We are born with whomever God gave us for parents and we inherited their ethnic facial features. Has nothing to do with us, in case you’re feeling superior.
If you see a photo of her when she was a young woman, you see that her parents were immigrants from a Middle Eastern country (in her case, Syria).
She has aged as gracefully as she could, and she’s hanging onto her job with the kind of tenacity we could all emulate.
Unfortunately there are many older women who think red lipstick and dark hair will make them look younger. It has nothing to do with character.
To disagree with her views is one thing, but trying to diminish her solely on her appearance says something distasteful about the person making the comment.
I don’t know gellen. Some behaviors are so unacceptable they open up the use of any and all available ammunition. From comments on her appearance to comments on her parentage, Helen asked for it.

Helen Thomas has been a leading journalist for many years and her face and viewpoints have been plastered all over the media ad nauseam. When you think of stupid, vapid and biased remarks; left-leaning clap-trap, that is the face which many associate the cause with.
That is the reference with which I made the remarks. Sorry to have confused the issue for you two. But, taking your lack of understanding into account, you think this is a personal attack on a very old woman who has very shallow thinking and uses her age and tongue for the destruction of the western society without restraint.
For this she deserves all the ridicule and contempt which we can muster.

I assure you, having lived for some time in the Commercial Drive area of Vancouver, that this philosophy is far from extinct in our country.

I – and a lot of peope here I’m sure – think rights need to be *earned* by virtue of behavior. They are not things that are automatically granted, and to think of them that way is to be an *apologist* for terrible behavior.
Israel’s right to inspect ships trying to enter its soverign territory is an example. Israel has endured decades of internal and external war and terror, and has reacted by and large with jaw-dropping tolerance and calm. I challenge you to try to imagine – if you have any power of imagination at all rather than being just a regurgitator of other people’s propganda as seems to be the case – a Canada beset by First Nations people (a poor anology I agree, since Jews were of course on the land millenia before the ersatz nation of “Palestine” ever existed, but it will have to do) who blow up school buses and other atrocities on that order, who are supplied with weapons by, let’s say, the United States and Russia.
The terrorists live freely and incognito in Native communties and are harborecd and protected and given support both moral and material by ordinary native people, making it extremely difficult to tell civilian from combatant.
What do you suppose would be the reaction of our government? Of our citizenry? How long before we closed our borders as tight as Tillie and relocated Native people into areas where they cold be watched? How do you suppose we’d react to boatloads of foreign supporters of these barbarians showing up near our shores chanting “Oh persons of European ancestry, renmember the Little Big Horn!” who refused to unload their cargo in a way we deemed necessary to ensure safety for our citizens – people like you – and who then attacked our peace officers attempting to board and inspect?
Well, at the end of the day I only offer this scenario as a mental exercise, since you’ve already proved you’re as capable of independent and bias-free thought – genuinely *human* cognition – as an ant. If you absolutely must keep leaving your droppings behind in every thread having to do with Jews (ahem!), please do; you do seem to have one talent: letting everyone know, over and over, that Leftism = Nazism. You do our cause great service so I suppose I ought to thank you.
How old is she? 265? I’m sure they let her hang out at the white house kinda like they let grandma hang out at the coffee shop, even though she should be in a long-term care residence. Everyone rolls their eyes at the crazy things she says, “Oh, grandma!”.
I’m sure one day very, very soon someone will sense that it’s time for her to call it a day and be put in the home.

There are people being imprisoned, tortured and killed in countries around the world as I’m typing this and I’m to be outraged about Helen Thomas? I don’t put her on that high a pedestal.
Now, contempt and ridicule for Iggy, Boob Rae, little Jack and ALL at CBC: that’s a different matter.

The Hellen Thomas’ of the world are the reason for those people being put in prison and tortured around the world. When we don’t stand up against tyranny and oppression and individuals’ sovereign rights and responsibilities, then we are to be counted as guilty for not speaking up against these perpetrators.
She has been given the opportunity to speak at high schools, universities, colleges, and many other gatherings where she spews forth her marxist/leftist leanings, which in turn have shaped and twisted the flavor of our society.
As I say to my kids, How do you eat an elephant?, One bite at a time.
Through her writings and speeches she (as well as those in positions of power) has been influencing and changing the minds and beliefs of many gererations.
Think about it; why would somebody that old still be getting up every morning and after painting the barn, go and hang with some of the most powerful people in the world if she didn’t think she was accomplishing anything? She has been changing things, and this clip has proven to many that she is now incapable of cloaking her true feelings and beliefs, truly a sign of one who is better suited to be put out to pasture and watching the sun go down.
Please take the picture down of that ugly man. I would rather poke my eyes out with bamboo shoots than look at him.
