  1. Oh My Lord that is scary!
Sure enough all the red area;s on the above map are democratic counties/states
I used the maps at this link:
    http://www.sacbee.com/1098/story/1936416.html
Pay attention to the map by county & last one where blue is states who voted more than 70% democats & red more than 70% Republican

  2. oh please can someone overlay a red state blue state map at county level.
I think the Im entitled to my entitlements will be obvious as a billy goats a$$ going uphill in the moonlight.

    what utter crap.
though when one looks back to the 70s , a couple of words from the trudeau messiah ,- fuddle duddle and the whole canadian economy was revived , new wines , fuddle duck , new t shirts. fuddle you.
these liberal mouthpieces are magic. magic I tell you .
    puke

  4. Hey- quit complaining. This is all based on scientific models. No politics is involved.

  5. Well back to Canada for me. Looks like Banff/Jasper National Parks or maybe Algonquin Provincial Park will be back to normal in 2009 or 2010. :0

  6. No unicorns?? Whadaya MEAN no UNICORNS?
I’m pretty sure he promised a unicorn in every pot!
(not that I would put my unicorn in a pot)
But I still want my unicorn.

  7. Cal2, there is no way you are going to see that kind of graphic representation of DemocRat failure on any MSM site. Ever.
I’d be sorely tempted to make one myself, but I lack the tools to compute it from the raw data.
Oh Captain, interested in a little project?

  8. Obligatory comment on how blue states seem to be hardest hit, whilst red states appear to have earlier predicted recovery. Yep.

  9. Nice to see all the National Parks in the Green for this year! Even Custer National Battlefied seems to be thriving this year or next! LOL

  10. Back out the map a bit and see how good Gov Palin is doing. Maybe Alaskas population will increase.

  11. The article says the recession appears to be over. Looks more like a dead cat bounce to me.

  12. news item:
as soon as dubya is clear of the white house, rightoids feel safe using the ‘r’ word.
p.s.: define ‘normal’. this baby ain’t going near ‘normal’ for a very long time.
except for personal economies. my next door neighbor just sold his house after 1 day on the market following better part of a year cogitating over the decision. and got full asking price. a break even situation. like my brudder the uneducated plumber said, recessions and economic downturns just bring out the bargain hunters. quit right you know; the adage promulgated by so many wall street gazillionaires: do the opposite of the herd.
is it possible the map shows a very calculating strategy? screw the dem supporters; they’re already in line. prop up the repub areas so they will vote for Obamasan. sayanara. think not? c’mon, don’t be a stereotypical naive Canadian.

  13. Take a look at Alaska.(pan Back) It looks as if Gov Palin is doing just fine in Alaska. Maybe Alaskas population will be growing.

  14. Hey Cap’n.
    Those 2014 areas?
Are those areas that voted Republican?

My same question. I live in the Milwaukee, WI area – big red zone. My stupid city repeatedly votes for Democrats, despite them doing little, if anything, to make life better.
I wonder if this map is based on current politicians and policies in place. Because it’s VERY likely (please, Lord!) that Wisconsin’s governor – Jim Doyle – will be OUT next November and replaced by Milwaukee County Executive Scott Walker, a good guy who’s managed to win re-election in a heavily Democratic area (Walker’s a Republican), and who constantly fights a tax-and-spend Democratic County Board to keep us as fiscally sound as he’s able (but he’s one guy in a sea of nutters, so…).

  15. Looks like my state (Texas) is going to lead the nation in recovery. What that means is that we will see an influx of unemployed from the northeast and midwest, who will then complain that unions aren’t strong enough here in Texas. Happened back in the early ’80s.

  16. Any signs of recovery can be easily eliminated by another manufacturing move to China. They will get you one way or another.

  17. Well, some areas will start manufacturing windmills, solar panels and unicorns later than others I guess. It looks like the Red (Republican) States will get those manufacturing jobs first. The blue (Democrat) states will of course get government jobs working for some czar or another after the productive states have started filling tax chests again.
    Peasants and elites.

  18. “as soon as dubya is clear of the white house, rightoids feel safe using the ‘r’ word.”
Actually, we started calling a recession a recession when it began, which was the middle of last year, not eight years ago. One side uses the R word whenever the R party is in power, the other side uses the R word whenever there are two consecutive quarters of negative economic growth.

  19. I think Canada officially only went into recession in March. two negative quarters in a row.
