…but rules are rules, and apparently whoever the authoritarians are that run things decided that you cannot express the opinion that the media wants black quarterbacks to do well. Rush got booted out of ESPN for saying that. And apparently there is no such thing as forgiveness in the sports world. Unless…
Unless you electrocute and drown dogs, and slam them to death?

Still fake but accurate: the Rush Limbaugh media lynch mob.
Good question: “If Limbaugh really is a racist, then why does it take bogus quotes to “prove” that he is?”

I’ve been following this a bit. The thing that strikes me about this the most, is that this smear campaign isn’t just about Rush Limbaugh. It is not merely a partisan political attack on a media figure. It is an attack on me, too.
Anyone in Hollywood can be forgiven anything, just look at Roman Polanski, Michael Jackson, Britney Spears, and on and on and on. Anything can be forgiven or at least forgotten EXCEPT conservatism. Anything EXCEPT advocating smaller government. Anything EXCEPT promoting Christian values.
So this isn’t about a rich entertainer with a drug habit or weird religion wanting to be part owner of a football team. Tom Cruise would not be getting smeared.
I do not agree with Rush Limbaugh, he agrees with me. My beliefs are the target. This is about somebody who says what I think, out loud on the radio, getting destroyed by people lying about him in the media. For agreeing with me.
Which p1sses me off.
Leonard Little killed a guy with his car while drunk. He was also caught drunk-driving six years after his involuntary manslaughter charge.
Donte Stallworth killed a guy with his car while drunk.
Ray Lewis plead guilty to a lesser charge of obstruction of justice after originally being charge with manslaughter for a brawl that killed a man.
Pac Man Jones has been arrested several times, for everything from assault to drug offenses, and was involved in an incident which left a bouncer paralyzed after a shooting at a strip club.
Mike Vick’s story has been well documented, and there’s no need to rehash that disgusting behaviour.
Fifty-eight (58) players were arrested in 2008, according to http://forums.palmettofootballtalk.com/eve/forums/a/tpc/f/6371083665/m/3351026717/p/4
These folks are all fine and dandy members of the NFL, but Rush Limbaugh, successful businessman who holds views counter to important race-baiters isn’t?
All I can say is the PDS (Palin Derangement Syndrome) folks have morphed down the alphabet to RDS (Rush Derangement Syndrome). As someone else pointed out, it is turning into a lynch mob with Rush having to prove he didn’t say those inflamatory remarks.
Lloyd Robertson, on CTV last evening, reported that Limbaugh was in trouble for certain quotes without saying anything else about the subject. Yeah that’s what we’ve come to expect from top Canadian media sources! Garbage in. Garbage out.
I’m not seeing what the big deal is. Why not let him have a team? He’s got the money, right? Are those uptight squares in the NFL shocked that he hasn’t killed puppies or something? Is that the admission price for owning a team?
Anyone remember Marge Schott?
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Marge_Schott
This can be easily explained if you go over to BCF’s place and watch a scholarly presentation by a Dr. Arnold H. Itwaru. All whites are racist white supremacists. Rush is in, if not good company, very large company.
I read somewhere that Mr. Vick was not only running the dog fights but an illegal gambling ring as well. How could that go wrong with professional sports? Rush will have to accept that he’s a bigot according to the latest progressive definition of racist which is ‘white, male, heterosexual’, with the caveat that blacks like Clarence Thomas, Walter E.Williams, Marcus Lloyd, Thomas Sowell, and Condoleeza Rice are fair game and can’t be victims of discrimination because they left the Democrat’s plantation.
I hope Rush stops responding and starts suing. Thats a game I would watch. It will be a long time before I watch another NFL game.
Rush’s comments (even the ones he actually made) shouldn’t disqualify him from owning an NFL franchise.
That said, if you think the NFL bends over backwards to make sure black quarterbacks look good, two words: “JaMarcus Russell.”
the way the Rams are playing, perhaps Rush should get out there on the field.
Rush Limbaugh! Now there is a lot of BS and hot air talking. He and Sarah Palin are a blessing to the Democrats, one just has to point and laugh.
He(Rush) and Sarah Palin are a blessing to the Democrats, one just has to point and laugh.
~T
I’d be happy if that’s all you Leftists did.
Unfortunately, this thread is about the real fact that instead of just pointing and laughing, your pundits have been libeling and slandering both of them.
Why Rush would want a team in the National Felons League is beyond me. In the end it is his money to lose. Let the players on the team boycott if they choose. Multi-million dollar contract or drug abuse and welfare? Mmmm
They’re doing a “Dan Rather” on him now, and they deserve to be called on it. The further they go with it, the more trouble and embarrassment they should catch. It’s going to be interesting to see which way this goes.
This is a teachable moment too, isn’t it?
So “T”, I’ve been listening to Limbaugh off and on since 1993. I’ve got a pretty decent baseline to build my opinion on.
How many times have you listened to his show?
I remember watching the football pregame when Rush said McNabb was being supported by the media because of his race. Nobody on the panel thought anything of it, they all began discussing, disagreeing, whatever. Then a week passes and they all face the camera and deliver little speeches about how shocked and appalled they were. Best part was watching them mumble about how they, uh, didn’t, uh, quite notice how racist it was when they first heard it.
Listening to Limbaugh laugh at obozo pretending to be president is always a treat. And it’s the only way to handle the situation; notice how uncomfortable lefties get when conservatives step away from their self-imposed polite moderate approach.
Phantom:
I’ve listened to Rush a few times. Sorry, I think the guy is a blowhard. He makes a good point from time to time, but I’ve heard him say outlandish things that are so far from the truth, I turned the radio off in disgust.
I worship at the feet of no man, and that includes overstuffed unapologetic prescription drug addicts.
I agree, Kevin. That’s why I said up above, I don’t agree with Limbaugh. He agrees with me. Also one must always remember that he shapes his show to fit the audience, with extreme skill given his success.
However, I will say that although I’ve heard him be wrong about things, I’ve never -ever- heard him lie. Anytime he screws up he makes an on-air correction.
So while Limbaugh is not perfect by a long shot, he exceeds the MSM by a country mile for accuracy and integrity.
“Were my theory wrong, one man would have sufficed to show it.”
— Albert Einstein
KevinB, I have to agree with Phantom. I appreciate that Rush is an extravert and has a bombastic delivery. It’s not exactly like listening to William F. Buckley.
But Rush has always made it exceedingly clear that he was a populist conservative. He has always identified with the regular guy and not an intellectual elite.
And he has always been distinctly clear about conservative principles, even if he has been in error occasionally on some issue.
He has always endorsed small central government, lower taxes, local control, strong defense, and strict interpretation of the Constitution. And really, that is all that is expected of a conservative, and Rush underscores these principles every single day.
Sometimes I wish that there were a National Public Radio for conservatives. It would be a nice change. However, if such a thing existed it would be dominated by people like David Brooks, Peggy Noonan, and David Frum, and they would not be warriors challenging the power structure with a conservative message.
So as long as Rush is out there hammering away at the conservative messages, I’m going to be just fine with him.
Whoops. I forgot to add free markets.
Lefticle book of situational management.
If you have vocal and persistent critics …. shut them up.
Approved methods od silencing critics include slander/libel and just plain making stuff up.
Also approved are, changing topics, injecting non-sequiturs, shouting and the grand slam argument ender “Racist” …..
Rush still has my attention …. especially when gets back to his “Lies that LIberals love to tell about you” !
“I’ve heard him say outlandish things that are so far from the truth, I turned the radio off in disgust” – KevinB
I am not saying that Rush is always right on everything, but I would be interested in an example. Most of the time when you see statements like this, what they really say is that “so and so said something I strongly disagree with.”
the fact that OHKorab singled him out should make any sensible librl take notice&listen. Tho Im probably giving credit where it’s not due.
RE Mcnabb:
In 2003 he was rated 16th out of 32 starting QB’s with an unspectacular 79.6 rating. (Jeff Garcia, white QB of the SF 49ers,rated 15th lost his job that year)
The Eagles finished with a 12-4 record however. So we have a team that produces a pretty darn good record with an average quarterback, but the quarterback is getting all the credit? Me thinks Rush had a good point.
http://www.mortgageloancalculating.com:80/passer_ratings_2003.html
Since when does looking something up on Wikipedia of all things, count as ‘journalism’? Geez, these guys have the easiest job in the world.
never listen to the Rush, don’t like his delivery style, period
now as to the “lies”, I hope he sues the $hit out of those spouting them, and wins
and as to his stating that the LSM over states the qualities of ethnic players, what’s new, that’s a lefturd default setting
Except for Phantom,I think everyone is missing the point…..the lefturds attack on anything that is against their socialist plans. Do you all want to bend over and take it up the butt from them? It appears so. Remeber. They do not fight fair and it is high time for “conservatives to apply the same thing to them…i.e. baseball bats upside the head. And anybody who says we are going down to their level, well take your pussified butt back home to Mommy. We are fighting for a free way of life, not one ruled by race baiters, lefturds, etc.
No one deserves the crap that Rush received, no one.
It’s bullroar. He should sue them all.
That said, if he had tried to buy the Raiders, maybe things would have been a whole lot different.
Just win baby!
Seems that this all about lawyers making money.
http://www.americanthinker.com/blog/2009/10/the_search_for_the_wikipedia_l.html
From the article..
The search for the Wikipedia Libelist responsible for damaging posts to the Rush Limbaugh account has been narrowed to the IP address of a New York City law firm:
What we really have here is CDS. Not Bush, Palin or Rush but CONSERVATIVE derangement syndrome.
Those who are now in power earned their chops and wrung their hands in glee as they won an election built on trashing a decent president in a time of war. Truth never has mattered to this group of lowlifes now called ‘the left’. It is hard to call them that because what they do is so lowdown and dirty.
We have the dregs of society now telling all of society how to live. What to eat. What to drink HOW to recycle ( or we will put your kids up to turning you in you idiot parents!) How to live. What to drive and when and who will get a salary and who will not.
It is a great deal like the French Revolution.
Fraught with feverish revenge, they could not contain themselves with their blood lust and neatly sliced off the heads of many an ‘aristocrat’. Guilty and Innocent, no matter. they all died…. and their children.
These days, since January at least, it is the decent people of America who are under attack.( and it would not take much for things like this to happen here, because you just know there are elements watching what is going on across the border and looking for any advantage. Iggy did not go to Washington to ‘commiserate’ with the likes of Rahm ‘deadfish’ Immanuel for nothing.)
What has happened to President Bush, Sarah Palin,Carrie PreJean and now to Rush Limbaugh sends us the same kind of signal as the canary in the coal mine: WARNING! There WILL be an explosion.
For the decent folk that make up the ‘conservative’ mindset, calls to action are slow in coming and build evenly. Tea Parties. Marches on Washington.
It is a message: The majority of us who live and work and raise our kids and mind our own damn business are sick and tired of being told what to do and having our entire lives ruined by the incompetent, vicious, jealous, petulant dregs of society.
Rush is a belweather. One of many. This one however may be the last straw.
Well said snowbunny.
I wonder if the CFL and an enterprising TV distribution network would like to take a chance on gaining the viewership of a significant number of pairs of US eyes.
