1. I am sorry… I have been laughing for the past 15 minutes thinking about Babylonian’s comment: ‘He put her in a wheelchair, and put her wheelchair in a wheelchair.’
   I am so going to look for the first opportunity to use that.

2. I asked the question on a G&M thread why it was all right to attack Christians in an open forum but not Muslim or Jewish people. This was the Sarah Palin era. I never read the responses, I rarely did but the next day they had a piece on the upsurge of Muslim and Jewish baiting I guess. I used to ask logical questions, was called every phobe one can think of and a lot spelled wrong too. Gave up after Dion was done and the G&M took on Iggy love. At that point it seemed non-rational to boost the site meter.

3. Andrea is given a voice on a Christian station, a group she would be willing to nail to the wall. When she goes in for the taping, it would totally escape her that a group she would vilify at every opportunity, allows her the freedom to speak her ‘mind’.
   God Bless David Mainse, the founder of 100 Huntley St. and Crossroads Communication whose brainchild this was, as I wouldn’t give her a minute of air time. I quit watching Michael Coren as too many of his guests precipitate a dangerous rise in the b.p. Just one example is the massively dense frequent guest Sid Ryan and a couple of females I would have drowned in a brown bag while they were still kittens.

4. Feminists don’t oppose sharia law because they reject the idea of a universal humanity, and a university morality.
   They are relativists and instead promote the idea of separate beliefs and behaviour according to a group ‘consensus’. So, if your ‘group’ which is defined by ethnicity or religion, has a particular set of beliefs and behaviour, then the postmodern relativist considers that it is your ‘human right’ to live in such a manner. They consider such a choice, i.e, to live by a group set of behaviour/beliefs, a personal contract.
   To consider that a universal morality exists is, to the relativist, a symptom of ‘imperialism’.
   Now, the FACT that this group’s beliefs/behaviour might be profoundly regressive, unequal, unfair etc, according to our standards – is considered irrelevant to the postmodern feminist. They focus only on the WILL of the members of the group.
   What they utterly ignore is that our own society at one time had similar values to, eg, unreformed Islamic beliefs. We changed because we felt that these beliefs/behaviours violated more basic, non-group, natural standards of equality and freedom.
   Postmodern leftists reject and ignore these basic standards and instead, define them not as ‘natural laws’ but as ‘imperialist agendas of the West’.
   So, they support the isolation and regressive mindsets of pre-industrial groups because they consider change to our mode of life, an ‘imperialist agenda’. Ah well.

5. That woman states a charge against Ezra and all she has is the cartoons. I’m impressed she could even grasp at that to not make her point. I guess reporting the news, if it shows people in a poor light, is against their human rights. What about reporting murders? Is that going to be against the rights of the murderers?
   As I recall, it wasn’t the feminists who fought to keep Sharia Law out of Canada, it was Muslim women who fought to keep it out. Feminists haven’t fought for the rights of Muslim women….to my knowledge….ever. …..crickets.

   ET, their motives are a lot more cynical besides the liberal “universal humanity, and a university morality” mindframe. Feminists have little interest in the plight of Muslim women because they live in nuclear families and have a high birth rate and most likely aren’t going to participate in the endorsed single mom life style nor rush into abortions on demand. The bottom line is that feminists aren’t going to get much out of them so they are off of their radar screen. Oh, sure, once in awhile they offer some crumb of solidarity, but, it’s as bogus as they are.
   The main things that NA feminists tie up their time with is keeping abortion on demand flowing with as minimal restrictions as possible including late term partial birth abortions and keeping the grant money flowing into campuses for their lame “womens studies” re-education courses that they inflict on the young and gullible.
   Ezra was being chivalrous in just calling Andrea a “clown”. The cure for bad ideas is to refute them and ridicule them into oblivion. We’ve all been too polite.

7. It’s about time someone like Ezra busted her chops. When Coren pressed her for clarification, she never did expand, just kept dodging. Typical lefty bully throwing out unsubstantiated slurs, then astonished when the victim fights back.
   First time I ever saw Andrea on the Coren show, I was struck by how she came across as humourless and condescending. I even emailed Coren and commented on what a sourpuss she was.
   I kept trying to recall who she reminded me of. Then it came to me – ever see the movie “Chicken Run”? Mrs. Tweedie!! the woman who owned the chicken farm and was planning on sending all non-producing hens into the chicken pie machine. Now I can’t watch Coren on Monday night without seeing Mrs. Tweedie whenever the camera’s on Andrea.

8. I have a problem with one of the concepts being expressed in this thread … that being that Ezra didn’t vilify Muslims.
   He did … he offended their sensitivities by publishing the cartoons. It’s not up to us to decide when someone feels vilified.
   BUT, that’s not the point.
   For instance, what is wrong with vilifying any group, especially if they deserve it … be they Muslim or Christian. For example, if you “vilify” Muslims by drawing attention to supremacist or totalitarian aspects of their faith, so be it.
   Freedom of expression means having the freedom to be offended; otherwise, we hand the hammer over to whomever can cry “I’m a victim” the loudest.

9. Who is this Andrea person? I think she might be an official woman (h/t Ezra)so I guess I should I feel bad that I’ve managed to live a very nice life without having ever heard of her – but I don’t.

10. While she is everything Ezra says she is, I would prefer Ezra stayed above name calling or at least used “nicer” terms like asinine and ridiculous.

13. Paul, Ezra most definitely did NOT “vilify” Muslims. I understand your point – he may have “insulted” Muslims, and we cannot control who takes offense to such publications.
    However, vilify is akin to “slander” and “defame” more than “insult”. We don’t have the right to vilify groups, even if they do deserve it. BUT publishing cartoons like these in NO WAY slanders or defames Muslims. They did that to themselves with their reaction to them.
    Does publishing a cartoon about an overweight person “slander” fat people? Nope. Might insult them, but like you said, “Freedom of expression means having the freedom to be offended”. That, however, is not the same as vilification. Ezra was entirely correct in calling her out for such a charge.

15. Watching it again, I’m almost convinced she doesn’t know what “vilify” means. I think she meant “offended”, and ironically, slanders Ezra with that mistake. She was joking, but he probably could sue her.

    Can you explain ‘rubbed it in their noses’?
    And if ‘reporting’ of any foul deed is classified as villification, let’s not hear about anything bad going on in the streets of Toronto…wouldn’t want to ‘villify’ the gangs and pushers now would we?
    On the side, a relative was accused of hate-mongering recently by another relative.
    His crime: e-mailing pictures of the grossly absurd and hateful slogans on Islamic signs from a hateful anti-American and anti-Israel ‘rally’ in Europe.

17. Islam needs no vilification. The Koran does the best job there is. As is the life of their self proclaimed Prophet. By the way I feel the same about Muslims as I did Soviet Citizens who had to endure Communism. I detest the whole phony Religion based on a desert Bandit with sex issues. Using belief to create an Empire.
    That does not mean I do the people. I loathed Communism’s collectivism of the Individual with its Death cult conjoined to personality cults. It does not mean I hate Russians as people.
    Both types of individuals in these groups suffer, even those who benefit from the hatred inherent in both systems.
    Its kills all humanity in people. Makes them monsters with no hope.
    Ezra of course kicked butt. Coren can be naive at times. Still a good show though. He should have a few stronger horses appear on air for gravity.
    This women was wrong about sharia law stopped by Feminists. It was Muslim Women with conservative , libertarian & other groups mainly Blogs. Not the entitled , moneyed, dizzy Dames of disordered priorities. It was Normal Women who stopped it. No one heard a peep from this dweeb or her cohorts of calumny.

18. I have been waiting a long time for Andrea to get the smackdown she so richly deserves. The smug woman wouldn’t know how to talk her way out of a paper bag without her talking points. If you watch the show regularly she never actually answers a question just repeats the talking points she rehearsed before the show. They know the general range of topics to discuss and I’m sure she does her research and just gets out the old 3X5 index cards and writes down her entire set of comments for the show. If anyone actually gets her back on topic, she hems and haws and tries to change the subject. Well done EZRA…

    However, I think Coren dislikes any competition, so having limp-minded guests serves his purpose very well.
    As others have said here, many of us have stopped watching Coren because of the often very low level of discussion.
    What a shame. What a wasted opportunity.
    Ezra turned all that around last night. I hope he becomes a regular on the show: I might tune in again.

20. Niiiice smackdown. Andrea looks dumber than a bag o’ hammers there, trying to dodge the big, huge silver bullet from Ezra and Coren is not giving her an inch. Now THAT is an interview!
    She also looks like the typical female HR department goof who makes up the five inch thick book of rules one finds in the average Canadian organization these days.
    I use the word “female”, because “woman” implies human being. Whereas “female” allows all manner of other possibilities. Deer ticks for example come in the female variety, as do dogs and water buffalo. And warthogs!

21. earlier in this thread, I refer to Ezra going “off track” when he refers to her as a clown.
    In Ezra’s blog, he brings this up, wondering if “ass” and “clown” were the best he could do.
    I’m not saying he was incorrect. Far from it. Only that these are not the usual for Mr. Levant…
    It is Andrea that seems to need written notes to keep her on track.

    That’s because you don’t understand what the word “vilify” means. You’re in good company though, Andrea The Warthog didn’t understand it either and she’s a real live activist.
    It means “to make vicious and defamatory statements about.” according to the Online Dictionary. Ezra didn’t do that. He published a set of cartoons depicting Mohamed. So Muslims and Andrea The Warthog can claim he was offensive against Islam (because he broke the Islamic rule against depicting Mohamed), but they can’t claim he vilified Muslims. But then he didn’t have to, their actions spoke loud enough.

    I see. In Canada we’re not allowed to express opinions that could be considered aggressive or confrontational to a government bureaucrat.
    Funny thing, she didn’t mention anything about promoting hatred, of inciting violence, the definition of a hate crime. She mentioned being “confrontational.” Hmmm..

    This is a long video from 1985, interview with a Russian KGB defector explaining the long term goals of the KGB towards the West. 15 – 20 years to indoctinate a new generation and demoralize a nation. Calver, Moon, Hall, Lynch, Miller et al are the fruits of that campaign. What strikes me most is how adamant this guy is that, you can argue these people blue in the face and they can’t change their mindset till a bullet hits it. And some of them not even them. The parallel between what Russia was attempting and Jihad today is amazing.
    It really is worth watching as it explains why we have leftoid, dhimmified, useful idiots and yes he calls them exactly that. It should be required viewing at every university.
