I cancelled two newpaper subscriptions ten days ago because I was disturbed by their lack of coverage of this incredible scandal. They can’t take no for an answer, one of them keeps delivering. But there’ll be no cheque in the mail from me.
In the meantime just got a reply from the PM’s office. Similar to what others have received.

Canceling a newspaper subscription doesn’t mean your reasoning reaches the editorial staff. They are different departments in larger city newspapers. A few dozen letters to the editor certainly do. They then may publish one of the letters the same day as they do start covering the issue.
I recall my surprise at the speed with which the evil empire finally unravelled….despite it being my life’s work to pull it down…or at least fight it off….most days, since then, I have thought that I’m the last of the COLD WARriors and that we are losing again…
My caution to the enthusiastic ones about…in my time we won TET but lost the battle for hearts and minds……
This new enemy (actually the old one) has come too close to victory, has too much invested to go quietly into the night….
But then……I was wrong before when the USSR collapsed….that is the way of these things…
