Good evening ladies and gentlemen, welcome to SDA Late Nite Radio. Tonight, for your delectation and pursuant to the last chance we’ll have here in the SDA LNR studios to post a two-hour video under the guise of the free time some of us have been fortunate enough to enjoy during this holiday season, here is geneticist and anthropologist Spencer Wells presenting his Journey of Man documentary (1:53:21).
Your Reader Tips are, as always, welcome in the comments.

Would it be of any strategic use for IDF to set off flares, fake an attack and then sit back and watch the media reaction?
Wouldn’t that be funny?
Actually PP,that is an excellent idea. But then we here at SDA know what whores the MSM are.It would be fun to watch the reaction though.
Here’s a poll which could go horribly wrong. Or right.

vitruvius – the theory of Single Origin for anything, be it human or other forms of life, has great support in the sciences. So, Spencer’s theory that our species, homo sapiens, originated from ONE individual in Africa, has great merit.
I, being genetically a ‘dubitando’, have problems with this, primarily because I hesitate over singular expressions of a ‘universal’ Form. Since I’m not a follower of the Darwinian random shot and let’s hope it survives theory but instead of an Informational Process that offers several quite functional options each of which WOULD survive and don’t need any Natural Selective Testing..then..
I think that when the energy-state is right in the environment, ie, temperature, other life forms, water, etc..when these are right or ‘full of energy’, then the planetary Information System (that’s quadrant III in my Cartesian square and I think you’ve read this)…will offer several versions of a more general model. So rather than ONE individual in Africa, the model will offer several in different parts of the world.
Now, whether it’s the Original One in Africa or the Several Versions in Other Parts of the World, they will meet up, mingle and merge, more or less, not only retaining but adding variations. So, we get the diversity of physical type that we now have in the world – and there is a great diversity of types, albeit we remain ONE species.
That means we are ONE Race, so to speak. We are all human – all of us. It also means that we can’t speak of ethnic ‘purities’ or make such claims.

APOLOGIZING TO THE ARMENIANS
‘Eroding One of Turkey’s Biggest Taboos’
More than 25,000 Turks have added their names to an online statement apologizing for Ottoman war crimes committed during World War I. SPIEGEL spoke with campaign initiator Baskin Oran.
SPIEGEL: Since the beginning of your online campaign, more than 25,000 Turks have signed a statement apologizing for war crimes committed by the Ottoman Empire during World War I. More than a million Armenians lost their lives in the catastrophic events, which began in 1915. Is this the beginning of a critical examination of the past?
Baskin Oran: The Turks who are now apologizing are not responsible for the sins of 1915. There is no collective crime, but there is a collective conscience. With our campaign, we are eroding one of Turkey’s biggest taboos. But still, the campaign is coming decades late.
SPIEGEL: Turkish nationalists say that you are damaging the country’s image. Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan agrees.
Oran: I disagree. I think that our image abroad will actually improve. Beyond that, though, it is the grandchildren of the Armenians who should finally hear an apology — in a country like Turkey, where there is no “culture of apology.””

“Harper affirms Cdn position on Armenian Genocide
Published: Wednesday, April 19, 2006
MANITOBA — Prime Minister Stephen Harper affirmed Wednesday his belief that 1.5 million Armenians were killed in a ‘Genocide’ nearly a century ago during the First World War.
For decades, previous Canadian governments refused to call it ‘genocide’ for fear of upsetting Turkey, which is blamed for the massacre.”

“Jimmy Carter & Habitat for Humanity: Celebrity slum lords?
The road to hell is paved with good intentions — and, apparently, the homes in the neighborhoods along that hellish path are built by Jimmy Carter and Habitat for Humanity.
All Jimmy Carter-bashing and schadenfreude aside, do the residents have a bona fide case or are these professional moochers trying to pin blame on others for their own lack of personal responsibility?
Probably a bit of both. A few of the houses seem to have been clearly uninhabitable. In 2005, the cracks in one foundation reportedly “became so severe that the house had to be lifted and settled on piers. Engineers hired by HabiJax found six feet of debris buried under the soil,” reports the NYT.
I’ve watched enough of these “environmental justice” activists to know that they coach their clients to complain about vague ailments (”mysterious skin rashes”) that have no relation in reality to the environmental conditions they claim are the cause. These professional grievance-mongers have blocked countless private redevelopment and remediation projects — and milked tens of millions in settlements — based on bogus scientific and medical claims.
In the end, I can’t say I feel too much sympathy for Jimmy Carter and his Hollywood partners. The Left has stoked both eco-zealotry and the entitlement culture with impunity. Perhaps they’ll feel a little less inclined to feed those beasts after getting bitten squarely in the ass.”

Who says conservative bloggers don’t do reporting?
By Michelle Malkin January 4, 2009 05:59 PM Before we fully launch into the action-packed first week of 2009, I want to provide you with a year-end wrap-up of original blog reporting on this site and across the conservative blogosphere. Why? Well, over the weekend, a few bloggers on both the left and right perpetuated an ill-informed and self-serving myth that demands debunking. The myth is that conservative bloggers don’t do reporting.

“New Little Ice Age Instead of Global Warming? June 4, 2007
“Abstract: Analysis of the sun’s varying activity in the last two millennia indicates that contrary to the IPCC’s speculation about man-made global warming as high as 5.8° C within the next hundred years, a long period of cool climate with its coldest phase around 2030 is to be expected.”
“If Dr. Landscheidt is correct about this, we are about to enter an extended period of much reduced solar activity and therefore an extended period of global cooling, which will offer the first real world test of the IPCC’s CO2 forced global warming claims. On the downside of this, a return to climate conditions not experienced since about 1670 by the year 2030 will bring much hardship to millions, as many of the world’s foodbowls fail due to extreme cold, while demand for fossil fuels will increase just so people can survive the extreme cold in higher latitudes.
Unfortunately, the current obsession with global warming pseudoscience combined with hefty increases in the price of carbon use being planned and/or implemented in various countries means that very few will be prepared for the sudden significant downturn in temperatures likely to begin manifesting during the next few years, and as is so often the case, the poor will be the ones that suffer most due to the incompetence of certain prominent scientists prepared to over state the soundness of their science on the basis of a prejudicial belief, combined with a well orchestrated media campaign that has convinced much of the public and policymakers of the need to make huge sacrifices in order to ’save the planet’ from a human induced fever that in fact probably only exists in the minds of the ‘true believers’.”

REYKJAVIK, Iceland (AP) — A nationally televised meeting between Iceland’s prime minister and other political leaders was forced off the air Wednesday night when angry protesters disrupted the broadcast.
For more than two decades, the leaders of Iceland’s political parties have met every New Year’s Eve over champagne and spiced herring to talk about the year ahead on Iceland’s Channel 2 television.
But this year’s show with Prime Minister Geir Haarde was cut short 45 minutes into the program when a torch-wielding crowd stormed Reykjavik’s Hotel Borg in an attempt to get to the studio.”
