  1. What did these women see in these guys? Something must have changed after the wedding night!!
In the photo that won, maybe the wife’s the big beer drinker?

  2. In the photo that won, I’m pretty sure that man’s not a man, man.
But the babushka thing is just sense; they have a tendency to wander off.

  3. (On the other hand, who would have a babushka harem? There’s a bunch of things wrong with that. Inquiring minds…)

  4. Perhaps too much is assumed just from the picture.
For example, it was perhaps the gals idea that he hold her hand to maintain her balance…she was using him as ballast….
At least he was holding her hand not like the Bosnian–walking ahead—as is proper (sarc).
Then there is the FN custom of women pitching camp, breaking camp, tranporting camp, doing the gardening, the cooking, the butchering, skinning, fabrication of clothing etc…..while the men were occupied with hunting, fishing and war. A little known fact is that the Iroquois (including Hurons)were ruled by women…the real chiefs were women. For the same reason Plains Tribes had Peace Chiefs and War Chiefs. Administrators and Generals….
But then I maintain, in our society, that for most females the perfect man is “A STUPID MILLIONAIRE THAT LOVES TO DANCE.”

  5. Well the only thing I can say is that obviously God is not a man. If God were a man He would have made woman short with a flat head. Short enough for a man to his elbow on and with a flat head so his beer wouldn’t fall off.
As it is we are wonderfully made so that the debate about our roles shall continue.

  6. I like the guy with the bicycle. He’s got his priorities in order.
Can’t you just hear it: “Come on! Its not like you’re gonna RUST, are ya?!”

  7. The photo with the couple holding hands as they walk along carrying beer may in fact be ultra-egalitarian. If, that is, he intends to drink the six-pack and she intends to drink the case of 24.

  8. I’m 6’1″, weigh 265 and can leg press 1000 lbs. My strength is at my wife’s disposal, whether it helping her lift heavy objects or getting rid of the occasional pest.
If I ever met any of the fellows in these pictures I would let the know, in no uncertain terms, that I consider their treatment of their women to be not only ungentlemanly but unmanly.

  9. viktor: One cannot judge the context of a situation from a single photograph. For example the one with the women sitting in the cage and a man driving the cart could be just a primitive example of two women sitting in the back seat while the man drives. Or the man could be a stranger to the woman carrying branches and just happens to be walking past. Or the woman likes her beer and is possessive about it who knows. So please enjoy it for the humor that it was intended.

  10. viktor
my SIL is 6’1″ and 270 lbs
and he’s a little short in the smarts department, kinda like you:-)))

  11. I guess toting stuff on your head is a lost art for western wimmins.

  12. I had the x trained well. Go to my job everyday then do shopping and return home to cook, clean and feed me. Ah the good ole days…

  13. Now send all those photos over to that EKOS dork at CBC. He can forward them to Iggy for the next campaign.
These photos all come from Alberta, right?

We will never know the truth of any photograph, that is the nature of photographs. But we do know the intention behind this particular group of images, which is to belittle women. The humour, if any, comes at their expense. This is obvious.
You ask me to enjoy the humour that was intended. However, I gave up puerile humour many years ago. And, Warren, you will, too, as time goes by.

  15. Come on Mamba, you like the guy with the bicycle too. ~:D
The only thing that could make the picture more perfect is if the bike was a Harley.

  16. Hey viktor if you can’t laugh at other people who can you laugh at? You don’t work for the B.C. human rights commission you?

  17. I hate bicycles.
They aren’t fast enough or visible enough to be on the road.
That creep is probably the guy who’s always in my rear-view mirror, doing, what, 20? – meandering into my blindspot and making it impossible for me to turn in case he speeds up suddenly and I kill him and scratch the car. I’m not surprised he prefers his stupid bike to a woman.
It is my belief that bleetymouth rides a bicycle on the road.
Julie Burchill called them Road Lice, and now I do too.
This is literally one of the things that bothers me most about life on a day to day basis.
Harleys are another matter, of course. A Harley deserves its own tent.

  18. Black Mamba: “Probably.”
Well, some Honda 90’s r better than some wimmins anyway.

  19. Yah, the sleeping-with-the-peddle bike guy is pretty warped.
The coolness of owning a Harley is debatable. Are they lined in front of a seedy bar by night or a parking lot during the day? ’cause the latter was named Mid-life Crisis Alley by the women at my old workplace (the tents are a dead giveaway).

  20. Viktor- I think you have it wrong, Those pictures were not meant to belittle women, quite the opposite. On a different note, I’ve often noticed the bigger and stronger men are, the less likely they are to offer assistance to anyone.

  21. Road lice? BWAHAHAHAAA!!! That’s a great one!
The only bikes out here in Phantom Country are little kids and the tight pants road warriors on skinny tires, puffing their way down the side of the highway.
Little kids are encouraged to ride, but I always give the tight pants crowd a little jab of the throttle when passing if they’ve been holding up traffic. Which they do.
Glasspack mufflers have their uses. A well timed blatt of exhaust can wiggle one of them right off the pavement into the gravel. Them skinny tires don’t like gravel. ~:)
