  1. At least Rudd has two bran cells to rub together and figure things out.
Obamulator on the other hand will go down in flames in 2012 ‘bitterly clinging’ to Gorebull Warming, Crap and Trade, Obamacare, open borders, class warfare and the litany of Marxist entitlements.

  2. Good plan. Put the carbon tax on hold until after the elections and then hit the polluters hard.

  3. Reality is rearing it’s ugly head. I own some stock in an Aussie uranium company. The government however went non-nuke which somehow extends to mining. This changed after the last election and after the next one maybe I will make some money. If not I sell the stock at a loss and they can starve or complain about no jobs. Not in my control.

  4. With apologies to Billy S., an updated version:
    Puck:
    Captain of our fairy band,
    Helena is here at hand,
And the youth, mistook by me,
    Pleading for a lover’s fee.
Shall we their fond pageant see?
Lord, what fools these mortals be!
    A Midsummer Nights Dream Act 3, scene 2, 110–115
The mischievous fairy Puck brings his king Rudd to view a spectacle—what he calls a “fond [foolish] pageant.” Four Australian lovers, lost in the fairies’ forest, have lately been acting very strangely, and Puck is partly responsible. Where Rudd had hoped to reconcile, with the aid of a love potion, the bickering lovers, Puck applied the potion to the eyelids of the wrong man. Before, Helena had pursued Demetrius, who had pursued Hermia, who was in love with Lysander. Now, because of Puck’s mistake, Lysander pursues Helena, and in the meanwhile Rudd has fixed it so that Demetrius pursues Helena too—the result he originally intended.
All this fairy meddling doesn’t prevent Puck from blaming the lovers’ behavior on their own foolishness. As far as he’s concerned, their actions amount merely to a performance put on for the fairies’ enjoyment, while the Climate Changers themselves treat the whole affair with deadly seriousness. Shakespeare’s judgment seems to be that leftism is a form of madness that prompts the marxists to act in very foolish ways, indeed. As Duke Theseus says, global warmists, like madmen and poets, are fantasists, “of imagination all compact [composed]” (Act 5, scene 1, 8). Though their fantasies are irrational, however, they are also acts of creation that produce “More than cool reason ever comprehends” (line 6). Theseus doesn’t wholly approve of the frantic delusions of warmers and doomers, but the poet Shakespeare is implicitly more tolerant.

  5. Good God T, when are you and the rest of the greenie weenies going to get it that carbon is NOT, I repeat NOT a pollutant. It is an element that is the basis of all forms of life on this planet. CO2 is essential for vegetation and, get this, essential for us to breathe. It triggers the breathing response which is why CPR works. CO2 is not now, never has been and I doubt ever will be a pollutant.
You want to go after polluters? Great!! But go back to grade 6 or 7 and brush up on some basic chemistry before you start preaching about carbon and pollution in the same sentence.

  6. Actually T has illustrated beyond any doubt that Greenies have neither knowledge nor interest in science….only politics.
It is beneficial to have him/her/it remind us that it is impossible to reason with unreasonable people.
“The best solution for a non-existant problem is to do nothing.”

  7. Rudd is done. No one trusts a greedy commie to shelve the greatest bit of Kleptonomic robbery since the income tax.

  8. Even NASA is trying to pivot now that they realize Gaia doesn’t follow their climate models, that the last 30+ years of warming they claimed was due to SUV’s & cow farts was really just a regular warming period . . .
“Global records of surface temperature over the last 100 years show a rise in global temperatures (about 0.5° C overall), but the rise is marked by periods when the temperature has dropped as well. If the models cannot explain these marked variations from the trend, then we cannot be completely certain that we can believe in their predictions of changes to come.”
    Bailing on their own models.
Some budgets must be at risk somewhere.

  9. The truth about this bullshit doesn’t seem to be getting in the way of our gutless Prentice… Still forging ahead on his climate agenda. With his head firmly up Owebumma’s ass.

  10. I regularly send emails to Prentice’s Environment Canada politely pointing out serious scientific issues with the global warming hypothesis. I include links to respected atmospheric physicists and peer reviewed papers in respected publications.
Not once have I ever received an acknowlegment let alone a thank you.
Prentice does not get it. He is a CINO. Calgary WAP’s, please start organizing for a new MP.

  11. Guys, T is a troll! He doesn’t believe any of the crap he writes, he just puts it up there to get a rise out of you. Don’t be so gullible.

    Apr 27, 2010; 12:35 PM ET
A widespread frost and freeze will affect parts of the Great Lakes and Northeast tonight and Wednesday night. People who have already planted gardens should take appropriate actions to protect sensitive plants.
The cold air is spreading into the Great Lakes and Northeast behind a storm that pushed through over the weekend. This storm is still bringing rain and snow to parts of New York and New England.”

  13. Well at least he threw the environmental BS out the window.
    Now will Obama & Harper?

  14. Goverments know that co2 in not a pollutant and no matter what we say and do even showing others the truth, their over spending has them so in trouble they have no other choice but to find new ways to tax the crap out of us.Why cut spending when you can just tax more and there is enough moonbats and greenies out there that are riding the goverment dole to keep this crap alive.
Until we as citizens stand up and revolt against the goverment and bearucrates of our nations and get off our lazy asses and vote, things will be same old same old until we have nothing.
Why do you think goverments are trying so hard to disarm the general public!

“Kevin Rudd’s great ETS fraud found out (lies of an Australian Prime Minister)
    Herald Sun ^ | 28th April 2010 | Andrew Bolt
THE great fraud has been found out, and his country saved – for now – from the greatest of his follies.
Here’s the worst lie that Kevin Rudd, perhaps our most deceitful Prime Minister, once told about global warming and his Emissions Trading Scheme: “The biggest challenge the world faces in the decades ahead is climate change.
“It is the great moral and economic challenge of our time.”
But on Tuesday Rudd decided “the great moral challenge” of our time wasn’t, after all.
It was just “a” challenge, he said.
And with public trust falling in his ETS “solution” – a great green tax on gases – he cut and ran.”

  16. And Kevin Rudd’s modus operandi differs from Stephen Harper’s how exactly?
From where I sit, we know that Kevin Rudd is up to no good if he gets the power and we imagine that Stephen Harper will do only good when he gets the power.
I’m against immigration, but if the Australians Kevin Rudd is afraid of would immigrate here and the Canadians Stephen Harper is afraid of would move to Australia, I think I would sleep better at night.

  17. Al Gore’s Weather (AGW): Ah like mah sauerkraut sour like Germans make it real sour.
Another AGW Fraud bites the dust; Germany chokes on Al’s AGW sauerkraut.

    “Copenhagen Fallout
[Germany] Merkel Abandons Aim of Binding Climate Agreement
Frustrated by the climate change conference in December, German Chancellor Angela Merkel is quietly moving away from her goal of a binding agreement on limiting climate change to 2 degrees Celsius. She has also sent out signals at the EU level that she no longer supports the idea of Europe going it alone.
“I have three children,” German Environment Minister Norbert Röttgen said during a speech in Berlin last week, as he ventured to explain why climate policy still remains important after December’s failed summit in Copenhagen. He said that a maximum rise in temperature of 2 degrees Celsius “is the highest amount that we can still tolerate, because beyond that life will no longer be possible as we know it.”
Currently the prospects are not so good that his children will enjoy a life that remains unchanged. True, starting this weekend, the German government will attempt to rekindle international efforts to save the Earth’s climate as it hosts a conference at the Petersberg Hotel near Bonn. But, at the same time, German Chancellor Angela Merkel has now decided to change the course of her climate policy.
As recently as last December she said: “If we don’t succeed in limiting global warming to 2 degrees, then the costs of the resulting damages will be many times higher than what we now, with a change in our lifestyle, can achieve.”
Now it’s a different story: Merkel will no longer endeavor to contractually implement the 2-degree target — in other words, to reach a legally binding agreement with specific reductions in greenhouse gas emissions. She doesn’t want to be snubbed again because she has realized that important countries won’t lend their support the next time around either. This was confirmed two weeks ago at the nuclear summit in Washington by Chinese President Hu Jintao and Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh.
    The Limits of Germany’s Influence
Germany now has to acknowledge the limits of its influence. The country’s climate policy was an attempt to play a leadership role on the grand stage. But the others didn’t follow suit. On paper they praise the objective, but they are not prepared to do more than make vague promises. The only way forward, it seems, is by taking side roads. But even there the Chinese and the Indians won’t simply trot along behind the Germans.
On the domestic front, this threatens to bring down the great symbol of Germany’s efforts to remodel society in line with a climate-friendly lifestyle and mode of production. If Merkel is no longer fighting on the international stage to achieve the 2-degree target, how does she intend to convince her fellow Germans that they have to change anything? A domestic temperature target would be absurd.”

  18. I am all for a domestic temperature target for Canada as long it is significantly above what we have now. Something in the 20’s (celsius) would be good.

  19. James, I agree.
Don’t you know why all the deep drilling has been going on?
It’s been to find the Global Thermostat that the aliens left for us 5 million years ago.
    Don’t be so obtuse!

  20. Well, maybe Rudd isn’t going to tax Aussies into oblivion over global warming, but I don’t see a better alternative in the opposition’s idea:
“But the opposition proposes that Australia cut emissions by paying major polluters taxpayer-funded incentives to reduce pollution and by planting 20 million trees.”
Unless the other party recognises that CO2 is not pollution, the taxpayer is still screwed for naught. Well except there will be lots more trees and trees are nice.

  21. Altaguy:
You correctly assessed Prentice. The really scary thing is he expects to be the leader of the Conservatives after Harper.
