Good evening ladies and gentlemen, welcome to SDA Late Nite Radio. Tonight, for your delectation and pursuant to our Thursday night wild-card show, here is Mr. Stephen Gordon Hendry, MBE, performing his ninth Perfect 147 Score & II in his competitive career, at the 1999 World Snooker Championship. In this case the big question is, for £157,000: What about the pink?
Your Reader Tips are, as always, welcome in the comments.

excellent… thank you.
I’m glad you liked that, Marc. For a moment there,
after the last red-black, I thought he might snooker
his yellow behind the brown; fortunately, not quite.
I’m not nearly finished yet.. spoiler alert!! jajaja
(note: certainly NOT a shit contest..)
There are too many good shots for mentioning
any one of them to spoil it, I think, Marc, but
probably the shot at 3:49 in Part I is my favourite.
A fine work of art.
Sort of a PSA … Dust My Broom is down again!
Who what when where why…?
Oh. My. God. I hope there hasn’t been a power failure!!!
This is not the type of change for which we were hoping.

Letter from a Dodge dealer
On Thursday, May 14, 2009 I was notified that my Dodge franchise, that we purchased, will be taken away from my family on June 9, 2009 without compensation and given to another dealer at no cost to them. My new vehicle inventory consists of 125 vehicles with a financed balance of 3 million dollars. This inventory becomes impossible to sell with no factory incentives beyond June 9, 2009. Without the Dodge franchise we can no longer sell a new Dodge as “new,” nor will we be able to do any warranty service work. Additionally, my Dodge parts inventory, (approximately $300,000.) is virtually worthless without the ability to perform warranty service. There is no offer from Chrysler to buy back the vehicles or parts inventory.
Our facility was recently totally renovated at Chrysler’s insistence, incurring a multi-million dollar debt in the form of a mortgage at Sun Trust Bank.
HOW IN THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA CAN THIS HAPPEN?
THIS IS A PRIVATE BUSINESS NOT A GOVERNMENT ENTITY
This is beyond imagination! My business is being stolen from me through NO FAULT OF OUR OWN. We did NOTHING wrong.
This atrocity will most likely force my family into bankruptcy. This will also cause our 50+ employees to be unemployed. How will they provide for their families? This is a total economic disaster.
HOW CAN THIS HAPPEN IN A FREE MARKET ECONOMY IN THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA?
Vitruvius: My post is getting blocked again. Please advise what it that I am doing that triggers the filter. Thanks.
I just checked in the administration interface, Brent, and MT is scoring your comment negative because of multiple occurrences of the words “mortgage” and “buy”. Which is why I always say: never send a machine to do a man’s job. I have now told the machine to display your comment.
Ahhh…. that makes sense. So, then, we might be able to say that one of the unintended consequences of the new administration’s policies is that a spam filter cannot distinguish between real spam and a report on the effects created by one of the new policies? Sounds about right. Maybe, the software does know something, after all….

What does Dodge/Chrysler’s inability to survive in the free market have to do with the current U.S. administration? I depend on Unix. If I couldn’t do that, in the free market, I’d change operating systems. If you can’t depend on your automobile vendor: change automobile vendors. Problem solved.
Oh. My. God. There’s a crazy woman on the planet!!!
And now Vit, here is the
pool shot of the century.
Are you trying to egg me on, Gunney?
Don’t you realize how dangerous that is?
Never mix up snooker shots with pool shots.
I’ve long thought that Time’s Joe Klein was a weasel. But his little attack on Charles Krauthammer was far beyond the pale.
Just imagine if a conservative or Republican had said that a liberal or Democrat in a wheelchair was incapable of “really understanding what he was writing about”.
Yet in this case, what do we get from the MSM? Grasshoppers on a starry night.
Woman throws baby at loss prevention officer (crazy lady on the planet) and the Tori Stafford horror should open once again a conversation on the return of the death penalty in this country. Is there something in the Bible saying that in the last days, wise men will wish themselves dead?
In the last days, wise men will already be dead.
Nicely understated and graceful celebration, and nice reaction from his opponent!
In the last days wise men will already be dead?
One can only hope so!
Agreed, Erik, Shaun Murphy did, I think, really appreciate Stephen’s work: professional craftsmen tend to be like that. It’s the pretenders who seem to be constantly bitching and whining about others who are better than them. Yeah, yeah, form a line, I got my own list of whom them is.
One other thing, Larry, to be clear: it is not logically the case that simply because wise men are dead it is the end times (not that you were saying that). Yet, for example, soon enough I will be dead, and I can assure you, it will not be the end times. Wiping out H. Sapiens Sapiens, as a species, is way harder than you think. We can build fires in caves. Not even rats and roaches can do that!
Here’s a voicemail from “Jimmy” in Los Angeles, as played on Dennis Miller’s show today:
“Those smart cars are so small that my internist is using one now instead of a scope for those 10 year rectal examinations. I didn’t even notice the U-Turn.”
That’s because Jimmy’s internist has patients with big assholes.
Excerpts from Dick Cheney’s speech at the American Enterprise Institute:
“For me, one of the defining experiences was the morning of 9/11 itself. As you might recall, I was in my office in that first hour, when radar caught sight of an airliner heading toward the White House at 500 miles an hour. That was Flight 77, the one that ended up hitting the Pentagon. With the plane still inbound, Secret Service agents came into my office and said we had to leave, now. A few moments later I found myself in a fortified White House command post somewhere down below.
“There in the bunker came the reports and images that so many Americans remember from that day – word of the crash in Pennsylvania, the final phone calls from hijacked planes, the final horror for those who jumped to their death to escape burning alive. In the years since, I’ve heard occasional speculation that I’m a different man after 9/11. I wouldn’t say that. But I’ll freely admit that watching a coordinated, devastating attack on our country from an underground bunker at the White House can affect how you view your responsibilities.”
Later:
“By presidential decision, last month we saw the selective release of documents relating to enhanced interrogations. This is held up as a bold exercise in open government, honoring the public’s right to know. We’re informed, as well, that there was much agonizing over this decision.
“Yet somehow, when the soul-searching was done and the veil was lifted on the policies of the Bush administration, the public was given less than half the truth. The released memos were carefully redacted to leave out references to what our government learned through the methods in question. Other memos, laying out specific terrorist plots that were averted, apparently were not even considered for release. For reasons the administration has yet to explain, they believe the public has a right to know the method of the questions, but not the content of the answers.
“Over on the left wing of the president’s party, there appears to be little curiosity in finding out what was learned from the terrorists. The kind of answers they’re after would be heard before a so-called “Truth Commission.” Some are even demanding that those who recommended and approved the interrogations be prosecuted, in effect treating political disagreements as a punishable offense, and political opponents as criminals. It’s hard to imagine a worse precedent, filled with more possibilities for trouble and abuse, than to have an incoming administration criminalize the policy decisions of its predecessors.”

Lost in the Tori Stafford murder, but I wonder what this is all about….

A Riverdale man has been charged with second-degree murder in the slaying of his 27-year-old sister.
Police allege that just before noon yesterday, Abdirasak Hassan, 24, attacked his sister, Jamila, stabbing her many times in the chest. She was left to die in the bathtub. He then reportedly turned the knife on himself and was taken to hospital with stab wounds to his arm.
I don’t usually post anything about the entertainment industry. If some famous entertainer dies or if we happen to be discussing some new movie or what have you I might throw in a comment or two. I think though, that SDA LNR might be just the place for this one.
That being said has, Hollywood gone completely crazy? If you are a fan of Frank Sinatra or not I can guarantee that if you read this entire article you will stop at certain points to re-read it to make sure you have read it right. I won’t spoil it by telling you what I feel is wrong with it. In fact the first part of the article I can agree with. Leonardo DiCaprio would probably do justice to Frank. It’s the other contenders for the role that has me confused. LINK

“The fascinating thing about the journalism death watch is that we observe it for leading indicators of what may affect everything else.”
“Last night I attended a talk by two China experts and learned that the Chinese government, flush with dollars is looking to acquire the falling Western media empires, instead of more US government securities, as a better investment for the future. And why couldn’t they? There are so many journalists now out of a job and so many teetering newspapers that its not inconceivable that they could, or at least try.
Somehow I don’t think the Chinese will succeed in dominating the information sphere, but not because they can’t afford to buy up all the newspapers. Maybe that would be like trying to control the computational trade by purchasing all the slide-rule making companies.”

“Howard Levitt, her lawyer—who represented Yolanda Ballard, the companion of the late Toronto Maple Leafs owner, in a long-running dispute with his estate, and served as legal counsel to Jean Chrétien’s successful 1990 leadership bid—waved about several documents at her press conference that he claims disprove the allegations.”*

Obama said what???
WASHINGTON – As WND’s billboard campaign to raise visibility of the issues surrounding Barack Obama’s constitutional eligibility yesterday continued to attract eager donors, the president had this to say: “I will never hide the truth because it is uncomfortable.”
“On all of these matter related to the disclosure of sensitive information, I wish I could say that there is a simple formula,” Obama said. “But there is not. These are tough calls involving competing concerns, and they require a surgical approach. But the common thread that runs through all of my decisions is simple: we will safeguard what we must to protect the American people, but we will also ensure the accountability and oversight that is the hallmark of our constitutional system. I will never hide the truth because it is uncomfortable. I will deal with Congress and the courts as co-equal branches of government. I will tell the American people what I know and don’t know, and when I release something publicly or keep something secret, I will tell you why.”
Joseph Farah, WND’s editor and chief executive officer, reacted to Obama’s statement in stunned amazement.
“This is a guy who has no trouble turning over sensitive documents from previous administrations, but he still refuses to release for public view something seemingly so innocuous as his own birth certificate,” said Farah. “This is a double-standard wide enough to sail the Queen Mary 2 through. Statements like this need to be challenged by a vibrant and free press. And that’s what our ‘Where’s the birth certificate?’ billboard campaign is all about.”
More than $35,000 has been raised in the first 72 hours of the national billboard campaign – and the first sign, an electronic one, is already up and online.
Farah, editor and chief executive officer of WND, said he’s calling it “the truth and transparency campaign.”

Tories revert to old habits in Quebec
May 22, 2009 04:30 AM
Chantal Hébert
….Wednesday’s gathering was the biggest Conservative rally in Quebec since the party reunited in 2004.
At $150 a head, it attracted about 2,000 people. It provided a venue for Harper’s first major speech in Montreal since last year’s parliamentary crisis.
And it showcased a party that – even in the absence of the former prime minister – is increasingly reverting to the old habits of the Mulroney era.
Like the other prime ministers who have been in trouble in Quebec in the past, Harper now prefaces his speeches with a list of all the spending his government is expending on the province, including, on that very day, a tentative plan to rebuild Montreal’s aging Champlain bridge.
The party has also fallen back on the age-old Quebec tradition of using patronage appointments to bolster morale….”
Ahh, buying votes and patronage appointments. Just like the good ol’ days….

Maybe the media is starting to realize their boyfriend isn’t returning their calls anymore. Maybe now we’ll see some journalism.
Interesting, I thought I was the only one who watched. I used to love watching the Hendry-Jimmy White battles.
“Chris Ripke is a well-known artist in (Rotterdam). His studio is near a mosque in Insuindestraat. Shocked in 2004 by the murder of director Theo Van Gogh by an Dutch Islamist, Chris decided to paint an angel on wall of his studio and the biblical commandment ‘Gij zult niet doden,’ thou shalt not kill. His neighbors at the mosque found the words ‘offensive,’ and called the mayor of Rotterdam at the time, the liberal Ivo Opstelten. The mayor ordered the police to erase the painting, because it was ‘racist.’ Wim Nottroth, a television journalist, camped out on the spot in protest. The police arrested him, and his film was destroyed. Ephimenco did the same in his own window: ‘I put up a big white sheet with the biblical commandment. Photographers came, and the radio. If you can no longer write ‘do not kill’ in this country, then you are saying that we are all in prison. It is like apartheid, whites living with whites and blacks with blacks. There is a great chill. Islamism wants to change the structure of the country.’ For Ephimenco, part of the problem is the de-Christianization of society. ‘When I arrived here, during the 1960’s, religion was dying, a unique event in Europe, a collective de-Christianization. Then the Muslims brought religion back to the center of social life. Aided by the anti-Christian elite.’”

Blimey down. Joe McCarthy has resurrected in England.
The end result of socialism: “driving [socialist] politicians to suicide”.
Go, Joe.

“MP highlights suicide risk over expenses
LONDON (Reuters) – Embarrassing disclosures about the vast expenses claims of MPs amount to a “McCarthy-style witch-hunt” that risks driving politicians to suicide, an MP warned on Friday.
Nadine Dorries wrote on her blog that the two-week scandal, in which the Daily Telegraph has drip-fed details of how MPs have abused their generous expense allowances, was forcing politicians to the brink.
The scandal has triggered outrage across recession-hit Britain and opposition calls for an early general election.
European and local elections to be held on June 4 are expected to reflect the level of popular disgust, with lower voter turnout and a move towards fringe parties predicted.
“The atmosphere in Westminster is unbearable,” Conservative MP Dorries wrote on the blog (blog.dorries.org ). “People are constantly checking to see if others are OK. Everyone fears a suicide. If someone isn’t seen, offices are called and checked.”
Asked about her comments on BBC radio on Friday, she sought to back away from the suicide suggestion, but said the disclosures, including that politicians charged for duck ponds, horse manure, bath plugs and pornographic films, were forcing MPs to breaking point.
“What the Telegraph are executing is almost a McCarthy-style witch-hunt. The way they are deploying their tactics and the way they are treating MPs has reached a point now at almost two weeks where I think people are seriously beginning to crack.”

Tori’s mother lashes out
DAVE CHIDLEY/THE CANADIAN PRESS
May 22, 2009 01:37 AM
GUELPH–As officers searched for the body of Tori Stafford with the help of her accused abductor, Tori’s mother lashed out at police and the people charged in the homicide.
In Woodstock, Tara McDonald said police targeted her and her boyfriend for 42 days.
“The three times I was interviewed by police, they said, ‘We know it’s you,'” McDonald told the London Free Press yesterday. She said she could barely bring herself to think about the final hours of her “beautiful little princess.”
And McDonald said she’d hold police accountable for how they treated her, her son, Daryn, 11, her boyfriend, James Goris, and friends.
“One officer came into my house and said, `You are my prime suspect.’ He said, `I have been doing this job as long as you have been alive and I have never seen a mother behave like you.'”
Daryn was questioned without a family member present and subjected to horrible suggestions, McDonald said. “He cried all night when he come home,” she said….

The article about Chris Ripke and his painting “thou shalt not kill” on his studio wall is from Nov. 2004. But it shows that the extreme leftists are playing the Islamic radicals like a violin. The Muslims are on the front lines, but the communist thugs are in the war room.
As for the police actions, destroying a protester’s film should be illegal. Maybe they went through “sensitivity training”, i.e. clamping down on dissent. And since when do police take orders from the mayor?
Re: “Banned from weapons for 10yrs & must give a dna sample.”
Presumably, if there is a suicide bombing, they can check the DNA on the remains to look for a match?
