Because I, of course, feel that my comments are of the utmost importance(*)–I’ve posted it here.
Bob Rae is a socialist hack and an opportunist. Such as coming up the middle in his one-off win. It’s quite telling of the Liberal’s ideology (or lack thereof)that they would welcome him so deeply into their party. It also could be a small window into the future, concerning a melding of the Libs and NDP.
Many Sask posters have taken the opportunity of this story to attack Ontario’s voters, as is their usual practice.
As I’ve previously stated, MILLIONS in Ontario are also sick of these leftist’s and their nutzoid policies.
As with most, if not all, large cities in Canada, Toronto’s population seems to have a fascination with leftist parties.
    I think it’s partially
because of the high proportion of residents who are in a state of bliss because of never seeing a tax or heat bill.
Unfortunately, because of Toronto’s sheer size, they tend to swing many provincial and federal votes.
Possibly we conservatives should take a lesson from Bob Rae above, and leave the snarky remarks to our babbling opponents.
I guess the provincial NDP government that you guys kept in power for 16 years, may have slipped your mind?

  4. Thank you for the posting. That was a very good article of what is taking place over there. I hope all the naysayers read this article when the report of what it costs vs the good that people like this are doing for the Afghan people.

I too admire and support PMSH, and I agree he is the greatest PM we’ve had in my lifetime. I appreciate his politics and his steady metriculation of his agenda. I have been hoping for the day when a “c”onservative government can win a majority and start to decentralize power. All of that being said, this victory will be bitter sweet. Clearly PMSH is the man for the job and he will move Canada in the right direction; but, that does not excuse his flip-flop on AGW. HARPER AND DAY ARE LYING TO US. They are complicit in the unanimous decision by our politicians on both sides of the boarder in CREATING A NEW TAX. We all know that in five years when everyone is on to the LIE, it will be too late to rescind a tax that the government will have become addicted to. PMSH and his posse will not even mention or discuss this because they plan on jamming it down our throats knowing that Canadians will not have an alternative party to vote for in 4 years; therefore, the Conservatives will not pay a political price for screwing us.
I can be happy that we will be having good government for the near future, but my faith and trust in PMSH and the Conservative party is gone. I will have to reassess the pros and cons of Alberta/Western separation from Canada under this new government and direction. As I said a Conservative government will make me happy; but, I will be looking for alternatives in the future, someone who isn’t lying to me.

  7. If that is true
Ezra levant who is Jewish idea was to conservative to seperate the Quebec from Canada
and Alberta and west from Canda aht they can be boss
Ezra Levent left his blogs to work to get this with Haper who know each otehr for long and Harpe I bleive is German back ground too
    and Dion is French
and we we left here nobody
except use Muslim to made them hero to gain p eople cry for them to support them
Conservative came since 2003 and since 2006 it means not have enough experince
power and money can do so much
and Harper after finish his job as PM can run the alberta seperate from rest of Canda
now we cna find out why the date of majority was set so fast on Oct
is that Jewis, german, French we miss teh Catholic Italin here too
now we nee Irish and Scotish?
I think this election too fast too soon is fisshy smell to me
when get majority put pressure to do more undertable
Bush is behind this for sure!!! abd McCain
lieing is more job of republican I guess!!
still I confuse over all laws who is right who is wrong or may be we do not have real good and we need to work to have good people who are not lie replace them in near closes future
Obama coming in weekend in Windsor to see who?
how many rich people live there every body know who live in Windsor
    all look fishy
at least some do not send peopel for death canel of German nazi call it Candain hero over
Muslim Candain credit to loose here for ever over fansy passion nonsense Hero war
It all start from Harper Labor day with Dion
this Liberal also too soft and Conservaite is too left we need some one honset here
    is any body left there
I think In future I must apply for PM of Canada
I only need to fix my English Here
or at least VP for good PM here!!
call me a Hero who say the truth and bit me for say the truth and only the truth so far in Canada
sometimes being truthfull are not value in Canada so far

  8. who said I am a man!
plus you told me you suppose to leave me alone and completly ignore me but still you can not
but defintely I am an engineer with iron ring from Canadian university and I went to gifted school as well
I know you can pull your hair if you want too! like kelly said it to me when notice that!
I like to apply for PM of Canada when I fix my English
    do you vote for me?

  9. No need to fix your English buddy – lookit Dion! Doubt he’ll make it all the way, tho… you might succeed where he fails.

  10. I only may have one weakness only sometimes not all the time is English
    in comparison of
French Canadian are so much stick to budge for all canadain and instead they spend it sake of Quebec and frind or thier love one
I notice French Candain are simlare like Italian love of wine and thier job and dogs and budget but they are lie easy and not care about corruption but their budge always not accute as we can see Air Canda as rider of Candain are always and look bankrupt with too much debt and notcommunite with real businss and redue corrption are too sofe people
German Canadian men I bleive Harper is one of them are close to American as you can see BUSH call Harper “Yo Harper” are agrresive for hero outside of the your land but less care inside !
and give you ride of every problems with army aircraft and expense to top of their nations
are too left peopel here and
As Conservatie vote to seperte west and Alberta and french like seperate Quebec in East and
we left with nothing to talk in Ontario and Jewish candain look for land to stay here in peace too that is too much law to diges why? instead are not focus in main issu rahter than land power nd money which think about country!
then we left one chance to choose: English Canadian while they have also problmes there
because they rid you with Via rail train take for every and do every thing with too much delay and too much coffee break unfortunatly no hero
English Canadian look less to lie and more obey to law but do not talk usualy to anybody hear them to lie instead they take carpet off of your feet and when you fell down say Only one word
“surprise” which is similar like England culture
too much surprise with not talk and kind look
as all of us know if take the Grey hound mady loose your head and with our car take for ever we can run it independ of any party and we must depend in one party who act better in compare with others not necesary are the best we know
    while the SOLUTION can be:
let the troop back to town and focus in main importnat issue inside to becom strong before we have capicity to help others. In mix and match now if we can pick from all the nations one the best charcter may it work to stay in mid and center to concentrat in main issue more than keep the troop up to 2011 to made Bush happy
while PM must made Candian happy first
still made decision up to 2011 need to review with all not made it in hidden doors

Afghanistan has suffered extensive human rights violations over the last twenty years. The subsequent civil war brought extensive abuses by the armed factions vying for power.[148] The Taliban rose to power in 1996 and ruled Afghanistan until the U.S. attacks in 2001. They were notorious for their human rights abuses against woman.
Since 2006, Afghanistan has seen threats to its stability from increased Taliban-led insurgent activity, growing illegal drug production, and a fragile government with limited control outside of Kabul

At 17:00 UTC, President Bush confirmed the strikes on national television and British Prime Minister Tony Blair also addressed the UK. Bush stated that at the same time as Taliban military and terrorists’ training grounds would be targeted, food, medicine, and supplies would be dropped to “the starving and suffering men, women and children of Afghanistan.” .

On October 7th, 2001, strikes were reported in the capital, Kabul (where electricity supplies were severed), at the airport and military nerve-centre of Kandahar (home of the Taliban’s Supreme Leader Mullah Omar), and also in the city of Jalalabad
The initial attack removed the Taliban from power, but Taliban forces have since regained some strength.[16] The war has been less successful in achieving the goal of restricting al-Qaeda’s movement.[17] Since 2006, Afghanistan has seen threats to its stability from increased Taliban-led insurgent activity, growing illegal drug production, and a fragile government with limited control outside of Kabul.
Six days after the events of September 11, 2001, U.S. President George W. Bush identified Osama bin Laden as the ‘prime suspect’ in the attacks.[20] Osama bin Laden was understood to be in Afghanistan at the time. On 20 September 2001, in an address to a joint session of Congress, President Bush issued an ultimatum demanding that the Taliban government of Afghanistan:
deliver al-Qaeda leaders located in Afghanistan to the United Kingdom
release all imprisoned foreign nationals, including American citizens
protect foreign journalists, diplomats, and aid workers in Afghanistan
close terrorist training camps in Afghanistan and “hand over every terrorist and every person and their support structure to appropriate authorities”
give the United States full access to terrorist training camps to verify their closure
“They will hand over the terrorists or they will share in their fate” said Bush. No specifics were attached to the threat, though there followed a statement suggesting military action: “Our war on terror begins with al Qaeda, but it does not end there.”
The Taliban government responded through their embassy in Pakistan, asserting that there was no evidence in their possession linking bin Laden to the September 11 attacks. They also stressed that bin Laden was a guest in their country. Pashtun and Taliban codes of behavior require that guests be granted hospitality and asylum.
On September 22, 2001, the United Arab Emirates, and on the following day, Saudi Arabia withdrew their recognition of the Taliban as the legal government of Afghanistan, leaving neighboring Pakistan as the only remaining country with diplomatic ties.
On October 7, 2001, before the onset of military hostilities, the Taliban offered to try bin Laden in Afghanistan in an Islamic court. This offer was rejected by the U.S., and the bombing of targets within Afghanistan by U.S. and British forces commenced the same day.
October 14, 2001, seven days into the U.S./British bombing campaign, the Taliban offered to surrender Osama bin Laden to a third country for trial, if the bombing halted and they were shown evidence of his involvement in the September 11 terrorist attacks. This offer was also rejected by U.S. President Bush, who declared “There’s no need to discuss innocence or guilt. We know he’s guilty.
The United Nations Security Council (UNSC) did not authorize the U.S.-led military campaign in Afghanistan (Operation Enduring Freedom). There is some debate as to whether UNSC authorization was required, centered around the question of whether the invasion was an act of collective self-defense provided for under Article 51 of the UN Charter, or an act of aggression.
Also, the U.S. Administration did not officially declare war, and labelled Taliban troops and supporters terrorists rather than soldiers, denying them the protections of the Geneva Convention and due process of law. This position has been successfully challenged in the U.S. Supreme Court[28] and questioned even by military lawyers responsible for prosecuting affected prisoners.
On December 20, 2001, the UNSC did authorize the creation of an International Security Assistance Force (ISAF) with authority to take all measures necessary to fulfill its mandate of assisting the Afghan Interim Authority in maintaining security.[30] Command of the ISAF passed to NATO on August 11, 2003.
The number of U.S-led coalition troops operating in the country would eventually grow to over 10,000. Meanwhile, the Taliban and al-Qaeda had not given up. Al-Qaeda forces began regrouping in the Shahi-Kot mountains of Paktia province throughout January and February 2002. A Taliban fugitive in Paktia province, Mullah Saifur Rehman, also began reconstituting some of his militia forces in support of the anti-U.S. fighters. They totalled over 1,000 by the beginning of March 2002.
On September 24, 2006, Craig Pyes of the LA Times published results of a co-investigation with non-profit organization Crimes of War Project, proposing that 10 members of ODA 2021 of the 1/20th Special Forces Group (Airborne) of the Alabama National Guard during the last month of their tour in early 2003 at a base in Gardez had tortured a peasant and shot to death Jamal Naseer, an 18 year-old recruit of the Afghan National Army.
The increase in Taliban power has led to increased human rights violations against women in Afghanistan, according to the U.S. State Department.[150] According to Amnesty International, the Taliban commit war crimes by targeting civilians, including by killing teachers, abducting aid workers and burning school buildings. Amnesty International said that up to 756 civilians were killed in 2006 by bombs, mostly on roads or carried by suicide attackers belonging to the Taliban.
