  1. So, is killing grandma taking “cash for clunkers” to a whole new level??
Where do I get my new baby?

  2. “Let Grandma die” is the new Democrat health care motto.
Their other motto is “Gimme all yer money, sucker!”
At this time I predict a long, beautiful silence from the troll gallery on this thread.
Barry is a megalomaniac fool with a major woody for nationalizing hospitals, trolls. Discuss.
    Go on, don’t be shy.

  3. This one short sentence will probably summarize Obama’s one term presidency (hopefully God ends the partnership and send the Big O packing in 2012) This man is now willingly show his mephistophelean intent to create the new soviet man.

  4. Obama’s rhetoric sounds just like that of an imam or mullah from Iran or Saudi Arabia.
The same self-alliance with an authoritarian metaphysical power; the same self-assertion of omnipotence.
The same ‘fatwas’ against any who dissent or question his rulings.
    Obama bin Barack.

  5. Unlike Canadians, Americans pay an estate/inheritance tax to the government.
If the government wants a chunk of everything grandma or grandpa has worked for their entire lives, the quickest way to get that death tax money is to kill them.
I don’t think many Americans have thought about this being a conflict of interest on the governments part.
If the government has death panels, a huge national debt, and a large new expensive “health” program, the temptation to withhold necessities would be clear to any new unionized health care worker who wanted a raise.

  6. Harper eating seal meat will soon be flash in the pan…Wait ’till Barry does a mega photo op tasting soylent green.
“Grandma use to make me biscuits”…(Nervous laughter) Barry grins and continues: “Now she’s in Michelle’s cookie jar!”

  7. This means life is no longer ‘above his payscale’?
Obama has serious delusions of grandeur.

  8. Fox (Beck) had a good piece on Federal health care RE: Indian Res….Rosebud, SD… “Better get sick before June” (budget depleted)… The US Congress has failed in every category. The Chief says welcome to Indian healthcare, the bunch of sick B’ards in Congress want that System for everyone.
We have traitors in the US Congress!

  9. OZ,
In keeping with your point on desperate measures (killing the old for their estate tax), the swiss bank refuge is crumbling under the weight of Obama’s tax warriors. Many will be wiped out and maybe jailed … or better yet, leave the USA for a more civilized country to prosper in.
Under Obama freedom and prosperity will be crushed.
    We hope that changes.

  10. Momar, it isn’t just the old people who have to be concerned about a health care system that could kill Americans for the estate tax.
Rich Americans, young or old, could be potential targets.

  11. OZ,
Yes, great point … of course, in a socialist system the population which is supported by government is more valuable dead than alive.
After all, when an economy is locked into perpetual shrinkage, it stands to reason the the population must shrink along with it. That is exactly what happened in Russia.
    Let invest in funeral futures.

  12. The ability of the US healthcare system to continue to extend life must be stopped! The state benefits from your death at retirement. Wonder what kind of counseling retirees are going to receive?
This is ugly, sinister, and the American people know it.
And in a totally unrelated story, gun sales are way up, and ammunition is harder and harder to come by.

  13. Where are the LEFTIES?!!! Come on boys and girls, your guy Barry just arrogated the power of life and death unto himself. Whaddaya gots to say about that, eh?
    […crickets…tired, lonely crickets…chirping…]
btw shaken, you’re stealing my schtick, man. You do it well. ~:D

  14. So, will the media and the trolls be howling about the separation of Church and State — which, btw, was the protect the Church from the State, not the other way around — with the Obamessiah’s G*d talk?
This POTUS is all over the map, ‘only problem is, it’s not a map anybody’s familiar with; it’s his Own Personal I-Don’t-Know — and he’s lost without a compass or a paddle.
But, RHTT, he does have Michelle’s cookie jar … 🙂

I have a message for you, a very sad message! My subject for this
evening will be Little Bo Peep.
It says here, “Little Bo Peep”, who was a little girl, “has lost her
sheep, and doesn’t know where to find them”. Now that’s reasonable,
    isn’t it?”
    “but, uh, “leave them
alone”. Now that overwhelms me … completely overwhelms me. The man
said she lost her sheep, turns right around and boldly states, “She
doesn’t know where to find them”. And then has the stupid audacity to
    say, “Leave them alone!””

  16. I’m giving serious consideration to the idea Obama is a twee bit insane, in a Dr. Strangelove kinda way. Maybe a bit too much time spent w/Rahm’s brother.

  17. BamBam keeps putting his foot in his mouth…..
He has just conformed that Sarah Palin not only right but right on message…..

  18. End-of-life counselling is nothing new.
    Doctor-patient relationship is nothing new.
Government getting in the middle of the relationship is what many in the US are questioning.

  19. the problem with the Obama acolytes (much like the Gore flunkies) is that they can’t get their lips of his ass long enough to see how awful he really is

  20. Yeah, and clearly what he meant was that he wanted to kill grandma. Certainly not that humans can work to extend and save lives.
Give it up. The provision in the bill was simple to ensure that counseling was funded. Period.
Seeing it removed means that more people won’t have access to that kind of information and will ultimately hurt grandma in the end.
Way to go. The rightwing strikes again.
You know you guys always, always lose, right?
Conservatives fought against the abolition of slavery, against women’s sufferage, against legislation to protect food and drinking water, to end child labour, and to improve working conditions. Everything. And yet here we are… living in a liberal democracy, despite the best efforts of your predecessors. Go figure.

  21. John: “The provision in the bill was simple to ensure that counseling was funded. Period.”
No, not period. The provision existed specifically in the context of reducing health-care costs. So how do you think “end of life counselling” could possibly lead to reduced costs? Care to hazard a guess?
“Conservatives fought against the abolition of slavery, against women’s sufferage, against legislation to protect food and drinking water, to end child labour, and to improve working conditions.”
Your naivete is exceeded only by your historical ignorance. Just one example: the US suffered a civil war because a *Republican* president placed the end of slavery above everything else.
What’s happened to our educational system?!

  22. John you are uninformed at best.
Lets say I am the government – you are a senior citizen with cancer who as been recieving a government and private pension, lets say you live in Oregon – today – there is a drug that can prolong your life for several years, but costs $4000 per month. Since the Doctors are paid by the government now and must conform to the new “economic reality” it becomes very clear that it is best that we offer you assisted suicide instead-costs about $50 plus the disussion fee paid to the doctors. Now, I the government get a nice piece of inheritance tax and no longer need to worry about paying you a pension. Health Care will be decided on purely economic grounds with age and quality of life being the basis my doctors use to determine your lifespan options.
Unrealistic – this is a true story – actually happened in Oregon http://abcnews.go.com/Health/story?id=5517492&page=1

  23. “All these things I will give you, because power over them has been handed over to me and I can give it to whomever I will. All these things I will give you, if you will fall down and worship me.”

  24. Hey . . here’s new Barry decison.
He throws Global Warming under his bus and embraces the Oil Sands . . . .
CALGARY, Alberta (Reuters) – The United States has approved Enbridge Inc’s (ENB.TO: Quote) $3.3 billion Alberta Clipper pipeline project, granting the project, which will deliver Canadian oil to U.S. refineries, a presidential permit, the State Department said in a release on Thursday.
The department said that allowing construction of the 450,000 barrel per day line serves U.S. interests by adding secure oil supplies from outside the OPEC nations at a time when political tensions in some producing regions threaten to interfere with oil shipments.
“The department found that the addition of crude oil pipeline capacity between Canada and the United States will advance a number of strategic interests of the United States,” it said in a statement.
The department also said construction of the line would create construction jobs for U.S. workers in what it called a difficult economic period.
Enbridge, which hopes to have the 1,000-mile (1,600-kilometer) line up and running by mid-2010, said it expects to begin construction soon, creating more than 3,000 U.S. jobs.
“We’re pleased we’ve reached this latest milestone and are in the process of mobilizing well over 3,000 workers and will begin construction within hours or days,” said Denise Hamsher, a spokeswoman for Enbridge.
Most of the oil shipped on the line will come from Canadian oil sands producers, which have been under from some U.S. environmental groups and legislators for boosting greenhouse gas emissions because of expanding production in the oil sands — a Florida-sized region of northern Alberta that contains the largest oil reserves outside the Middle East.
The State Department said it took greenhouse gas emissions into account when deciding to issue the permit, saying that the issue is best addressed through the domestic policies of the United States and Canada and through international agreements.
Enbridge shares fell 32 Canadian cents to C$41.00 on Thursday afternoon on the Toronto Stock Exchange

No Fred, the AGW gangsters Cap & trade scheme needs Oil Consumption to increase. It will be drill baby drill “if” Pelosi gets her bill passed. More Money for Gore
This is why the true environmentalist are pissed off… The fruit Fly sold out the Green for the Socialist hope of wealth transfer (they will see .01% of nothing)

  26. Let me get this straight…
Obama’s health care plan will be written by a committee whose head says he doesn’t understand it, passed by a Congress that hasn’t read it, signed by a president who smokes, funded by a treasury chief who did not pay his taxes, overseen by a surgeon general who is obese, and financed by a country that is nearly broke.
    What possibly could go wrong?

  27. Eskimo may I steal that last paragraph? You have summed it up so much better than most! Regards!

  28. Have at it anon. I received it from an American friend of mine who is scared to death of the possibility of ‘free’ health care.

  29. john
that there is any referance to end of life counselling in the HC bill is disturbing at best. This type of “question” deserves it’s own discussion and bill, one that is small enough to read and understand, and debate.

  30. John said:

Lincoln won the Republican Party nomination in 1860 and was elected president later that year. He successfully led his country through its greatest internal crisis, the American Civil War, preserving the Union and ending slavery.

    19th amendment Senate vote results
For Adoption: Republicans 36, Democrats 20.
Against Adoption: Republicans 8, Democrats 17.
Might I also mention that it was the Democrats in the Senate that filibustered the 1964 Civil Rights Act? Oh, and here are the voting totals on that act:
    House:
    Democratic Party: 152-96 (61%-39%)
    Republican Party: 138-34 (80%-20%)
    Senate:
    Democratic Party: 153-91 (63%-37%)
    Republican Party: 136-35 (80%-20%)

Do I need to mention that Martin Luther King Jr. was a Republican?

  31. John,
Maybe you could help me understand what Obama was talking about here.

Obama: The chronically ill and those toward the end of their lives are accounting for potentially 80 percent of the total health care bill out here.
Leonhardt: So how do you–how do we deal with it?
Obama: Well, I think that there is going to have to be a conversation that is guided by doctors, scientists, ethicists. And then there is going to have to be a very difficult democratic conversation that takes place. It is very difficult to imagine the country making those decisions just through the normal political channels. And that’s part of why you have to have some independent group that can give you guidance. It’s not determinative, but I think has to be able to give you some guidance. And that’s part of what I suspect you’ll see emerging out of the various health care conversations that are taking place on the Hill right now.

And John, medicare always covered end of life counseling, and still will. What was new, and what was removed was paying doctors to initiate such discussions every few years, and more often if a patient was very sick.
This is plain evil. Killing old people to save money is just plain unconscionable.
I know that all the enlightened swells in Canada and Europe have no problem denying aggressive care to the elderly, but I think it is plain wrong.

  32. This is plain evil. Killing old people to save money is just plain unconscionable.*

*Unless they’re Canadian Senators, in which case it pure good.
