Why this blog?
Until this moment I have been forced to listen while media and politicians alike have told me "what Canadians think". In all that time they never once asked.
This is just the voice of an ordinary Canadian yelling back at the radio -
"You don't speak for me."

Good thing this didn’t happen in Canada, else all the non-thieves would be up on assault charges. The thieves, thanks to the obligatory civil suit, would probably make out like, you should excuse the expression, bandits.
Loverly. As a former resident of Bangkok, I can attest to the group action, instantly deployed, that works to the disadvantage of casual thieves. Out of nowhere appear a hundred citizens willing to beat the shit out of any thief dumb enough to be caught. The kid on the motorbike will: be glad to be turned over to the local fuzz; be lucky if he ever sees his motorbike again (it was wheeled off before he was subdued).
I certainly hope that the purse was not badly damaged ;-)))
No traffic lights, no do not park signs, not a cop in sight and justice was quickly and forcefully served.
Neighbourhood watch…Bangkok style.
I witnessed something like this years back in Nairobi, Kenya. A critical mass of the population had recently migrated to the city. A thief got run down and torn to pieces. It seems the rural mentality was that the thief had offended all. It was swift and brutal. No witnesses or complainants.
There is sometimes merit to simpler more primitive ways.
That is so funny!!
Will IKEA be sued?
More or less the way it should be.
The two policemen observed, when the citizens were done they took them in.
If that was Canada the woman would have been charged with disturbing the public peace and the theives would have taken her to the HRC for calling for help and not having enough money in her purse for them.
social justice.
Tut, tut, people, the hug a thug liberals will be upset.
Just talked with a fellow who was from South Africa.
He knew a fellow who had 2 men trying to break into his home in the middle of the night. Police were called and the men were arrested. While in the police van the two men started to threaten the fellow, with the police standing right there. The perps started to shout that they were coming back to the house and then they would rape his wife and daughters, and then beat him to death.
He spun around and walked into the house, returning to the van and shot both men dead. The police turned away while this was happening, they allowed the scenario to unfold as they knew that the men would make good on their threats and they would have to deal with them again. They chose to have the job finish once and for all.
This happened in a more rural area, so there were no questions asked and so there were no answers that had to be given.
Sometimes there is justice in the world. No need for a witness protection program, these folks got to live in peace, with no fear of retribution.
Good thing this didn’t happen Canada or we would be ponying up millions now for some sort of furniture registry. Actually, thinking it through a bit further, no one was killed by the use of this furniture and it was effective, so perhaps our police could carry book cases instead of Tazers for those non-lethal scenarios.
Walk softly, and carry a large folding chair.
SWEET! On another note, a guy was shot to death in a supermarket parking lot last night – one I shop at several times a week. A targeted hit, they say, in an apprently very busy lot.
Bring…back…the rope.
Proving once again that an armed society is a safe society.
@glacierman: thanks for that uplifting bit of news. Just what I, or any person of honour, would have done. And kudos to those cops.
