Reader Tips

Good evening ladies and gentlemen, welcome to SDA Late Nite Radio. Tonight, pursuant to our never- ending fascination here in the studio with human audio generation techniques like humming, whistling, and yodeling, and following up on our 2008-07-25 and 2009-08-19 shows, here, for your delectation, is a solo performance by Mongun-ool Ondar (who, with Aldar Tamdyn and Igor Koshkendey, form the master Tuvan throat singers known as Chirgilchin) of six different styles of Khoomei ¤ §, at the Rubin Museum of Art, in New York, in 2005 (7:41).

Your Reader Tips are, as always, welcome in the comments.

  2. Thanks hardboiled.
Lugwig von Mises was always a hard money man, always favoured 100% reserve gold-based banking.
However, at an earlier stage in his thinking he ridiculed the idea of gold coin circulation, believing that paper, 100% backed by gold, would be more convenient. He later rescinded this view and advocated metallic coin circulation so that people would have a day to day familiarity with it and be quickly aware of an incipient gangster-government-bankster fraud.

Now, don’t some go about saying that it is true. While it reflect the fact, it is totally misleading, where it wholly omits the doings of current occupant of the White House, as though the current admin has no part in any of it.

  7. CBC does have an article up about the ‘melting’ Arctic ice.In the story the top dog tells us how the traditional knowledge of the Inuit contributed to the research. That is not science, that is folklore, akin to walking to school in hip deep snow ,uphill both ways, like our dads did wayback in the fourties.Of course, the CBC still hasn’t mentioned the ‘glacier not melting’ story. “The rain in Spain
Fears that Southern Europe could not maintain fiscal discipline has caused the Euro to plummet and sparked market losses worldwide. News of a Portuguese defeat of a proposed austerity measure, added to reports that Greece is balking at measures which can plug a hole twice the size of the Lehman Brothers abyss and reluctance in Spain to cutting public spending have convinced some investors to conclude that the belt will never be tightened enough.
The VOA describes the situation: “Some analysts predict Greece could be pushed out of the bloc. Also unclear is whether the Greek government will have the political will to carry out the painful fiscal measures it promised — particularly if they spark protests. Spain also faces potential social unrest over its austerity measures. And in Portugal, the parliament on Friday voted down the government’s austerity plan.” But the real worry was Spain. Neither the collapse of Greece nor Portugal could seriously threaten the Eurozone, but Spain’s much bigger economy could. The Wall Street Journal describes the scenario that has caused the market to fall: a weak Europe stalls the global recovery and leads to a fall in commodities. Like an airplane which has lost lift, someone, somewhere has got to get enough airflow over the wings to get the thing flying again. But how?” (more)

  9. I hope Jack Layton is successful in beating prostate cancer. But I also hope he fails at pretty much everything else he’s trying to do these days.
Re: Arson associated with Conservative MP’s office?
The Toronto Star, following its apparently recently-revised rules on identification of suspects, describes the perp here as a “white male” and “portly”. That should significantly narrow down the search.
