  1. Just a thought on the juxtaposition thing.
Remember some time not long ago the liberals where being compared to the Castaways.
We have someone (WK)filling the role of Gilligan.
We have someone (MI) filling the role of the professor.
The Skipper….well we don’t know who is steering the liberal ship do we?
But we do have a movie star being played by I Ruby.
That leaves the Howell’s and Maryann left and the cast is complete

  2. “Let’s face it, this is shaping up as George W. Bush’s best month in years. The last time the 43rd president enjoyed this kind of vindication was when a bedraggled Saddam Hussein was pulled from a hole in the ground by American soldiers in 2003. All of Barack Obama’s efforts to cast the Bush administration as an immoral stain on American history have not merely collapsed, but collapsed on the heads of Bush’s most public and vocal critics.”
It’s a Good Time to Be George W. Bush

  3. Wicked interview with the Motor City Madman, Ted Nugent, where he takes a punk journalist out behind the woodshed and spanks him. Here’s an excerpt, with some mild offensive language:
Up On Sun: Well, look at Rush Limbaugh. Rush Limbaugh is a substance abusing criminal.
    Ted Nugent: Really?
UP: He was. He was hooked on oxycodone.
TN: You’re one of those guys that’s going to try to equate rush Limbaugh with meth heads?
UP: No, but he was illegally using drugs.
TN: He had a prescription drug problem for a period of time. But, in the final analysis, is Rush in the asset column or the liability column. Did he learn from his mistakes or didn’t he?
    UP: I don’t know. I don’t know him.
TN: You call yourself as journalist and you don’t know that?
UP: I don’t know him personally, I don’t know where he is personally.
TN: I think it’s universally known that Rush beat that demon. And he’s been on the law-abiding side for many more years than he was on the law-breaking side… but to compare Rush’s blink of and eye stumble to the drug culture. Martin, I gotta tell you, when I see you I’m going to have slap the shit out of you. I’ll buy you a mocha, then I’ll knee-cap you. Because that is so soulless. What a far-reaching fantasy.

  5. So is waterboarding torture or not? Obama’s attorney general Eric Holder is nailed….
    —-
[Rep. Dan] Lungren [(R., CA) and the state’s former attorney general] then switched gears to a line of questioning aimed at clarifying the Obama Justice Department’s definition of torture. In one of the rare times he gave a straight answer, Holder stated at the hearing that in his view waterboarding is torture. Lundgren asked if it was the Justice Department’s position that Navy SEALS subjected to waterboarding as part of their training were being tortured.
Holder: No, it’s not torture in the legal sense because you’re not doing it with the intention of harming these people physically or mentally, all we’re trying to do is train them —
Lungren: So it’s the question of intent?
Holder: Intent is a huge part.
Lungren: So if the intent was to solicit information but not do permanent harm, how is that torture?
Holder: Well, it… uh… it… one has to look at… ah… it comes out to question of fact as one is determining the intention of the person who is administering the waterboarding…….

  6. Weisslacker or Beer cheese is a type of cheese that originated in Germany. This cheese is also served on small slices of rye or pumpernickel bread often with some sliced onion. It is a common item on pub and restaurant menus in the Czech Republic, the country with the highest per-capita beer consumption in the world. Weisslacker is also known as bierkäse, bierkaese, beer kaese and beer cheese.

  7. Brian Mulroeney did quite well today!!
Funny thing about the CBC.CA! I left three comments tonite–all three in favour of Brian Mulroney! Not one got printed! Is the CBC Pro-Liberal?? Naaaawww!
PS: Six months ago I wrote a letter to CBC headquarters in Toronto. My question: How much $$ did the CBC’s “The Fifth Estate” spend on the nine–one hour long documentaries they’ve produced to date on the topic of Brian Mulroney-Karlheinz Schreiber-Airbus?? To date, no answer.
(I’ll bet it was considerably more than $300,000!)

but I do know that a person can enjoy a smoke with the beer, in the free nation; the Czech Republic. That country has an outspoken President who stands up against the Bolshivik trend to tramp on the rights of free citizens. He lived under Bolshevick thuggery so he fights the human hating hoards. The President of the Czech Republic is like Ronald Regan: a CHAMPION of Freedom.

  13. Juxtapose this recent Obamassiah cognitive dissonance.
FACT : The Congressional Budget Office now estimates that the Obama deficit for 2009 will be $1.85 trillion – an almost 500% increase over the the last year of the Bush administration.
FICTION: “President Barack Obama, calling current deficit spending “unsustainable,” warned of skyrocketing interest rates for consumers if the U.S. continues to finance government by borrowing from other countries.
“We can’t keep on just borrowing from China,” Obama said at a town-hall meeting in Rio Rancho, New Mexico, outside Albuquerque. “We have to pay interest on that debt, and that means we are mortgaging our children’s future with more and more debt.”
Holders of U.S. debt will eventually “get tired” of buying it, causing interest rates on everything from auto loans to home mortgages to increase, Obama said. “It will have a dampening effect on our economy.”
The Americans have a nutter as a President.

xiat, just finished a short little book by the great economist (Austrian school) Murray Rothbard, called The Case Against the Fed (Ludwig von Mises Institute).
The thing is, with fractional reserve banking ALL BANKS, even in the good times, are technically INSOLVENT, which reality is masked by Fed-supervised cartelized counterfeiting and the fraudulent “insurance” scheme of the FDIC (Federal Deposit Insurance Corp).

  15. I once knew someone who had a rather unique method of judging cheese. He would point to a new discovery among the cheese selections served at his gatherings and say to close acquaintances “Try some of this, it will bung you up real good!”

IMO: i really cant stand people that move to our area & know more about our trials & tribulations then those of us that were born & raised here, In other words conceited shits that think they know everything about everything, that have sold their home in the Emerald City (toronto)& moved to grey & bruce.
Also reminds me of the time i went to Scotland & England back in 1978 to visit family.
I was sitting in this pub in ruddington, nottingham england having a pint when this guy asked me if i was a american No i said Canadian. He proceeded to tell me what was wrong with Canada & how to solve all of our problems of the time.
I asked him how long he lived in Canada? Never been he replied.
So tell me then how is it you know more about Canada then i do?
Of course that was was the end of it.

So, it is like the survival rate, eventually goes to zero.
As far as I know, Austrians talk about balancing bank act, right now everything in banking sector has fallen off the walking rope and seems like it will go through whatever last minute safety net the Fed will try to pull.

  18. Did Biden do the nincompoop routine again, revealing the secret bunker used by the VP in times of crisis?
“According to an account in Newsweek, Biden did give up one of the country’s secrets at another dinner where journalists and politicians make fun of Republicans (and occasionally laugh at each other). Biden told his dinnermates about the existence of a secret bunker under the Vice President’s Residence at the U.S. Naval Observatory.”

  19. Completely biased article on Harper’s relations with Europe and its leaders in the Globe and Mail (“How Harper’s European spring turned sour – Canada’s rigid, ‘bullying’ positions on sealing, the Arctic, Afghanistan and Africa alienate our allies”) by Doug Saunders.
Harper didn’t have to defend the seal hunt – he certainly doesn’t owe Newfoundland any favours – but he did. The journalist even brings up the fact once again that Harper was missing from a photo op at the G-20 summit.
The only European leaders who seem to have any courage and correctly see the Soviets as they are, as does Harper, are those from countries once occupied by the Soviets. But Saunders dismisses this as “returning to the tropes of the Cold War” instead of following the example of Western European leaders “who nowadays would rather avoid confrontation”.
We are also taken to task for military bullying, for complaining that many of the NATO countries aren’t sending many soldiers to Afghanistan or have hemmed them in with restrictions on when and how they can fight.
Then we have the puff piece on Ruby Dhalla (“10 things you should know about Ruby Dhalla”) by Jane Taber. Large photo of elegant Ruby as our representative for women and deserving poor, the heir-apparent of Belinda Stronach.
Thank God for Rex Murphy who tells it like it is. But first you have to wade through a piece on Dick Cheney, which calls for him to be deep-sixed. Good thing this didn’t happen before his outrage against Obama’s publishing of torture methods and photos put an end to the publishing of further photos and helped turn the tide of public opinion.

  20. This bud’s for you.
“The Obama administration’s new drug czar says he wants to banish the idea that the U.S. is fighting “a war on drugs,” a move that would underscore a shift favoring treatment over incarceration in trying to reduce illicit drug use.”
Later-“Mr. Kerlikowske’s comments are a signal that the Obama administration is set to follow a more moderate — and likely more controversial — stance on the nation’s drug problems.”
