  1. But…but…but…look at all the jobs that will be lost when they shut down the registry!
    So un-Canadian!!!

  2. Whipping a private vote? let’s see if the MSM runs with this calling it anti-democratic…kinda like they did when parliament was prorogued for the 105th time.

  4. The Libs said that the Long Gun Registry would initially cost 2 – 3 million dollars (to sell it to the sheepish Canadians).
Nearly 2 Billion (with a B) dollars later, it still has not registered ALL long guns in Canada, and it still has NO effect on crime…..
The Liberal mental disorder at work in all it’s unmedicated glory.

  5. Does this imply they’re seeing this as a confidence vote? I’m not certain of that, but if it is a confidence vote, and they expect the gov’t to fall, they’d be best checking to see if they have enough cash to rent a jet for the campaign.

  6. One way or the other, I want the liberals to continue their foot in mouth disease and while they are doing it , remind us of their legacy all round: Gun Registry. Sponsorship Scandal. Indian Affairs 15 billion missing ( never accounted for) Sponsorhip money never totally accounted for. The ruin that is the Justice System in this country. And other prime time Trudeau legacies we have do deal with to this day. Let’s scrap Iggy and send him packing whence he came and let these liberals know , once and for all , just how much we hate their legacy programs that we have paid for and have to live with now. And they can take all their media hacks with them.

  7. Chairman Ann Coulter is the goddess of conservatism. She is awesome–just plain hot.
She makes all the hippies and metrosexuals wet themselves in paralytic terror, and their mommy-b*tch solemn as owl feminine counterparts look like the gaggle of silly wet hens they are.
Long live Ann Coulter! We love Love LOVE you!

  8. I see that the sleaze bag Allen Rock has finally lost his capacity to operate as a mentally cognizant air inhaler. He always was extremely boring and he could never hold together a line of logic but now he is just a dithering, drooling old ‘woman’. Time to put the fool out to pasture Ottawa U.
That link was a nasty surprise Kate!

  9. Mississauga Matt at April 20, 2010 4:41 AM:
You’d think the left would be able to present someone better than Calver.
    Sid is funner.

  10. Talk about eternal shame. Imagine your epitaph reading:
    “He was whipped by Iggy”

  11. The Conservatives have fought long and hard over this issue, they should make it a confidence vote. It would be well worth the spectacle of watching the Liberals scuttle their butts out behind the curtains.

  12. He’s another that says we all need to stay in line for health care while he jumped ahead for his prostate surgery while health minister.
Hes the one that said in a CBC interview that he will not allow “high quality” private health care while he is minister. Of course CBC didn’t even follow up to his statement.
Hes the the one that stated that he philosophically believes no one but police and military should have guns.
Oh ya. He came for our health care. Came for our property. Came or our fundamental right to free speech and free thought.
Yes lets build consensus so we all believe and think the same thing. Then we enter Trudaeupia.

  13. “Canadians want gun control that works, and that treats gun owners fairly,” he said. “But we won’t abandon gun control. Not when rifles and shotguns are responsible for half the police officers killed in the line of duty in the last few years. Not when the gun registry is a vital tool that law enforcement uses every single day.”
I see Ignatieff is not above trotting out the same lies the anti-gun lobby’s been using for twenty years.
It’s like global warming, you prove their rhetoric is absolutely untrue, then they wait a week, and spew the same lies again, as if nothing had ever happened.

  14. G, the sig refers to my days sitting behind a 1340. Fred has me pegged though, I push the throttles on a pair of PT6s nowadays…never did fly a converted otter.

  15. Consensus on free speech, collective definition on free speech…now there’s a modern liberal for you. Take a well defined idea and morph it into the exact opposite of its original meaning. It should be a short consultation since the UofO collective already expressed their consensus – only left wing and PC speech/speakers allowed. But, then again, if it’s an Allan Rock design it could run into the billions. All speakers must take a responsible speech course, submit the speech for approval, register with the thought police…

  16. This gun registry is nothing more than another transfer of payments from Western Canada to Eastern Canada and a total infringement on the private lives of our dangerous duck hunters.

  17. I read some of the convoluted unworkable “solutions” Iggy offered. Complete hokum.
Seems the Liberal know less about their draconian gun law than those who suffer under it. The solutions offered by Iggster CANNOT be integrated into criminal code gun law unless the gun law is first repealed in its entirety then rewritten as proposed non criminal statute. We all know that won’t happen so essentially Iggy is lying about a compromise. This leaves as the ONLY motivation to vote against scrapping a costly useless bit of bureaucracy, morbid Librano ego and some sick sense of the gun law being some liberal legacy centerpiece.
Frig you Igg lets take it to a general election then.
Let’s see you tap dance in front of westerners and rural Ontario and Quebec with your inept knowledge of gun law and your lies for a ‘new’ solution. Hunters and farmers are damn sick and tired of being treated like criminals under the false promise of gun control. They have not forgotten who did this to them and they have been waiting to extract revenge against the liberals at the polls. So if you’re stupid enough to dissolve government over the redundant gun registry that a vast majority of Canadians want scrapped, let’s go to the polls over it!
    I dare ya Igg!

  18. “Canadians want gun control that works, and that treats gun owners fairly,” [Ignatieff] said.
I’m sure that some Canadians want gun control that works. I’m also sure that some Canadians don’t want any gun control at all, and some Canadians want gun control whether it works or not. I doubt whether Mr. Ignatieff has any idea how many Canadians there are in any of those categories, but that didn’t stop him from making that generalization.

  19. News flash, Mikey: Those who “live in remote areas” are already ignoring your stupid registry.

  20. So if Iggy keeps the registry can the hypocryte get rid of any and all armed guards?
2.27 % of murders are carried out with registered weapons, so the registry is not even a 10% solution.

  21. Knight99 says “it still has not registered ALL long guns in Canada”
It hasn’t even come close. Not even a majority of long guns have been registered.

  22. John Luft, I’d venture that not even -half- of long guns have been registered, nor even half of gun owners. It was just an excuse to steal money.
This horse is dead. It arrived dead when Allan Rock passed it through the Liberal majority parliament against all advice from RCMP and other police officials. It was dead when the CPC used it as an election issue to beat Mr. Dithers, and its still dead now, with Count Iggula beating on its corpse in the faint hope it will get up and pull his little red wagon one more time.
Harper should absolutely make it a confidence vote. He should absolutely make it the hill the Liberals finally die on, or run away from in disarray shrieking like little girls.
Iggy and the Liberals need a damn good kicking, and this is a perfect opportunity for Harper to give em one.

  23. Accessed 11,000 times a day huh? Yeah, right. Even if it were accurate all they would find was 11,000 gun owners with no firearm convictions. I still can’t believe that people are too dumb to understand that the people who register their guns are NOT the problem.

  24. This collective concensus of what constitutes free speech at the UofO should be a hoot. I hope that someone posts it when it is finally approved. Enforcing their ‘new and improved’ free speech should be a lot of fun also. What are they going to do,have people walking the halls monitoring conversations?…Hmmmm, hold on….

  25. So when the bill was first tabled why didn’t Iggy offer up these amendments and adopt the bill to give it a faster passage, why wait for third and final reading to try to stop passage?

  27. The only comment from the first link says it all. Plus it’s a safe bet when a cop opens his mouth he’s lying.
