  1. Is what’s in The Star a NEWS story or is Bruce Campion-Smith kneeling below Iggy, just out of view of the camera? I think the latter.

  2. I would have thought that The Red Star would have used a photo that is a little less sickening. It almost makes me want to kick a puppy dog.

  3. On the surface it makes sense. I would like to see the CBC use FP news (it has a capitalist slant) and could care less where the sports news comes from. So if the latter helps the cost structure of NP and the former gives it revenue and it all saves the NP. Then that’s a good thing.

  4. But an unnoticed line in the CP story Norman highlighted
“Ignatieff walked away from reporters as he was asked whether he actually wants an election this fall”
Oh would I love to see that piece of tape.

  5. I found this at a link, in the link cited on this posting. It has to do with the absence of biofuel filling stations here in Canuckistan:
    Why the surprise…
The Conservative government is only about photo-ops and window dressing so this is a natural move for them. Another example of doublespeak. Placate one group by buying environmentally friendly vehicles , then placate the other by filling it up with fuel, if from the tar sands even better. The only thing out of order is that the conservatives haven’t announced the use of environmentally friendly vehicles over and over again as though its new or blamed the lack of ethanol on the former government. Its always the liberals fault somehow. Even if you have to go back to the 1800’s.

  6. What will I read in the morning? Where will I get the truth rather than a subverted version of the truth.
I get the Toronto Weekend Star just for the TV guide. The rest of it is mainly unread. Their columnists just get my dander up. I really like Chantal Hebert because she is balanced in her appraisals as she sees them. Then there is Haroun Siddiqi who is a support for some other fifth columnists. That is no way to start the day unless I agree with them but I rarely do.
I don’t buy the Globe because they publish Naomi Klein. (OR DID). I despise Simpson and some others in the pockets of the Liberals but I can put up with them because one day they just might see the light. I don’t buy the Sun Media Rag because they do not deliver outside Toronto proper and Lorrie Goldstein is the only columnist on National politics.
I guess all my news will have to come online or from MacLean’s a week late.

  7. Talk about sleeping with the enemy! The NP is giving it up to some lecherous old pervert, and hoping for a reward in the distant future, never gonna happen.
