Michael Ignatieff today on CTV’s Question Period;
“I think I’ve never lacked the capacity to make decisions, but a decisive person knows when he has to make decisions, then makes the decisions he has to make, when he has to make them. I’ve made it very clear I would not hesitate to make decisions, if the party gives me the honour of electing me leader.”

Apparently, the patient is about to be removed from life support after an unsuccessful attempt to prorogue his political life. Rumour has it that the brain surgeons involved in the failed operation are refusing to put down their scalpels and are even threatening reprisals against someone in the media room.

Oh wake up everyone, Warren Kinsella is now running the PMO in 2010. Can you say lawfare gulag express?
“..I’ve never lacked the capacity to make(proven) decisions, but a (proven)decisive person knows when he has to make (proven)decisions, then makes the (proof)decisions he has to make, when he has to make them. I’ve made it very clear I would not hesitate to make (proof)decisions, if the party gives me the honour of electing me leader.”
Déjà vu!!!?
(excuse my French)
I liked it better when he was silent…..
Da proof is da proof people, This over-educated clown reminds me of the WKRP scene where Carlson was running for mayor of Cincinatti and Johnny was his campaign manager, his advice when questioned about anything was to say, “I’ll take a stand that’s firm yet flexable. Soon he to will be taking his talking points and orders from a man who couldn’t even get a woman named Chow to change her name to Layton, oh the humanity of this coalition of the clowns, the Christmas gift that hopefully lasts until a Harper landslide.
cal2: I’d say Bob Rae isn’t the least bit self-destructive; he’s just simply destructive. Everything he’s touched has turned to trash…but he keeps on blazing that trail, for pure self-aggrandizement. If anyone here is familiar with Tammy Bruce, you’d know she would diagnose him in a second with malignant narcissism disorder, which is the true sign of a leftist pol. Tear everything down around you in order to feed your ego – even your own best friends. (Remember, when Rae dropped out as the 3rd place finisher at the Lib convention in 2006, he could have crowned his old buddy Iggy the winner…but he pointedly refused to send his delegates to his lifelong friend, inferring to them that they should back Dion. Who else but a sick, destructive-minded person would do such a thing?)
Dion — NOT a leader ….
Ignatieff – NOT a (Canadian) leader …
Why is it I have this subconscious image of Iggy as a Russian Cossack .. you know .. with that big persian lamb chapka (hat) on top of his head … grimacing at us through those cossack eyebrows and holding a sword in one hand and a rifle in the other … is it only me ???
Rob C
Sir Winston Churchill “crossed the floor” several times. Ronald Reagan started political life as a registered Democrat and then “crossed the floor” to the Republicans. Both of these great men crossed when they believed the Party they were with had left them. They both had firm political beliefs and when their respective parties no longer subscribed to the same beliefs as themselves, they did the honourable thing and joined a Party more in line with their positions.
Ignatieff is as shallow as a kiddies swimming pool.
WOW, the new tactic by Liberals is to praise the G.G. for calling a Time-out so the leaders can go to their rooms and cool off.
That didn’t take long for the Liberals to shift the blame from Harper to make it a wise choice by the G.G. .
Typical Liberal spin and now Iggy wraps himself in the canadian flag to pull a Paul Martin stunt by asserting that “canadians” want Harper removed by the Liberals and not the Liberals that lust for power.
Where the hell are these canadians?
I have yet to meet any of these poeple that agree with Layton/Gilles/and Dion about overthrowing the Goverment and giving 1/2 a Billion dollars to Quebec .
Wasn’t the AdScam about exposing Election fruad to use tax dollars to buy votes in Quebec?
Liberals haven’t changed one bit, they think that it’s THEIR money when we pay taxes .
I think that the liberal supporters that have liberal memberships would be a upset about this. You just don’t go into the backroom and let a caucus decide a leader for the party. They are going to try this and it’s going to backfire on them. I think PMSH will remind them anytime he can about how they had no say in who was the liberal leader.
Liberals will implode if they can’t get back to power asap. (“We Liberals must get back to power asap!!!”)
Their whole raison d’etre is to sit in the bottomless Canadian centre, collect taxes and dispense the money to their friends in Canada and China.
Liberals are to power and money like … flies to a hot turd.
Here’s something that appeared in the Toronto Star on Friday, Nov. 14, from Ignatieff’s speech the day before, announcing that he’s running for the Liberal leadership:
“At precisely the moment when the global economic system is turning to governments around the world to become the guarantor of last resort, Canada is ruled by a party that actually still believes that government is the problem, not the solution.”
But most of the economic problems were caused by government interference, such as the insistence that Freddie Mac and Fannie Mae give mortgages to people who couldn’t afford them. If governments had solutions to anything — like poverty, for instance — they should have been implemented by now, and the problems wiped out. But still they endure.
The only thing that government can do is use force. The use of force is not a “solution” to anything in human affairs, except when it comes to self-defence.
You’d think a smart guy like Michael Ignatieff would understand this kind of thing, wouldn’t you?
Why don’t the Liberanos just use all three leaders? After All, that is what they are ALL proposing to the Canadian people, with their planned coup?
What could be better for the country..err..party of greed and unmitigated lust for Power – at any cost to Canadians?
Igor sounds eerily like Kramer on Seinfeld…

Also reminds me of former PM Chretien:
Just what we need… another Liberal leader who flaps his lips endlessly but really says nothing at all. Chretien, Martin, Dion… more Liberal nonsense, following in the footsteps of Kramer from Seinfeld…
From the comments on the Macleans article:
“Stephen Harper has now become a threat to Canada’s stability and democracy. Since he decided to make all Bloc supporters “seditionists” and “unpatriotic,””
This, this is what passes for intelligence on the dark side.
“”I think I’ve never lacked the capacity to make decisions, but a decisive person knows when he has to make decisions, then makes the decisions he has to make, when he has to make them. I’ve made it very clear I would not hesitate to make decisions,”
I think I understand….this sounds strangely similar to English, but is, in fact, a new academically hybrid linguistic codex….an amalgam of politico-speak and secessionist Francophonics used by professional apologists.
In effect what he is saying that he can only decide to make decisions if the party decides for him first.
What is WRONG with some people–thinking Pierre Elliott Trudeau was charismatic and sexy (yuck) and that Michael Ignatieff is electable because he’s tall, dark, sexy (?), and intelligent–because he’s a professor??? (Look at the fate of the last professor they made leader …)
I just can’t stand that asinine, smug, superior smirk of his. The guy’s lived outside of Canada for 30 years and very recently referred to himself as an American.
Canadians who think he’s just the right–well, left–guy to lead the Librano$ might be right–well, left–about his suitability to lead the Liberal Party of Canada, but he’s certainly not the right choice for Prime Minister.
The guy’s changed his colours too many times, used his parents’ pedigree to get parachuted into a riding he had no right to, and can’t even make any decisions–at least not until he’s elected the LPC leader. What’s he got in his resume to recommend him?
Nada.
Prior to his disappearing act, Iggy said more than enough in support of the coalition with the separatists to fill a few dozen Conserative election commercials.
Kinsella put the muzzle on him about two days too late.
And his signature on the document supporting the coalition with the separatists is there for all to see. The proviso that he signed ‘last’ is irrelevant, other than to note that he’s a follower, and not a leader.
Iggy will wear this shameful debacle the same as Rae, Dion and Layton.
We have lots of money and we won’t let anyone forget it.
The fact that Iggy is going to become the leader of the LPC on the strength of a backroom deal is just icing on the cake. These Liberals really do think they’re entitled to power without consulting the people, be it the full electorate or even their own party members.
Harper should yank the $1.95/vote party welfare subsidy in the budget.
Bring on Iggy, and bring on the election.

Actually this makes perfect sense. It is exactly like when you see a proof and know it is a proof because a proof is a proof so if you see a proof and know it is a proof than you can decide that making a decision is necessary to make when you decide on the decision. Understand?
The one thing that bothers me is that the media will give Ignatieff a pass.
HIS hands are just as dirty as Dions’ and Raes’.
Did Ignatieff not sign the coalition agreement?
Did he himself not want to hiyjack the results of the Canadian Federal Election?
Yes his hands are quite dirty.
Yes, the complete duplicity–treachery–of the MSM is a very serious problem. Not that it was any surprise, but their outright LIES, as the rallies were actually taking place and citizens could verify those lies in real time, were breathtaking.
Like their political heroes in the Liberal Party, these weasels will stop at nothing. I suggest we all keep giving to the CPC. That’s one way to keep them ahead of the ravenous pack.
Oh oh Canada.
My oath, Iggy signed last? It’s 10 sheets of signatures with the last 3 partially filled, the last sheet with the least signatures (3).
If I reorder the pdf, I can show that Iggy was the 3rd to sign. Jane Tabor is a moron.
BTW: I give Taliban Jack an extra star for the professional (it least it looks like, compared to the others) look of the NDP petition.
Buffalo Bob Rae is a lubrano*. Ugh, Tonto.
Si. “incontrolable y excesiva que se observa en episodios maníacos de”.
Add this verbal dribbage from Buffalo Bob Rae, aka Mao Stlong’s nephew, to the Separatist Coalition Wall of Shame’s Quotations Museum.
Buffalo Bob Rae obviously suffers from verbal logorrea**. See link to http://www.lubrano below.
