I’m so proud of you Saskatchewan. This actually choked me up a little…

I’ve decided to celebrate “International Talk Like A Pirate Day” as sort of a universal day – the United Way of days thing.

Although your moral support is appreciated – send me money.
It has come to my attention that like gravity, nature never sleeps.
So I’ve been using my 2-cycle chain saw to knock down some of the scores of alders that keep growing and blocking my view.
The trunks are bucked up for this winter’s fire wood, but the other 50% of the biomass will get a libreral dose of diesel/gas mixture and go up in smoke.
The enviros may hate it, but one way or another, it’s all carbon whether it falls and rots or it heats my home.
I’m choosing the latter.
Driving less, I don’t think so, its too frink’n cold out! Planting a tree, it would die because its to cold out! Doing nothing, not quite true, I celebrated Earth Day at the Neil Young concert in Kelowna, now that was worth a celebration….
There was so much green on Yahoo, when I first saw it I figured “uh-oh, Obama must have come out.”
for earthday i set my electric heat at 75 f and set my air conditioning at 70f. then ran my diesl truck for 7 and a half hours. i did my part.
91% The comments thread is going well, too. Nothing rude, lots of mentions of “fraud”. Nothing about how we’ve avoided the global cooling that was the concern during the first earth day, and we did it by not really doing anything at all. (ie leave it alone Moonbats, it’s natural and normal)
Well I did my part..my power went off for an hour or so and the internet did it’s daily die. Thank you Sask Power and Shaw.
I get that some people don’t feel compelled to observe earth hour, earth day, etc. And I have no great love for sanctimonious environmentalists. Myself, I turn unneeded lights off etc. as a matter of course and wouldn’t embarrass myself by acting all smug about it. It’s just common sense.
But I am mystified by people who rejoice in their apathy, in the same way as I wonder about atheists who proselytize. And I’m downright amazed by those who actually go out of their way to proudly use extra power, as though they imagine themselves to be making some kind of intelligent statement, and celebrate their own stupidity. Remarkable.
I thought of sitting in my driveway idling my car but that didn’t seem to be one of the options… lol.
Invited David Suzuki to come and shovel my driveway, but he was too busy selling light bulbs so I started up my gas guzzling snow thrower to remove 22cm of snow from 200 feet of driveway.
They didn’t have a category for “Burning my pile of old truck tires.”
I left a few extra lights on, in the hope that any extra carbon that was released will benefit our trees and forests. It certainly won’t be warming the planet.
I’m proud of the citizens of Saskachewan as well.
In reply to some corporate Earth Day propaganda my boss circulated, I suggested that we instead get together and burn tires. Clearly, I was joking but two of my stable-mates took it seriously and STILL wanted to participate. One planned to bring marshmallows. I’m telling you, BLUE STATES ROCK!! Not my state which is a curious shade of lavender fading to red; the state across the river where I work.
On Earth day we need to include
food and how to consume and manage waste for food in right path too
If food companies use all lable for food in fake and used group of strang suppliers that act illegal or take steal other body busienss you should check them out even we heard some compnay related to Saputo and piza pizza go to spice of compnay and made them with small adjustment their spcie unite and delet spice of spice company to made people like ISNA and Dr. Ashraf for Maple lodge and tehir brokers goes under question of fraud interfer data of small companies and steal thier ideas to big pocket of big companies. main issue is to change small company now under their umberllas saying this is big company supplier we have right to posien peopel with poisen food and we have right to do any price or steal some one else businss and bullying small and if small talk go out of our manfacure list and you must force all clients to have one pepperoni with one spice that new innocation change to their items not your originaly spice items when we ask we delveop that food they will say now it is mine and you buy our products and allcomptitors can excess to one spice unite to sell and we manage price taht is again illegal directd by Saputo and ISNA and beechgrover company owned by Pizza pizza to force good small company under their force now. We think ISNA and Saputo and maple lodge employee are control and switching people up and their conduct is more than illegal competition some one need to study why they change spice to their favor of them!!!
changing people view and legally right is not one steps from F or D mark to A mark this is process to correct socity in timely correct direction you can not expect to put all of those above behind bar to fix them need to give them ways to correct first
You should go burn tires, too.
Darrell, you too.
perhaps new needs to find a translator who knows basic grammer, and what’s that language… oh ya, English! — before he bothers posting here. I don’t mean offence new, but every time I read one of your posts I’m left scratching my head by about 5 words in. Also, commas, periods, they are your friends.
As per Earth Day, I did what I always do on these days, which is to entirely forget its occurring and continue doing whatever it was I was going to do anyhow. In this case, it was myself, brother, and brother in law, making plenty of loud noise as we jammed out some metal! Between my constantly running comps, 2 250W stacks (guitar and base) I think I at least contributed to noise pollution, and I was breathing while I did this so my carbon footprint was definitely not reduced.
Come to think of it, the only appropriate response from a ecofreak on Earth Day is to at the very least hold your breath all day long, this would shut them up for 24 hours of blissful eco-bleating-free peace and quiet.
Hey….the phony Muslim is back, alright!Sorry other sda readers, but I missed the laughs.
My God, you’re right! Her “Enter” key’s broken, though.
I wish you had included a category for those wasted as much fossil fuel as they could burn in one 24 hour period.
