  1. not stirred enough, “I’ll be voting Liberal” : of course you will, now sit down.
I’m your neo-con overlord doppelganger, you can call me sir.
Never make a decision without checking with me first, this is your place in life.
I like Prime Minister Steve, I enjoy listening to my Prime Minister, he is the first one in my life that answers questions and actually sounds smart doing it.
Even though you may like him, as you say, I can not allow leftards to think or have opinions that make sense.
As you so willingly oblige, you will never ever be able to think for yourself or make any decisions in your own life, you are a follower, never mistake the place on earth I have set for you.
You are not allowed to vote for my Prime Minister, no matter how much you prefer him, nor will you be able to form any actionable opinions of your own, you will be issued yours.

  2. I also loved the subtle dig about the government getting too involved in the financial sector ala Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac.
The Radical Left diaper wearers at the CBC must absolutely HATE this interview!!!

  3. It’s not difficult to soar like an eagle when surrounded by turkeys…..
Compared to BHO the US MSM would be impressed by Gilles Ducepte’s eloquence and presence…..

  4. By the way, now that Harper has appeared on Kudlow’s show, what can Iggy do to top it? Here are two ideas:
    1. Appear on The View and talk about the oppression of women by everyone who votes for the Conservative Party.
    2. Appear on Martha Stewart’s show, along with Warren Kinsella, and teach Americans a few recipes using Cat Meat during these difficult financial times (I sense that Kinsella is quite an expert on the subject!)

  5. Iggypoo would like us all to know he has friends and connections in the Obama administration, so what?
PM Harper has connections that count. He doesn’t have to pose as PM with Obama on a marquee in Times Square, he’s the real thing.
His interviews are all excellent, Kudrow’s was no different. We can always count on him to do well, he knows his files and is up to speed on them all.
Much to the chagrin of the master of cheap tricks, Katsella and his Liberal fools, our PM is becoming well known in the US, not as a poseur but as a very clever Prime Minister who is capable of steering us through these rough times.
They’re sitting up and taking notice.

  6. God, after years of Chretien and Martin, neither of whom could speak worth a damn, it’s just so refreshing to hear someone who speaks directly, clearly, and intelligently on a variety of subjects without a teleprompter or notes.
This is the first time in my lifetime, except for 1968-1972 when I admired Trudeau, that we actually have a PM I’m proud of. (Say what you want about PET, he was eloquent, and when he sent the tanks into Montreal, I was right there behind him. But after ’72, when he flip-flopped on wage and price controls, I lost all respect for him.)
Of course, as many others have pointed out, Canadian MSM will ignore Harper’s incredible qualities, and instead focus on the Igg-stallation.

  7. “God, after years of Chretien and Martin, neither of whom could speak worth a damn, it’s just so refreshing to hear someone who speaks directly, clearly, and intelligently on a variety of subjects without a teleprompter or notes.”
Just what I was thinking. I don’t ever remember any Canadian politician going on American tv and sounding so articulate and intelligent. Especially about matters concerning the economy. He did Canada proud.

  8. I saw it last night when it was broadcast: it was a pleasant surprise. Larry Kudlow knows how to bring PM Harper out; I got the impression that they like each other.

  9. The thing that really galls is having to see Prime Minister Stephen Harper given his (very intelligent, very articulate) head on the American MSM, via a conservative blog.
What ass***** the members of our MSM are; they don’t give a good gol’ darn about Canadians and what’s good for our country, just getting the corrupt party of their choice back in power so they can continue their partying and their perqs.
I don’t know. Freedom of the press should entail responsible reporting. Too bad it doesn’t seem to be a prerequisite of press freedom in Canada.

  10. I’ll be voting Liberal next time around to ensure Harper remains where he belongs…in a minority position.

Kevin, when it happened I thought it was good to be tough as well, but once the facts came out, that he set up a scare mongering piece with his buddy at the TO Star, just so he could justify sending that strong of a force after a couple of criminals that should have been tracked down and arrested by police (they had most of the info to do so), it became apparent that this was a attack on Canada’s civil liberties just to stoke his own ego

KevinB….I don’t want an eloquent speaker leading my country.I want a guy of action, and who understands world economics. If you want eloquence, try Barny the Dinosaur,or Romper Room.As for Turdeau sending tanks in,that was strictly to appease the Brits, who were rightfully screaming about the kidnapping of their envoy.Had dick all to do with trying to appear “potent”.I am surprised you lost respect for him when he flipflopped.Reading some of your past comments, you both flip flop worse than a fish out of water.Your closet door is creeping open.

  12. Ya know ‘not stirred enough’ you are confusing me. First you tell me that PMSH has all his MPs in some kind of Vulcan mind meld that only allows them to do the bidding of the Master the PM, then you tell me that you like the Master but are scared of his minions whom just a second ago you allege are under the mind control of the Master. If the minions are under the control of a Master that you like why are you scared of the minions?

  13. Just look at South Park’s satire concerning the Prime Minister.
Instead of just having “beady little eyes and flappy heads”, now we have a normal looking character named “Stephan Abootman”. At least now we’re being ridiculed for speaking funny, instead of being ridiculed for being idiots. Coincidence?

  14. Gord; right on with your comment our Prime Minister has done Canada proud at the interviews in the US. This is not the first time that he has done that, I can think back to the Climate Change Conference in Bali, At the meeting of the G7, in Peru at the G20 meeting to discuss the global economic crisis, the beat goes on. I beg all Canadians to return Mr Harper to government with a majority government post haste. We as Canadians will be better off, with more money in our pockets.

  15. So Warren Kinsella is the new guru of the Liberal Party of Canada; I wonder if he came out of the same cesspool as Scott Reid. His rantings are equal to the Beer and pretzel comment of Reid.

  16. As anyone who has read my comments in the past knows, i am a huge fan of Stephen Harper. I consider him to have the potential to be the greatest prime minister in CDN history and one of the top five or ten best in the commonwealth’s history. Clearly he is the most capable of the G20 today. I suspect that a very large percentage of the americans watching these interviews said to themselves “why can’t we have a leader like that?”.
A couple of observations as someone who has followed him closely since the days of the CRA party.
    1. He continues to get better and better – he used to be painfully shy with body language that mirrored his discomfort to those near him.
    2. He seemed to be really enjoying these interviews – his competence wasn’t of a boastful nature; he answered his questioners in a polite, engaging way with not lofty language or pat rhetoric. To me that shows he has a great mastery of the issues.
But it also shows that he has completely overcome his introversion and is now almost blissful when engaged by a non-partisan interviewer without an axe to grind or looking to talk about picayune things like he faces in the cdn msm. (and that includes the blitzer interview)
I am happy that he is happy – he deserves to be.

  17. The difference is that he is not sitting with an a-hole looking to play “gotcha” politics and trip him up on something, like he has to endure up here all the time. Larry is respectfully deferential seeking to be enlightened, as opposed to trying to find a hook to hang him on. That in itself is telling – Kudlow has more knowledge in the remaining hairs on his head then in all the collected gray matter of the Ottawa runt pack…

  18. After how many years (I lost track) of Canadian PMs looking stupid, arrogant, inept, illegible..etc, have we seen a PM (Harper) as articulate, sensible, full of knowledge and respectable as was witnessed in that clip?
I am not a Harpie, nor am I a right winger. But I must say I know a good thing when I see it!

  19. Well done, PMSH!
I’d like some friends to see this. Could someone here provide me with a link? (I’ve tried, in my own incompetent way, to do so myself–with no success.)
    Please?

  20. Over the years I have learned that people that discuss a subject without stammering and stuttering or trying to make partisan points usually know what they are talking about. Those with nothing but a silver tongue usually talk too much, they are easy to spot.

  21. not stirred enough: “The conservative candidate in my riding has shown her irrational side several times in the past.”
Now, let me see, what could her “irrational side” possibly be? One guess will do for all of us. She’s 1) a practicing Christian 2) wouldn’t vote for same-sex marriage 3)is pro-life (read anti-abortion).
You’re a bit too obvious, but at least you have the grace to give credit to PMSH when it’s due.
The American media recognize an up-and-coming star in the political universe. I say, God bless him. He’ll be able to name his price when the stupid voters of Canada send him packing in favour of Iggy.

  22. I am extremely proud to have him as my Prime Minister. I wonder if we’ll hear anything about these interviews from our biased media and if they will mention the fact that the American people are in admiration of our PM and our country. Not likely.
What I do notice about PMSH is that he looks so comfortable in this interview, relaxed and confident. I can’t help but think it could be because they are treating him with respect and asking him intelligent questions and more than that, letting him answer!
I may just have to start watching the American stations, I know I’m no longer watching CBC!
    Good for you Mr. Harper!

  23. {The difference is that he is not sitting with an a-hole looking to play “gotcha” politics and trip him up on something, like he has to endure up here all the time.}
Exactly Skip. That was a PROFESSIONAL interviewer at work, one that understood what he was asking and one that understood the answers. No wonder PM Harper was at ease. It must be comforting knowing you aren’t going to be asked a gotcha like, ‘Obamba says he loves Canada, why can’t you?’
(If you’re wondering, CBC’s Susan Bonner did make this observation the other day.)

  24. Holy Crap! A Canadian Prime Minister that can talk about the current economic challenges, point out how we’re better situated to handle them, yet not gloat over our “superiority” wrt to America. Who woulda thunk it?
The more I see the guy, the more I think the CPC would be closer to a majority if he would just go out and talk to the country more.

  25. “The more I see the guy, the more I think the CPC would be closer to a majority if he would just go out and talk to the country more.”
What he needs to do in the next election is take the dog and pony show to the American networks to get his message across. Several pluses: he’ll actually be able to have an intelligent interview like this one, and more Canadians will actually see it.

  26. I find it quite refreshing to watch a Prime Minister of Canada that isn’t a pond dwelling amphibian hopping from one lie to the next. Someone that looks, acts and sounds like a real man and actually understands what he is talking about.
Canada could actually become a great nation again if we could get rid of the toronto corridor and everything east of there.

  27. Harper was excellent. No glibness. The best PM I’ve ever known.
Who knows, maybe having to duke it out with a socialist MSM all the time just sharpens his wits and skills, conversley making his opponents dull and lazy as they are always being carried.

  28. “Instead of just having “beady little eyes and flappy heads”, now we have a normal looking character named “Stephan Abootman”. At least now we’re being ridiculed for speaking funny, instead of being ridiculed for being idiots. Coincidence?”
We speak funny? I thought it was everyone else.

  29. “I wonder if we’ll hear anything about these interviews from our biased media” — yes, likely. I was hoping for some coverage of the PM’s New York visit in today’s newspaper — nothing, NOTHING. I could not believe it. This was the Ottawa Citizen. It is very demoralizing. Also, MSM knows that Canadians relish any and all attention from U.S. media — why would they ignore such an obvious success on the part of Stephen Harper? It is small minded and petty.

  30. “Take a look. Prime Minister Harper is very impressive.” Alexis Glick.
“Why, yes Alexis, he is and we are extremely proud of our intelligent, handsome Prime Minister and his clean, well run government. We had a corrupt quagmire of a government, for years in Canada. We just recently crawled out from under the tentacles of what we call, with no affection, the Liberano Dark Ages. We understand what you are up against here, Alexis, and as your best friends and your next door neighbour we are inviting you to send for help when you need it. We, as a nation, have evolved into fully appreciating having an adult as our top man in government”. Jane Tabor and Craig Oliver, CTV news.
Wouldn’t the above be a refreshing thing to behold on our own newscasts? The Canadian msm are blackening the Canadian air waves with
smoke from their burned out agenda spewing 2 cylinder motors pushing a old overweight crate of cronyism that is as archaic as the Liberano drums they pound day in and day out.
Pity those ignorant msm fools but do not spare them from ridicule. Good job, on all frounts, SDAers. Thanks for the links and the great comments.

  31. Jema54: “…smoke from their burned out agenda spewing 2 cylinder motors …”
For max effect, should read 2-stroke.

  32. My most impressive moment with Stephen Harper was during the so-called debates when that little commie Jackal Laydown was yelling at him about his economic plan. Harper just gave a heavy sigh and continued in his low key presentation of his platform. I still wish he had said “We looked at your NDP economic track record and how your party had driven Ontario and Saskatchewan almost into bankruptcy and decided that wasn’t the way to go!”
Could you just imagine Dion being interviewed by these professionals in the US yet Liberals blindly voted for him as their leader. Wonder what the interviewers would have said when Dion asked for “do overs”!

  33. Perhaps its time all of us to notice who the company’s are that advertise during the news. Then send them letters stating that I will boycott and tell others to boycott your products and services due to the fact you advertise during the lieberal biased newscasts.
Months ago I received an offer from Scotiabank for a credit card. Who was on that card? Laurier?? called them and asked why is he on the card ? Their response ” didn’t know” So I explained to them my feelings about lieberals and requested a response from management, I’m still waiting.

An Interview with Canadian Prime Minister Stephen Harper
What follows below is the transcript of my interview with Canadian Prime Minister Stephen Harper on last night’s show. Mr. Harper is a trained economist and quite an impressive statesman. Our northern neighbors are lucky to have him at the helm. We covered a wide range of key topics including the ailing banking system, risks of protectionism, oil sands and autos. As you’ll see below, Mr. Harper offered some very wise observations and insight.
LARRY KUDLOW: All right. We are honored to welcome Canadian Prime Minister Stephen Harper to the program. Mr. Prime Minister, thank you very much………

  35. justnotabletothink:
Where, pray tell, have I “flip-flopped”? Times and dates, please, and I’d prefer times and dates from this universe, as opposed to the alternate one where you and lookout appear to spend most of your time.

  36. for once, an interview with a politician that I actually enjoyed.
Now, that’s change I can believe in.

  37. This love in for Harper is disturbing. I was impressed I admit that he touted our low corporate rates, which is good.
But the so called NCC Harper who opposed corporate welfare goes on to tout auto bail outs.
This is the same Harper who has done nothing to fight the free speech Stasis of the CHRC.
And the same Harper who dropped a ludicrous Liberal budget on our laps.
He ceased being conservative a year or so ago
