harper was a “Rutting Billionaire”.
Now he’s a Megalomaniac.
The only thing I know for sure is that Bourque is no longer a site I’ll visit.
I can get that stuff anywhere in the legacy media.
Good luck with that.

Bourques reply:

Perhaps you should sign up for the conservative party newsletter to get,er, news more to your liking.

My Answer:
Uh huh, No comment on Rutting Billionaire and Megalomaniac? How is this news sir?
Bourque offers a convenient, one stop place to get mediocre Canuck MSM “information”.
Sun News cannot come too soon. As long as it’s not too tabloid like the Toronto Sun, AKA like CTV/Global “Missing zoo animals”, “This man has not receive a welfare cheque this month”, “It’s really wet in Saskatchewan”(Leave weather to the weather channel) or even “This Vancouver man killed his family and then took his life” (Yeah, I sympathise but this kind of info is not going to affect my life. This should be reserved for local news, wherever it is).
I suspect Sun News will have some of this unfortunately. I only hope we will get a superior product than CTV Newschannel or rival CBC.
If we do, it will be very successful and again, blogs like SDA are to be in part thanked for that. We needed a voice in a sea of lefty noise and the PMO finally heard us.
BTW, I voted for Kate and Kathy to be considered at Sun News. Among many others like Adler, Rutherford, Maxime Bernier (Yes Mad max could wake up a few Quebecers), Lorrie Golstein, Clare Goy, Rex Murphy (He has already declined apparently), Christina Blizzard, Lorne Gunter, Mark Stern (He could be our Northern Glenn Beck), Mike Duffy (He could be our Bill O’Reiley) etc…
Torque has been doing this for years, he spins the headlines to the highest bidder. I bet he counts the refreshes as hits.
What happened to your link to Canadian News Reader? I can not seem to get it to connect anymore.
“BTW, I voted for Kate and Kathy to be considered at Sun News etc, etc.”

While RH Terry Tory’s list is extensive, respectfully, I disagree with the exception of Kathy Shaidle, Kate McMillan, Lorne Gunter and Mark Steyn.
The rest on the list do not have true conservative balls in my view.
Personally I would much rather have an ego chastened but unbowed Conrad Black as a regular contributer as is Bret Hume or Laura Ingraham on Bill O’Reilly ‘s Factor, thus adding percipient conservative insight to an “no mush” FOX North.
Adler and Rutherford should automatically be excluded from Sun News. Although they both talk a good game they both enjoy the protection of BIG regulation (the CRTC). I’ve listened to Rutherford spout off his ‘right wing’ rhetoric for years, he has never met regulation he doesn’t like. All the talking heads in Canada are protected by the CRTC. Try opening a 1000 watt radio station in your garage and you will find out what regulation is all about. They may pretend to like competition and smaller government but they love regulation. They are conservative in name only.
