Why this blog?
Until this moment I have been forced to listen while media and politicians alike have told me "what Canadians think". In all that time they never once asked.
This is just the voice of an ordinary Canadian yelling back at the radio -
"You don't speak for me."

The running of the bulls
And here I thought we were going to see a piston come flying through the hood….oh well, the irrational stampede was a nice touch…
All rev’d up and nowhere to go…
Stupid terrorizing animals like that.
LOL. I was waiting for the piston as well.
Is that the last gasps of GM, Ford and Chrysler .. scaring off the bulls ..???!!!
Looks like a protectionist president Obama is a sure thing now .. and Ontario manufacturing becoming a rust belt as Obama demands that the Detroit Big 3 bring the jobs back to the US if they want their $50 Billion bailout …!!!!
Pray for Harper-McCain wins .. both free traders ..!!
Spooked cattle… …for those who didn’t get it…
Think of the Carbon being released !
They should have at least painted the car green !
When the Monza fired up and the herd scattered, one bull stood still.
The big bull claimed he wasn’t going anywhere, since their pasture had very sound fencing.
Two little bulls claimed he was being insensitive, that the herd was worried the pasture was coming apart under their feet.
One of the little bulls thought it was ridiculous that as the pasture was clearly in danger, the big bull told everybody that the smart would be able to eat more grass while the others panicked.
The other little bull thought the big bull’s reaction was lacking, but needed three do-overs to get his pasture plan out to the herd. In the end, the little bull thought he could stop the stampeding by meeting with the cows for a month.
Pretty funny Kate.
Sorry for going OT, but, was that you over at Maclean’s? Bob Rae fed the question to the interviewer and Ignatieff was the cameraman?
Terrific.
Too bad you couldn’t re-create that whole scene but have it by the sea with lemmings instead of cattle. You can bet that Warren Buffet is looking at the stock market right now as a very tempting Buffet indeed. I’ll bet he’s buy big time at these levels. When fear rules your decisions the Buffets of the world get richer.

Couldn’t be Dion driving. He only tried it twice.
Getting them back in the Barn
That works too, Although a dog is cheaper.
Btw thanks Yukon i thought it was a monza but was not sure i have not seen one in awhile.
haha.
Here’s another analogy for the markets.

Bad news: the BCHRT let Macleans and Steyn walk. See Coyne’s blog at Macleans.
Steynonline too.
Brilliant! Both to Kate and Yukon Gold,
Nothing like the smell of fried clutch in the morning – all noise and no rubber.
Video also summed up Saskachewan’s economy as viewed by Ontario.
Video also summed up GTA Librano voters…
Video also summed Jason Cherniak, as viewed by . . .
Actually, it also sums up the fact that this dreary economy is being chased by an ill-wrought economic machine.
The market & herd mentality, nice symbolism.
Yup. Look at the scar on my forehead. Yup.
what kinda car is that? It’s not a Gremlin yet that is what my brain keeps tellin me to type…
Being an Albertan for ever I just love Sask humor, a lot of the best things about Alberta are from Sask, including my wife, but this is a great video, I could just see little Lenin Jack and the paisley dweeb Dion running for their lives stampeding cows and calves into the ground while Harper stood there daring that steel bully to cross the fence.
matt,
It’s a Chevy Monza, probably a 1978 or so.
This reminds me of a friend who bought a street Vega with a blown big block shoe-horned in. It was literally undriveable.
The video would have been more interesting if this chap had a friend to act as cameraman. I was waiting for a wheelstand or at least a burnout.
Instead, I got to see cows.
Yukon Gold,
I apologize in advance if I am intruding inappropriately on your neat fable, but is it not also the case that the big bull had warned the little bulls many months before that there was danger, but that he had planned for it and would save their little chicken asses. Upon hearing the sober warning from the big bull, the little bulls told him he was scaremongering to deflect attention away from the fact that their farts were changing the climate in the pasture.
A welcome addition, Felis.
Stupid terrorizing animals like that.

Apparently you haven’t spent enough time around cattle. They’re startled not terrified.
They hear a loud noise, they run a couple of dozen steps, they see the aren’t being chased, they wonder if the noisy thing has some food, they wander back. Repeat as necessary.
…like MOO eh.
