On O’Reilly tonight, he interviewed raving moonbat Cathy Areu (a magazine publisher who apparently shops at Walmart) who had said: “Sarah Palin could do no wrong for so many people. I mean, she is a female Larry the Cable Guy minus the class and intelligence.” O’Reilly pressed her as to why she thinks that way and it soon became clear why. She could hardly hold back her conniption fit while yammering away at O’Reilly, almost in tears I’d say, over Palin making 12 million dollars since June last year while she “had to wait in line at Walmart”. Someone else’s good fortune, as usual, reduces leftists to such rancour. Sad. On the other hand, it looks like she approves of President Larry the Cable Guy,? an improvement over the current one no doubt.

I hear all this tripe from left wingnuts about how much money people make. My neighbor HATES successful business people and he is a left winger who worked for the govt all his life. I’ve come to believe that they are basically jealous of sucessful, wealthy people.
That pretty obvious in the O’reilly interview.
That has been my experience too. Anyone with money is a bad person that has all these particularly bad character traits, no exception, they’re all bad…until they meet them and spend time with them, at which point they become confused because they found them to be nice people that were kind, considerate and polite.
Successful business people look for opportunities to back people with winning ideas.
We never heard about this venture. Did GE buy the patent and then sit on it?

The funeral in Poland drawing in many world leaders will be a story worth our attention.
I have been following an aviation forum thread about the Smolensk air crash and there are many strange features to this event that could begin to come to the surface as the funeral ends and reports are issued.
It’s not only about the conspiracy or no conspiracy angle, but the perceptions of various parties thereunto. After all, World War II was started by a faked event on the Polish border that was probably the subject of much speculation too. Not saying this was a faked event at all, but who stood to benefit?
The most intriguing detail so far — Lech Walesa, object of scorn in the Kaczynski camp, was a no-show for the flight. I had not heard that he was supposed to be going, but it was claimed by someone from Poland that he was one of two no-shows at the airport.
God’s hand on his shoulder?
Anyway, I realize this is not the hotbed of religion that some other places might be, but one would be wise to consider this event and others in that sort of framework, for I perceive that we live in a very portentous age.
Why, Osama bin Laden even has a facebook page now. Hurry up, you could be his friend perhaps. But how to chat with such a personage? “Any new jihads?” “Negative, old jihad in new phase.” “Seen any good films lately?” “I rather liked our in-house production, Mosque of Zorro.”

Climatologist says ongoing eruption too small to cause concern”
Climatologist David Phillips notes the volcano isn’t finished yet, but it shouldn’t have any effect on Saskatchewan’s summer.
“I think people will still be drinking beer on outdoor patios, and it won’t be ruined by an Icelandic volcano,” he says. “It’s like Mount St. Helens (in 1980). “Break Out The Borscht: Jewish Tea Parties Coming?
They said it would never happen. They said it couldn’t be done. But Jews — who have cleaved to the Democratic Party with a ferocity unknown to man or Icelandic volcano since the signing of the Magna Carta or the inauguration of FDR, whichever came first — are slowly (inexorably?) beginning to drift away from Barack Obama.
According to a poll published this week by McClaughlin & Associates, 46 percent of Jewish voters would prefer someone else than Obama in the presidency, compared to 42 percent who would re-elect him. That’s only a meagre four percent separation, but that number is stunning considering Obama got 78 percent of the Jewish vote in November. That’s a difference of 32 percent between now and then. Has there been another voting block with that large a swing? There may have been, but I doubt it. Something is clearly going on here.
Now I understand these views are fluid and could switch back again. Habits are hard to change, longterm habits even more so. I’m sure the Democratic Party is banking on that. All loyal subjects come back in the end. But considering the Obama Administration continues to pressure Israel in such a mindless, almost primitive, manner, it’s not entirely unlikely that this swing will continue, even expand. As I wrote the other day, Obama’s attitude toward Israel and its leadership is excessively personal. Many Jews can see that. How could they not?
And it’s not just the President.”

Walkom: Was Afghan torture a deliberate tool for Canada?
We don’t know, they’re not saying.
Yes, the interpreter’s “explosive” testimony that we were “subcontractors” to torture because we, gasp, turned terrorists (sorry, as Colvin says, some innocent farmer who just happened to fire a weapon) over to the sovereign power.
Just as the previous Liberal government had agreed. Well, what did they think was going to happen, oh the calamity of it all!
Next at the “committee”, the cook and the interpreter’s other brother Achmed, who knows the torture allegations are true because, well his brother told him, and it all makes sense anyway.
Maybe the “committe” could call a soldier who actually is on the ground, you know, taking prisoners. He/she could describe the painstaiking efforts they make to ensure “detainees” are treated humanely, and how 95% are released within 5 minutes.
No, that wouldn’t be “explosive” enough. Instead we should call a public enquiry, with Ujal Dosanj presiding, with the following terms of reference “what if they did it (what, no torture, c’mon).”
I know, the public doesn’t believe our soldiers are war criminals, but the interpreter, flanked by the Islamist lunatic Attaran (can Michael Byars be far behind), would wish us to deny military personnel basic equality under the law that they demand is provided to the Taliban.
It’s disgraceful. It’s like expecting our soldiers to win a hockey game when they must play by no-hit rules while the Islamist team can hit, hook, slash, spear, chop and butt end anytime they want.
What is with these enablers anyway, like Rick Salutin and his woefully idiotic comparison of this affair to what happened in Somalia.
Yes, they’re ignorant of what the military does because they don’t care, or agree with military action anywhere anytime for anything.
Because the public doesn’t care either these twits get away with the worst kind of innuendo rumour smear. It just rankles me.
Thanks for letting me vent.

Here’s a marvellous commentary by Mark Steyn on Obama’s ‘non-proliferation of nuclear weapons’…during which he has totally ignored Iran’s busy agenda of proliferating its own ability to develop nuclear weapons.
Steyn titled Obama’s Summit as The Happy Fairyland Security Summit, which indeed it was..
“Iran has already offered to share its nuclear technology with Sudan. Sudan? Ring a vague bell? Remember that “Save Darfur” interpretative-dance fundraiser you went to where someone read out a press release from George Clooney and you all had a simply marvelous time? Hundreds of thousands of people have been killed — with machetes. That’s pretty labor-intensive. In the Congo, five and a half million have been slaughtered — and again in impressively primitive ways.
But a nuclear Sudan would be a model of self-restraint?”
“By the way, that’s another example of the self-indulgent irrelevance of Obama. The mound of corpses being piled up around the world today is not from high-tech nuclear states but from low-tech psycho states. It’s not that Britain has nukes and poor old Sudan has to make do with machetes. It’s that the machete crowd is willing to kill on an industrial scale and the high-tech guys can’t figure out a way to stop them. Perhaps for his next pointless yakfest the president might consider a machete nonproliferation initiative.”
“The Obama Happy Fairyland Security Summit was posited on the principle that there’s no difference between a Swiss nuke and a Syrian nuke. If you believe that, you’ll be thrilled by the big breakthrough agreement of the summit: Canada, Chile, Mexico, and Ukraine have agreed to reduce their stocks of enriched uranium. Peace in our time!”
“This is the nuclear version of Janet Incompetano’s initial reaction to the Pantybomber — when she banned passengers from having paperback books on their laps for the last 45 minutes of the flight.”

“Parade risky for MP, MLA: organizer
Dosanjh, Hayer told to avoid Surrey Sikh festival
Vaisakhi parade organizers say Liberal MP Ujjal Dosanjh and B.C. Liberal MLA Dave Hayer are not invited to attend the annual Surrey event — and if they do show up, they’ll be responsible for their own safety.
Inderjit Singh Bains, an organizer of the parade, made the comments Thursday morning on The Gurvinder Dhaliwal Show on the Sher-E-Punjab radio station.
Both Dosanjh and Surrey Mayor Dianne Watts lodged complaints with the RCMP Thursday after being contacted by The Vancouver Sun, which obtained an English transcript of the radio show commentary.
In a telephone interview later, Bains said it was the decision of the committee organizing the parade not to invite Dosanjh or Hayer and, therefore, it was not the organizers’ responsibility to ensure the politicians’ safety if they decide to attend.
No one else’s security would be an issue at the parade, he added.
“Just only two persons,” said Bains. “Everybody else is no problem.””

“Campbell, Dosanjh and Hayer boycott Surrey’s Vaisakhi celebration
Campbell said he wasn’t expecting to attend.
“I would have to hear and awful lot from the organizers of the parade with regard to what it actually is they’re trying to accomplish,” he said. “Unless there has been a direct apology to the two individuals who were mentioned, I would find it difficult to agree to go.”
Both Dosanjh and Hayer say they, too, are shocked and saddened by the implicit threat.
After listening to the on-air statements, Hayer, the MLA for Surrey-Tynehead, said he cancelled plans to attend.
“This has left a black mark. I was hoping they would have learned from past mistakes they have made. People have clearly stated they want to celebrate Vaisakhi as a multicultural day, Vaisakhi as the beginning of the new year, Vaisakhi as the birth of Khalsa rather than [have it used] as a political agenda for a few people,” Hayer said.”

The following comments are from a diplomat at the Afghan Commitee.—“She had also written three different human rights reports over three years warning that torture was a common problem in Afghanistan.
But Olexiuk said her advice was ignored by Paul Martin’s government.
“I don’t think anybody really cared, quite frankly,” she said.” — I think that these remarks may fall under the category of “explosive, bombshell, startling, etc.”, yet the CBC and others seem to have missed their signifigance.

“Liberal leader Michael Ignatieff jumped into the fray on Saturday demanding an apology for the controversial remarks.
“We must unequivocally condemn all threats of violence and extremism in Canadian communities. No public official, no matter what their political affiliation, should ever be excluded or require security at a public event such as this,” Ignatieff said in the statement. “It is appropriate that the organizers extend my colleague Ujjal Dosanjh and BC MLA Dave Hayer an apology.”
Ignatieff said the parade’s rightful role is a inclusive community celebration.
“It is unfortunate that such an important community celebration has been tarnished by these threats of violence,” Ignatieff said.”
