Now Is The Time At SDA When We Juxtapose!

Jonathan Adler, August 22nd;

Let’s see now. Deficit projections are once again on the rise as Obama’s approval rating falls. Health-care reform is faltering, climate-change legislation is stalled, and David Axlerod is under fire for his conflicts of interest. Seems like a good time to change the subject. Contents of the CIA inspector general’s report on harsh interrogation methods have already leaked, so it won’t do the trick. If I were a betting man, I’d expect something else to drop Monday or Tuesday.

Charles Krauthammer, August 25th;

Well, it is a hell of a coincidence, isn’t it? The administration is in a deep health-care debate, a national debate, and every hour that passes, support for [Obama’s] plans are diminishing and his own popularity is tanking. All of a sudden, this issue explodes on a Monday.
Friday, the administration — at 5 o’clock, after hours — releases a $2 trillion error in estimates of deficits, and on a bright Monday, you get this re-litigation of the Bush administration all of a sudden exploding upon us.
Look, I’m not a conspiracy theorist, but I’m not a child. It’s not a coincidence.

  1. Rob, the “Progressives” are using Islam a a bat to beat up the people they are -really- afraid of, conservatives. AKA normal people.
After “progressives” beat what they want out of the silent majority in the USA, Muslims will be under the bus so fast they won’t have time to say holy cr@p.
That’s their plan anyway, looks to me like Barry is pretty much ruining all the work they’ve done these last 30 years. I mean, this propaganda machine of his is clumsy! Compare this to the Slick Willie blue dress bob and weave.

  2. [quote]It’s going to take a lot of heavy hauling by the MSMers to take on the CIA as criminals myth and use it to change the subject at this point.[/ommag]
One of reasons is that the defense Lawyers may challenge the evidence as inadmissible (obtained under threat of torture) and that would give Obama political cover to free them.
If you read the “Friend of the Court” brief filed in Canada (RE: Canadian Terrorist) you would find that the lawyers are worried about the evidence obtained by Canadian investigators. A “friend of the court” is not the lawyer for the accused, & in this case makes some admissions to the Court that should concern Canadians. They basically want to suppress the Canadian evidence of a guilty terrorist, and the Canadian Judge agreed!
Obama has been made a wimp by the Scottish Court, (Hell Bush would have shot the plane down). I expect that Libya’s Gaddafi will soon “summon” Obama to get the apology & have his feet kissed…

  3. Look, I’m not a conspiracy theorist, but I’m not a child. It’s not a coincidence.
We all know it as well. It won’t work this time.
Coincidences are conspriacies little smelly farts.

  4. “I’m looking forward to the Cheney/Rumsfeld/
Bush war crimes trials. It will take my mind off of the economy.”
So Obama is giving us the circuses, but not the bread. I am not sure it will work.

  5. Well, now they got their distraction, and an emotional push toward fulfilling Ted Kennedy’s lifelong dream, universal health care. Ted himself, meanwhile, is at this moment explaining to St. Peter “And when I returned… Mary Jo and the car were gone.”

  6. Well,, Kennedy is gona rot in hell now.
God Bless Mary Jo Kopechne, may she rest in peace.

  7. Perhaps Obama should take a page from Bush and just raise the terror alert
now that is a bullshit distraction

  8. Right of Centre,
What’s your source for that? Is it a misquote from Tom Ridge’s book? Just curious.
BTW, Bush is not president anymore. The more the left invokes him, the lower Obama’s ratings go. Obama’s choir already believes. I don’t know who you are trying to convince.

  9. “since more people voted for these parties they have the right to form a coalition, look at the ridings of most elected officials and notice how very few of them won their riding with a clear majority”
I just happen to have those numbers handy.
    Seats won / by majority
    BQ 49 / 13
    CPC 143 / 79
    LPC 77 / 17
    NDP 37 / 7
    Ind 2 / 1
To be consistent, most of the Lib, Dip and BQ MPs should give up their own seats to a coalition of losing candidates.

  10. Well, there’s dumb, and then there’s dumber.
And then there’s willfully ignorant, in a small dead-minded, birther/death panel, trailer park trash sort of way.
The GST was introduced, ostensibly, to replace the Manufacturers Sale Tax, and was indeed touted as being revenue neutral.
More people having voted for the opposition parties does not give the coalition a right to form government, but having a majority of seats in the H of C does.

  11. Adler called it perfectly. Something else did drop Monday or Tuesday, and its name was Ted Kennedy
