  4. True, the photo op is important for any leader and I don’t know what sort of pose they’re supposed to strike. But that wasn’t it.
    Rather than a comforting sense of command, we have a shot of a vacationer on a field trip.

    I’m wondering what it would take for this guy to be tuned in and turned on: Certainly not the day-to-day crises and business of running the biggest and most powerful country in the world. What seems to do it for him is running the biggest and most powerful country in the world into the ground. That’s what turns his crank — and all the perqs of living in the White House.

  6. What saved B Clinton’s presidnecy the first time was the election of of a GOP House in the mid terms. Now Bill was pre disposed to tack with the wind and had no reservations about tacking to the right. The fiscal discipline that house put in place, along with the tax increases that Pres Bush 1 put in place (and lost him the election) laid the groundwork for the nice recovery that took place.
    Obama, has shown more a willingness to sail headlong into a wind and get his rigging decimated…kind of like Jimmah’s.
    Obama will not run in 2012. He had two priorities, health care and the nuke treaty….after that I dont think he cares other than if he can receive further adulation. If he could he would enagage in more redistribution, but at this stage he cant do much.
    I like his drones in Pakistan policy. The fewer jihadis using oxygen the better.

  21. They mentioned a crew was bused in, but no film footage of them. Surely competent reporting would dictate a few shots of the cleanup crew at least arriving and leaving, and at work on the beaches.
    They also mention nearby beaches that were not cleaned up for the media and President, but again show no film of these beaches so we can make a comparison.
    Are we supposed to believe this based on Faith in the media? Lazy reporting.

  27. The ‘anointed one’ was never marketed as a President, he was sold to the American people and the world as some kind of ‘golden’ boy king/god. The Lord of the Rings and the boy king of Egypt (Tut) all played roles in the narrative that the msm (kow towing to the puppet masters of msm) sold to people who did not have any knowledge of historical facts. Undereducated (indoctrinated) people have little or no imagination and are incapable of understanding facts in context because their ‘judgement’ relies on currant acceptable norms.
    ‘Up-to-date (Progressives) sell the lie that the (white) people of the past were ignorant, brutal, privileged bigots. King Tut is marketed as a shining golden boy King who was infinitely compassionate and wise beyond his years (insinuating that youth is the criteria for wisdom); the new President has been ‘painted’ with this fairytale as the optical ‘proof’ (illusion) that we lowly grubs should not question such an anointed one’s motives. Fairy tales are for children; it is to the shame of adults in North America that some returned to their childhood when they went to the ballot box. Believing in Santa Claus is fun for kids and it is fun to be an adult in a crowd of young children who believe in Santa Claus – it is bone headed to carry that silliness to go past the pretense of believing in the unbelievable.
    If people had listened to what the man, B. Hussain O, said before he was elected, they would have known what kind of President he promised to be…Joe the Plumber incident broadcast the fanatical radical wanna-be President’s agenda. BHO’s record was not demanded, in the absence of a record adults should have known they were being duped. The pathetic image of this fairytale man floundering like a beached whale in all areas of responsibility should not surprise any of us – he was marketed as a fairytale boy king who sings to the birdies and lives in a forbidden kingdom (like the Deli Lama, in long ago Tibet). The horrible results of the past American election are now apparent. What remains unknown is the extent of the fanatical agenda of the man, BHO. He has surrounded himself with fanatical human haters (Communists); IMO, it would be a stretch to assume that he does not share the beliefs and the agenda of his radical fanatical human hating ‘Tsars’ I think that he as a man knows exactly what his regime is doing and he approves the destruction of freedom and hope in America and the world. He is given confidence by the pass he is getting by us treating him as a dundering fool who is not fit to be President; his goal is to CONTROL and he does not consider the opinions of the people he wishes to control. He does not care what ‘we’ think of him, he considers ‘us’ less than slugs; he is focused on the big picture, IMO.

  29. There was another outrage this week committed by a member of the Obamagube administration.
    His senior advisor on counter terrorism ….
    During a speech at the Center for Strategic and International Studies, John Brennan described violent extremists as victims of “political, economic and social forces,” but said that those plotting attacks on the United States should not be described in “religious terms.”
    So while I maintain that the ONLY business Obama has in the Gulf spill matter is to keep his effin bureacrats out of the area… he is in fact … doing nothing of the sort.
    He attempts to use the scene as a backdrop for a heroic pose.
    Meanwhile American’s security is being threatened on many fronts from without and within. The very administration that is supposed to be defending them is playing juvenile politics and pandering to sworn enemies of the people and the state.
    These people are worse than incompetent … they are dangerous and constitute a traitorous threat to America themselves.

  34. I disagree, jema54. You are putting too much emphasis on Obama’s having a socialist agenda.
    I maintain that Obama has no political agenda other than to Be Powerful and Be In Control. The fact is, that socialism as a political structure, encourages such a result because it, rather than Conservativism, sets up an Elite Ruler Class which takes all power away from The People. So, Obama, moving into politics rather than being a ‘community organizer’, naturally moved into the Democratic camp.
    AND, into a radical Democratic gang, who do indeed have a political agenda: to insert statism into the US and destroy its basic structure focused around individual freedom, around individual entrepreneurship, responsibility and a middle class based on such actions.
    But Obama’s agenda is personal: To Control Others. He has no intellectual content in his mind; he’s never shown any desire to analyze or debate political and economic systems. His rhetoric on socialism (universal health care, etc) is juvenile and naive – ignoring costs and instead, focusing on its structure as reducing individual freedom and individual power.

    The radical Democrats who run Obama, who got him to run as President, are indeed socialists; they have the agenda of statism.
    They got in Obama, someone who on the surface is extremely charming, by virtue of his narcissistic skills of misinforming (he’s unable to recognize truth); emotional manipulation and accusations that you are the problem if you reject His Will. That got him, and them, in power. But a campaign based only on charm and anti-Bush is only one step.
    The next step is inserting that agenda of statism, and that has only been partially successful and has led to a massive popular rejection of this agenda in the Tea Parties and Town Halls.
    The personality of Obama, his basic hostility to others whom he wants to be subservient to him – such as leaders of the West – has led to problems. His inability to accept criticism has led to no press conferences. His anti-Americanism and his own racism has led to further problems.
    His indifference to real problems – has people wondering what is going on. The Gulf Spill ought to have been dealt with, not by Obama focusing only on blaming BP (and Bush) but by an immediate action of cleaning up. He hasn’t done this.
    What I find puzzling is not Obama, who I think is pretty obvious in his psyche, but the Democratic White House who are so astonishingly inept in every single action.

    Thats where numbers count. It may hurt Arabs for a while but to get rid of Israel I have no doubts Islamists would. Consider how many men they can field , compared to Israel that relies on its war tech?
    It cuts down on the retaliatory factor as well.
    Not that the Muslim would worry about that. They expect it in their end of days eschatology. No worries though when leaders in the West would cry restraint while telling us yet again. “Islam is the Religion of peace”!

  36. I do wish people would stop comparing Oblamebush and Carter. I didn’t agree with Carter’s policies anymore than I agree with Oblamebush’s but Carter at least has a history of service and courage.
    In Carter’s world view there is a hint that he believes there is something greater than Carter. The same can not be said of Oblamebush.

  37. Carter was a bumbling incompetent, but I don’t think there was any malice in his motivations. The present ruling regime, however, seems to be deliberately pushing us towards the moment where they can trot out their shopworn solution called Marxism. I mean, when you look at their actions they are nearly the exact opposite of what you would do if you were trying to bring a struggling economy back to life. Raising taxes and enacting sweeping new entitlements isn’t exactly the way to get people back into productive jobs. Wasn’t it Churchill who said “No civilization ever taxed itself into prosperity”?

    Agree that it’s not fair to Carter, incompetent tho’ he was, to compare him to OHB. Jimmy was and is a sincere man, regardless of how wrong he might be, and is, about much.
