Now is the time at SDA when we juxtapose!
Norm Spector, expertus emeritus – “Where’s Mr. Brown these days, you ask? Well, he isn’t anchoring the CBS Evening News, a job that is now held by Katie Couric. True, she got off to a rocky start, but she’s found her feet and is now thriving”.
Associated Press – Once again, Katie Couric’s evening newscast was watched by fewer people than any network newscast.

Mark, I had enough of Spector’s intellectual dishonesty directed at me at the WS a few years ago to waste any time following him. This link was the first I’ve read of him in years, literally. As usual, his content is barely coherent, but the Couric comment was too juicy to pass up. Otherwise, I’d have let it go by unmentioned.
Speedy immune system is 60% gastric. Obviously evolutionary, despite what our creationist Minister of Science thinks, response to all our diverse food sources. There is a lymphatic connection between intestinal tract and lungs but yeah, no one knows why cytokine storm happens. Anyway, I don’t see why extinction via bioterror is bad if extinction via AGW isn’t bad, so CPC supporters shouldn’t care. I’ll pay myself a token penny and call it market forces.
Pj, unfortunately there are only so many hours in a day, and the world is full of bloggers. So I keep up on the topics that interest me. If I started trying to cover everything, I’d probably burn out in 6 months.
It’s why I have a blogroll – so folks can keep track of the stuff I don’t write about elsewhere.
Katie couric is just miserable to watch. I watched her interview ann coulter and she had daggers in her eye’s you could see the jelousy she had of ann (ann has a big fat mouth and should use moderation ). Ann is blonde, blue eye’s, sexy frame, tall and leggy.Katie just hates her for it, Anyway i feel sorry for katies husband if she has one .
she seems like a man hater! LOl

If blogs were threaded it would be much more entertaining. Like Usenet.
since you’re on the topic of juxtapositions, here is a suggestion for your next one, starring your beloved Stephen Harper
October 2008
“We will not be running a deficit. We will keep our spending within our means. It is that simple. The alternative is not a plan. It is just the consequence of complete panic, and this government will not panic at a time of uncertainty.”
I’ll let you fill in the October 2009 statements.
Speedy;
You are right to take issue with Phillip Huggan’s suggestion that the immune system is largely in the gastric tract. As I’m sure you know, immune response can be found in literally every layer of tissue in the body starting with your skin and working its way inward. It appears that the RCMP got to Phil’s weed supply many years to late.

All G7 countries agreed to go into deficit spending to prop the economies after Harper made those statements.
It’s nice to be an armchair economist with 20-20, isn’t it?
LEDA, nice comeback. Liberals never let facts get in the way of their agenda.
… funny, liberals say that about conservatives…
how unique we are!
That ain’t nothing, Greg!
Spector accused me of being “personally responsible for every abortion in Canada.”
Telling that to our MSM, Spector is a grand old man of journalism in spite of that and other equally bizarre public assertions but (say it with me) “Glenn Beck is the crazy one”. 🙂
Nice comeback? that’s all you got LEDA?
Harper refused to acknowledge there was any economic gloom on the horizon that might require deficit spending. He even encouraged Canadians to jump in the stock market, along with his mama.
However, he did call an election (breaking another one of his election promises you all seem to ignore here) because he feared the economic malaise might sour his chances of a majority.
And Ken, I am a not a “Liberal”. I have no party affiliation. Sorry that bursts your little bubble of classifying people who dare to question Harper as Liberals. It’s convenient to have all our opinions formed for you by your party- saves you the energy of thinking for yourself, which I guess leaves you all more time and energy to be angry with the world.
Nice echo chamber you all have built here.

Again, you prove the cherry picking of your facts.
The situation involved the choice between sticking to his guns, and tempting either an election that -nobody- wanted, especially the leftards of the world, because it would have proved -nothing-, except that Candians are good at wasting millions of dollars at a time……for the moral principle of the high road, of course….
…or the choice of the Coalition of the Swilling, involving the troika of Taliban Jack, Citoyen Dion, and the separatistes.
Harper got past that, but realized, politically, that he had to move somewhat into deficit spending, so as to cut off criticism from the left for “not doing anything”, as the laaeft would gain politically from that position. Yes, I don’t like the deficit spending either, but can see the rationale of doing it, as again, politically, it has worked out VERY well for Harper…Count Igula is spinning in the breeze, Dion was cut disgracefully, Tally Jack is busted, and Qbecers are irrelevant.
And Canada is still the envy of the western world for its financial position, namely, the stability of the banks (and I don’t like the banks any better than you, I’m sure).
Given that, we’re not the financial basket case that Owebumble is leading the states into.
it’s true our banks are the envy of the world. any you know why? you left out one important fact. The banks are not on the hook for most of the mortgages they write. You are, via our state sponsored debt addiction program, called the CMHC. Which, by the way, Harper expanded by offering 0 down, 40 year mortgages. Anything to keep the party going on his watch, including selling out the taxpayers who actually save up for a downpayment. What a concept.
