  1. Grace Jones: Perhaps a talent; perhaps not.
When one is (was) repulsed by the image, there never will be a pure analytical assessment of talent or ability. She just doesn’t do it for me.
Give me a Sandra Bullock or Kate McMillan (:~D> anytime!

  2. Hey everyone, I love this site and have been a regular for some time, but I just wanted to announce how happy I am that Kate and Lance have finally hooked up.
I personally know that Lance has been itchin for this for this to happen for some time, (lol sorry guys) and that Kate was maybe a little apprehensive about his soggy waste line (all computer geeks get it). But as good news would have it, there’s more to life than waste lines (my own personal jabs 😉 and this happy couple has given me the permission to announce that they’ve recently become engaged. That’s right, what was already a good blog, is about to get much, much better.
So please join me in congratulating our new couple and the wonderful future that awaits them!

  3. Indiana Homez 3:03 AM
    WOW !! (pleasantly stunned ….)
    Most heartfelt congrats to both!
Take care and wishing nothing but the best to both of you.
    HEH !!

  4. Congratulations, Kate and Lance. What happy news! ‘Any photos?
As for Grace Jones, her first name doesn’t fit the package. Parrot Woman? Peacock Woman? And the quote of the day lacks the eloquence and wisdom of previous ones.
But, does she make a splash? I guess!

  5. Really?!?
Look, are you sure you weren’t up all night swigging store-brand mouthwash again, Indy? It’s okay, we’ve all been there.
But if this is true, then congratulations!

  6. Vitruvius, this is perchance old hat to you, but new to me.
An old friend with a long interest in things Zen, mentioned this on the phone the other day. I really got a kick out of it.

I must gently disagree with an earlier Erik Larsen remark about preferring the new “streamlined” readers’ tips. I liked the more raucous, chaotic if non-compliant version! Any thoughts you might have overdone it a bit.

  7. The anti-Christian, anti-Catholic bigots are lining up in Parliament and it’s getting ugly: cue the NDP’s Pat Martin and the Bloc’s Gilles Duceppe as seen on video on Power and Politics:

    1:14:55 to 1:26:40
Msgr. Dolan acquits himself with dignity, calm, and reasonableness, while Ezra Levant is his usual feisty and articulate self, really giving Martin and Duceppe hell for their shameless and intolerant religious bigotry.

  8. I’m not sure if anyone has picked up on McGuinniss misogynist comment in the WP story, “Sarah should have baked a plate of cookies, and come around the fence, and said hi….”.

    I’m with MND!!

  10. Where is the picture of Vic Toews and his 18 year old mistress and child? I find it appalling that nobody has one. By the way, this is a great site!

  11. I agree with MND and batb – I liked the old format better. Congratulations Kate and Lance!

  12. Wonderful! A little romance on the blog!
    Congatulations Kate and Lance! Pictures?

  13. One of my favorites from long ago is Hi Lilli, Hi Lo from Lilli and the Puppets, staring Leslie Caron.
At the same time, it is an interesting blend of upbeat and poignant sad and Leslie seems too young and naive to really do it justice.
Dinah Shore, on the other hand, was a grown-up when she made this recording of the song:

  14. You know, one would think that people here would have a healthy bit of scepticism.
Especially when the hostess is busy and is in regards to anonymous commentators who, like everyone else, aren’t required to authenticate their “names”.
    Cheers,

Oh, and I don’t think anyone who knows me would call my waist-line “soggy”, maybe with all the rain we’ve been getting….

  15. Homez is a funny guy though. My condolences Lance, on the rain, the questionably soggy gut and the short engagement 😉

  16. For the record, I remained sceptical. My mistrust and cynicism barely wavered. Was that Indy, though, @3:03, or a sock, I wonder?
    (I’m thinking sock.)

  17. I’ve no doubt it was a sock. Another one got caught in the spam filter for some reason written exactly the same but named with ‘Lois’.

  18. Darn!!
But that leaves the possibility open that she doesn’t mind your waistline??…lol
IH (the real one) should be responding soon…

  19. Ok… would the real Homez step forward?
O/T but regarding your last post, I was talking with my Mom today and no mention of the Goracle but the garden is covered.

  20. It’s snowing in Edmonton — and Kate’s not engaged to Lance? Isn’t this kind of practical joke supposed to happen in April?
DARN! I was getting a warm fuzzy feeling; ‘misplaced, I guess.

  21. and I had to be the first sucker!
    (repeatedly banging head on keyboard)
Still wishing the best to both.
    Take care.

  22. Now, it turns out that Kate and Lance have been married for two years! They could give lessons to Hollywood stars on how to keep their nuptials a secret!
