Now is the time at SDA when we juxtapose!
Via an obscure ethnic restaurant critic’s archives;
OTTAWA – The Liberals are complaining to the federal ethics commissioner over the Harper government’s use of taxpayer cheques bearing the Conservative party logo or Tory MPs signatures.
Ethics Commissioner Mary Dawson is being asked to investigate dozens of examples of promotional government cheques that Tory MPs used to tout stimulus spending for partisan gain.
Via Jean Chretien.net archives;
OTTAWA; QUEBEC CITY – Jean Chretien, the Prime Minister, yesterday said his government had nothing to apologize for in seeking to reap maximum partisan political benefit from disbursing $1-billion worth of federal job grants across Canada each year.
He had always made sure since taking power in October, 1993, that voters were left in no doubt that it was his Liberals who were distributing such grants, he said.
“Listen,” he added, “we are the government … I don’t see why we can’t try to get credit for what we do. I hope we do so. There is nothing to be ashamed in that.”
Great sleuthing, courtesy of Manny

‘I just think its fun watching Catman turn himself into a pretzel, trying to make the Liberals look moral and reasonable. Talk about lipstick on a pig’.
Me too, Phantom! Good work Manny, there was so much corruption during the dark liberano daze that we just have to google for fodder when the msm go a spinnin’ for their old masters.
And a useful reminder comes from Spector

“Having served as president of the Atlantic Canada Opportunities Agency under the Liberals, I can confirm the observation of these observers. Indeed, facing pressure by ministers David Dingwall (now retired) and Lawrence MacAulay (still serving) to approve projects in Atlantic Canada, I resigned from the public service of Canada.”
“That point came home to me yesterday, watching MP Dominic Leblanc jousting about pork with Jason Kenney on CTV’s Power Play. For, as an aide in Prime Minister Jean Chrétien’s office in the mid-1990s, Dominic Leblanc was one of those pressuring us to approve projects that our professional staff viewed as dubious, at best.”
Looks like its kick a restaraunt critic today.
Check out Bourque….quote
“Kicking Ass in Canadian Politics, Indeed” just above the poll results and the link goes to picture of the critic.
I guess its because he is merely a volunteer only
I really am enjoying this liberal whine. The liberals demanded that the Conservatives spend stimulus money. The Conservatives spend the money demanded except they put the Conservative logo on the ceremonial cheques. What did the liberals expect, the liberal logo on the cheque?

Thanks for that….Good pic of the Dark Lord but I do feel bad for the border collie…No dog should have to live with someone that untrainable.

“First Nation approves controversial TV-like billboards for scenic B.C. locals
VANCOUVER, B.C. — A controversial business move by a Vancouver-area First Nation has put it at odds with residents who say they’ve become unlikely defenders of the environment against the aboriginal group.
Squamish First Nations chiefs and councillors gave final approval Thursday to erect six TV-like electronic billboards, each the size of a city bus, on its property in some of the most scenic areas of British Columbia.
Depending on whose opinion you listen to, the billboards are either a traffic hazard and a blight on B.C. scenery or a financial fix for a struggling First Nation.
The three metre by nine metre LED or light-emitting diode screens will be operating in time for Christmas and the Vancouver 2010 Olympic Games.”

(*I know nuttink.)
That’s what I figured too. The government is Conservative and they’re the ones doing the doling out, so what other stationery would they be using? Logos should be the least of anyone’s concern. The fact is that stimulus monies are being distributed and the mandate has been kept responsibly, which is far superior to anything the Libs would’ve come up with. Their funds would be nothing more that funneled paybacks and laundered sponsorships.
So Princess Fluffy Bunny and his sticky fingered friends are reduced to complaining about props.
They make Dion look like Wilfred Laurier but with better hair.
Princess Fluffy Bunny is trying to stay out of the rain…….it frizzes her hair and brings on thinking spasms.

*”Ont. to reveal next Thursday if deficit has grown beyond $18 billion
TORONTO — Ontario taxpayers will find out next week just how hard the recession has hit the province’s economy.
Finance Minister Dwight Duncan will deliver his fall economic update next Thursday, and unlike last fall, the government says this one will not be a mini-budget.
Instead, Duncan will reveal the size of the provincial deficit, last estimated to be $18 billion, and will detail the impact that an unprecedented drop in government revenues has had on the books.”

“These days, the government itself is its own worst enemy. This week’s kerfuffle over Tory MPs dressing up mock government cheques with their signatures, or even the party logo in place of the Government of Canada logo, highlights the Conservatives’ vulnerability to charges of excessive partisanship.”

The MSM in this disoriented country still cannot follow the slime trail to slimey “W”s doorstep regarding these life threatening scandals. What does it say about these so called reporters when they cannot recognize this piece of doggie doo for what he is. This “shit for brains loser continues to get the “Canadian Media” into a Tizzy May about diddly, glad I have a meaningful job, like I tell my kids, better to be a street whore than a journalist.
Liberal MP’s were all over the place for photo-ops whenever money was being given out. If now their only complaint is based on the signage used by Conservatives (looked like a cheque), it’s a pretty petty issue. Liberals know better than anybody how this stuff works.
This issue seems to have hit a nerve with some people, but quite frankly I think it is totally legitimate to brag about programs. All programs have some sort of ad budget. When it is a matter of money being doled out EVERYONE knows it’s taxpayers money. It always is . . . but the specifics (how much and where money gets spent) is a Conservative (in this case) decision. The Infrastructure program comes from the Conservative budget. I believe Liberals were resisting contributing — so taking credit (as Chretien says) is legitimate (even though I hate to agree with him.)
“Corrupt chien” was/ is a cu*t!
What is past is past, we all know the sad, incredibly corrupt legacy left behind. It will remain in Canadian’s minds for a long, long time
The GOOD news is Canada has a bright future!!!
Just because Chretien was a liar and cheat, doesn’t mean it is legit for Harper to be one too.
Failing grade on this, CPC!
I have no issues with the Economic Action plan and how it is being rolled out.
The Liberal approach in my mind has allways been big government programs to socially engineer their agenda.
The PM held his nose and created the economic action plan to create stimulus which does not lead to structural debt (ie – once the project is complete, no more spending).
Is what you Liberals are objecting to is that the government is being transparent (complete with photo op) on how they are spending the stuimulus money?
If I were a conservative I wouldn’t want to put my logo on money that puts the country into debt. They get more than enough taxes – the stupid government is too big and has too many programs. Slash spending, dolts. I’m disgusted at the “stimulous” cash in the first place. I know that the opposition forced SH into it but what the hell! You gotta stand for something or you’ll fall for anything.
