  1. It became a non-story as soon as the media noticed there was no useful Palin-smearing dirt to be had from the emails.

  2. It is good and evil folks, that simple. For the most part Conservatives and Republicans are for good. Leberals and Democrats stand for evil and destruction of family and certian religions, when you look at the big picture. No scandal in these e-mails, can’t hurt anyone, nobody or nothing for the slimy media to pillory. The fact that these horrid people hacked an e-mail account, cover that up fast.

  3. Should not Tennessee state Rep. Mike Kernell (D) step down to spend more time with his wayward son. It is obvious he cannot do his job and be a good parent at the same time.

  4. Same old. Same old. If the lib-left media weren’t so cocooned, if they got out more and talked to people who didn’t wear their exact, same glasses, they might be able to see what’s going on.
What a joke they are. Just too bad they wield the power they do.
Here in Canada, it’s been just GR-8 to see them twisting in the wind as they’ve come to realize that all their demonizing of Prime Minister Stephen Harper and his CP Party haven’t seemed to have influenced the polls. LOL!! The looks on their faces are priceless.

  5. Robert Stacy McCain, the author of the above quote, doesn’t seem to be related to John McCain, though he does mention in one link “my crazy cousin John” (which could be a joke…).
His own blog, The Other McCain, doesn’t mention any familial relationship, nor does Wikipedia. Does anyone know?

  6. The MSM and the Holywood ILK live in their fantasy world and demand we do as they say not as the live.
Its time the MSM took a huge slap in the face to jar it back to reporting news not making news! As for the Holywood Ilk – I give up

  7. capt_bob: “As for the Holywood Ilk – I give up”
Not me! I just don’t go to their movies anymore or buy the “people” magazines that are full of these phonies’ photos.
Hollywood’s actually in big trouble: far too many mega-budget movies that aren’t making any profits. They may be getting the message from the rest of us “ordinary” North Americans. We don’t buy Hollywood anymore.

  8. Now it’s gone from hacking a Republican Vice Presidential Candidate’s personal email to she was just being careless and deserved it anyway ?
I am not as quick with a quip or snotty reply as a Hannity, or Coulter, or O’Rielly , so if you see me standing around with my mouth open, just wink and tell me to shut it.

  9. The funny thing is, there is no need for the Democrats or “The Media” to go after Palin. She is self-destructing and turning away voters – including hardcore rightwing conservative supporters – all on her own. The Democrats don’t need to attack her: just take out ads with her attempts at answering questions (the very very few the campaign will allow her to answer).
From Kathleen Parker at the NRO (http://article.nationalreview.com/?q=MDZiMDhjYTU1NmI5Y2MwZjg2MWNiMWMyYTUxZDkwNTE=):
“Some of the passionately feminist critics of Palin who attacked her personally deserved some of the backlash they received. But circumstances have changed since Palin was introduced as just a hockey mom with lipstick — what a difference a financial crisis makes — and a more complicated picture has emerged.
As we’ve seen and heard more from John McCain’s running mate, it is increasingly clear that Palin is a problem. Quick study or not, she doesn’t know enough about economics and foreign policy to make Americans comfortable with a President Palin should conditions warrant her promotion. […]
Palin’s recent interviews with Charles Gibson, Sean Hannity, and now Katie Couric have all revealed an attractive, earnest, confident candidate. Who Is Clearly Out Of Her League.
No one hates saying that more than I do. Like so many women, I’ve been pulling for Palin, wishing her the best, hoping she will perform brilliantly. I’ve also noticed that I watch her interviews with the held breath of an anxious parent, my finger poised over the mute button in case it gets too painful. Unfortunately, it often does. My cringe reflex is exhausted.
If BS were currency, Palin could bail out Wall Street herself.”
    ———–
Parker goes on. Can’t wait for the debate.

  10. If BS was currency, Obama could cover the debt of the whole world with cash to spare. Sarah Palin is, admittedly, a little green. So what? Aren’t they looking for new ideas? Aren’t the people of the US tired of the same old – same old?
Bill Clinton and Jimmy Carter were about as green as Palin. But as democrats, they were highly qualified to do the POTUS job it seems.

  11. They had both been governors and could hold their own on issues directly affecting the Presidency. BS is a fundamental part of every politician, but with Clinton, McCain, Biden and Obama it is clear they are BS’ing because they know what their answer is because they understand the question and they are just trying to massage the answer so they don’t turn off voters. That’s what politicians do.
Palin on the other hand clearly doesn’t even understand the question or the implications of the question. Given the opportunity to explain what she meant by saying she knew foreign policy because Russia was its neighbour, she responded “because it’s so close to us”. This is not just being “green”. This is opening up the question of “is she capable of competency”.
The Republicans are going to wish for Dan Quayle to come back.

  12. Is Joe Biden any more capable as Palin on the Russia file? Did he hold forth on how to deal with a resurgent Russian presence on the world stage?
I doubt that any presidentail hopeful, other than McCain has any idea on what to do about a more agressive Russia. The shoe this time is on the other foot – American is in fiscal slide, while Russia is reaping petro-dollars/euros to finance his “adventures”.
Could you solve the issue Ted, if you were in her shoes?

  13. jt, I’m not running for the single most important job in the world.
And I’m also not holding myself out as an expert on foreign affairs and national security because “I can almost see Russia from my house”.

  14. Teddy
I don’t kno if Palin can cut it, but I do kno you have presented no information supporting your position in this debate. If you “HAVE” something , spit it up, but your opinion is just that, and may or may not be supported by FACT.
and as far as clinton and BS’ing, he is the lad that had a big hand in the present financial crises

  15. GYM: Missing the point or didn’t read my post up above. That she appears completely out of her league and vacuous in these interviews, including by Hannity even when he was spoonfeeding her the answers, is absolutely my opinion. That a growing number of others think so, including strong conservatives and former Palin cheerleaders, (which was my point) think the same thing is a fact. Skip up above for but one example. David Frum being another. Just google it for a whole lot more.
That’s not saying the Republican ticket is worse or that Obama/Biden are better. Just a lot of people are starting to take off the rose coloured glasses and realizing Palin is more liability than asset.

  16. Ted wrote, “she appears completely out of her league and vacuous in these interviews
And she still comes off as smarter and more honest than Obama and Biden put together.

  17. Why is Governor Palin ‘out of her league, Ted? When Katy Couyack (probably spelled incorrectly) interviewed Governor Palin it became quite clear that Katy was unaware of the battles waged in the Aleutian Islands during WWII. Couyack did not know why the USA and Canada built the Alaska Highway in 1944-45, she did not do her homework so she was asking ignorant questions. Governor Palin appeared embarrassed for the Katie chick and tried to politely inform the msm gal about the geography of Alaska.
Did you read up on the Forgotten War, Ted or are you as under informed and/or poorly educated as Katy Couyack?
Probably Katy has never been out of her home state but she should have done some reading, IMO.

  18. Actually Ted, the problem is Schmidt, not Palin. She’s following the campaign script closely, too closely. She’s been instructed to pump McCain and his policies, and that’s what she’s doing – they have her on too tight a leash. (BTW, that info is easily found on the web). The effect of that was painfully obvious in the Couric interview. Its not that she can’t hold her own, she’s trying too hard to please the program. But at least she can remember what she has to say without a telepromter….

  19. DrD – your link led me to a page that says it could not find my request. Is that post still there? I love gloating when SDA gets results!

  20. Jema54:
What are you smoking and can I have some?
    The only geography lesson
Palin gave anybody was the incredible insight that Alaska is close to Russia and beside Canada. You seem to know more than she does.
Couric gives her a wide open chance to explain what special insight or experience she gains from such proximity and all she says is because Alaska is close.
But don’t take my word for it. Reality is starting to settle in on conservatives just like Canadian Liberal are starting to admit what a dud they picked as a leader. This is what happens when optics and politics trumps substance.

  21. “Now it’s gone from hacking a Republican Vice Presidential Candidate’s personal email to she was just being careless and deserved it anyway ?”
Isn’t that like refusing an abortion because the woman was asking for it??
    Just wondering
    Horny Toad

  22. Ted, you really have your panties in a knot tonight. Trust me, Palin has more substance than you do. As an unknown Ted we can presume that you never went out and got elected mayor, than governor, had a stable marriage and five kids.
Palin is no less a neophyte than any US governor that made it to the WH – Carter, Reagan, Clinton, Bush, see the pattern. Americans don’t elect elitist hacks when given a choice for better or worse. It’s what de Tocqueville observed about us, we don’t like smarmy little elitist meritocracy Teds. They are on balance are toxic to humanity.

  23. Ted, you better go back and review what the Dems and Reps said about SP. The mayor of Wasilla, the Rep governor and the Dem running for governor all said that they badly under estimated SP when it came to final crunch. She did not win these elections by being dumb and out to lunch. SP will let them think what they want, watch her during the debates. She happens to be a very intelligent human being.
Really when it comes to the news reports SP has accomplished what she has set out to do.
They slimmed her right from the get go and it will take over a month for people even to pick up a news paper and read about her and not remember the slimming that has happen to her and her family. So henceforth she already won the media war.

  24. Ted’s talking points sound straight from the latest Palin smear article that the Washington’s Post put out.
    Yawn.

  25. Thanks DrD that was a long read, the man excels in verbosity!
Ted – you just confirmed my suspension concerning your lack of education. I suspect the Katie girl suffers from the same lack. Katie’s interruptions, while Governor Palin was attempting to save her from exposing her ignorance of history, have been ignored by the majority of the msm talking heads.
Governor Palin is not accustomed to such incredible ignorance in adults, Alaskans are well aware of their state’s history and the strategic importance of Alaska’s geography to the Free World.

  26. So like conservatives: don’t like the message so ignore it and insult the messenger. How truly pitiful.
Bartinsky: I was quoting a pretty hardcore arch conservative who, after these interviews, is now convinced that Palin is a lightweight and waaaay out of her league. As you put it, need I say more.

  27. Ted, Ted, Ted, sigh.
So like conservatives: don’t like the message so ignore it and insult the messenger. How truly pitiful.
My dear this is simply YOUR pitiful claim, and you don’t speak for the rest of us, k?
