  1. the left wing media emperors have no clothes and they do not even know it yet.
    If the polling post THE SPEECH shows the GOP ticket in the lead it is lights out for the dens as they do not know how to run from behind. If the deme were to indeed do what has been whispered by some of the left media and replace Biden with HRC it will be an all out rout.

  2. Inheritance taxes are amongst the most unfair and repressive taxes we know. What folks need to understand is that the assets families inherit from their deceased parent have already HAD THE TAXES PAID ON IT! DO YOU LEFTTARDS NOT REALIZE THAT?

  3. It is MSNBC. On the best of days a third-rate broadcaster. They remind me of an alcoholic slowly drinking himself to death.

  4. britt Hume thanked fox news viewers tonight for giving them the largest audience in the history of cable television on Thursday night. I wonder what cnbc’s and CNN’s numbers were?

  5. First and foremost–They must deal with the trillions of deficit. I love the black guy!!

  6. “First and foremost–They must deal with the trillions of deficit(sic). I love the black guy!!”
    Yeah, the “black guy” is a real fiscal conservative, that is for sure. Did you listen to his speech? He outlined a trillion dollars worth of new spending right then.

  7. I wonder what time they get to work there? 0715 Eastern as I type this and the same headline remains.
    Could it be that their website has as large a viewership as the channel itself and no one besides us has seen it yet?

  8. “What McCain and Bush say about economy”?
    So is it just me or is MSNBC referring to Obama as Bush?
    I say this because they are comparing McCain and Obama and McCain’s name is already in the headline.
    So follow me here,
    Obama = Messiah
    Obama = Bush
    Bush = Messiah

  9. Here’s a comparison between Obama and Palin:
    “One is a pretty little piece of eye candy, the other kills her own food” –Jim Treacher

    A FOX cable network equivalent is exactly what Canada needs.
    Sadly, our current television are corporately owned cabal of leftists except for the CBC which of course is the state’s (taxpayer funded) leftist whore.

  11. After listening to Obama’s professor of economics on a podcast, I can assure you Obama will lean heavily toward socialist income redistribution principles: to “right social wrongs.” He is more concerned with “fair economic outcomes” than offering “equal opportunity.” Our economy will be toast if Obama is elected.

    Once Harper gets his majority we need to demand an alternative news source for this country. The CRTC has already refused Fox news broadcasting in this country which is another proof of our very lefty Liberal highjacked institutions like Elections Canada.
    I have heard that Bloggers will be mentioned in upcoming Tory thank you speeches: The Winnipeg Convention for one…The best thank you of all would be to have a balanced 24 hr news source like Fox that could be potentially be run (Behind and posibly in front of cameras) by hard working and deserving Bloggers like Kate, Steve and many others.
    I even have a catchy name for it which would ring well with “FOX” but specifically for Canada: “LYNX News” (One syllable, got the X at the end and is an almost exclusive animal to Canada, except for…Wait for it: ALASKA!: We hear a lot about that state these days because of a certain Governor)

    Gord Tulk,
    I believe Hillary’s pretty happy right now. Oh sure she must deal with a new kid on the block in Sarah Palin. But that’s not really an issue for her until 2012. Her immediate concern is an Obama victory which only a fool believes she’s rooting for. She’s not hitching to his wagon no matter how much he begs – which he won’t anyway.

  14. Very apt description, Joe Molnar.
    Some sad news from the Yukon, which will not likely be reported by CBC Pravda – or any other ‘comrade’ station: Hon Eric Nielson, the scourge of Turdo and the Canadian champion of Property Rights, died last night. He was the Canadian version of John McCain with more fighter pilot experience! Eric was a fine man and I believe that The Lord will be happy to put him in his legion of soldiers fighting for the good.
    I, like many Yukoners who were lucky enough to live here when he was our M.P. will miss his presence on Earth. When Eric lived here, most of us Yukoners were contemplating joining Alaska (and the Independence outfit that Mr. Palin once belonged to! B.C. was involved in that movement too) until Eric came along and made us all so proud of him in Canada’s parliament. Eric made the Yukon proud, productive and independent. The Puffin/Dipper years have eroded all of his great work – most people, who moved in up here don’t even know his name. Sad but true.
    God Bless Hon. Eric Nielson. He always fought for the right side – the Canadian taxpayer’s side – he was a big fan of PMSH – of Joey Clark, not so much.

  15. Hell, progressive income tax is illegitimate all on its own demerits. It amounts to nothing other than institutionalized covetousness, and it enables lawyer-politicians to do what lawyers do best: Rip people off. Lawyers create nothing, produce nothing, and provide no essential service – a man is better off if he goes through his entire life without ever even encountering a lawyer – and yet we allow them to get rich suing doctors and others in our society who actually do real, actual work, and we allow them to make the law, judge the law, prosecute the law, and defend us from the law. The American legal system is a racket with the sole goal of enriching lawyers at the expense of the real citizens of this country. It’s always been that way, however: Shakespeare had a point.
    Same with business taxes, property taxes and estate taxes: Completely illegitimate on their face. In the case of property taxes, if the government can steal your property for not giving in to their extortion demands, then you don’t own that property, the government does.
    The only thing a government can legitimately tax is a transaction. That’s a fact, not an opinion.

    You should change cable providers then because Fox News has been available in Canada for a number of years. All cable news channells except for CNN were kept out at first ( same as ESPN is still kept out of Canada) to protect the fledging Canadian news channels but that has since changed.

  17. kevink – yes, fox news is available. But only if you pay extra. CNN comes as part of the regular ‘better package’; the basic package doesn’t even have CNN. But to get Fox, you have to pay even more.

  18. Jema 54, sorry to hear about Yukon Erik. I agree he was a great MP, and a real character. So far I can’t find any reports in the MSM.

  19. Jema 54 :
    Where did you see or hear about Erik Nielson i have searched & it is not posted anywhere i can find.

  20. hucbald – could you explain the difference between ‘fact’ and ‘opinion’.
    A political system is a system constructed by human beings; it’s not a physical reality. Therefore,it sets up this system by man-made laws. These can be changed but as long as they are part of the accepted infrastructure, those rules are ‘legitimate’. They may be dysfunctional but they are legitimate.
    Therefore, your claim that a certain type of taxation is illegitimate or legitimate doesn’t make any sense.

  21. That MSNBC webpage headline is now changed to “Candidates’ economic, energy policies”; the previous BDS headline has gone down the Memory Hole.

  22. amazing. when politians speak about money it’s always your money they are spending. man, people are stupid.

  23. “What McCain and Bushsay about the economy.”
    Pejorative headline. Mentioning Bush is irrelevant to the story, especially considering that the photos on the page are of McCain and Obama.
    Presumably John Edwards agrees with Obama’s position, certainly now that Obama is now officially the Deomocratic nominee for president, so why not mention him?
    Perhaps they could’ve tweaked the headline to read: “What Obama and Edwards say about the economy.”
    Oh, that’s right. Edwards is baggage now, and the MSM doesn’t want to saddle the Democratic Party with what they’d agree is his tarnished name.

  24. When I get into an argument with people who think Fox News is all “faux news”, I point out that only viewers of Fox were unsurprised at how the war in Iraq has come out. Every step of the way, only Fox has provided a view of the progress of the war that has been borne out by time. When Obama said that “nobody” expected the surge to succeed, what he meant was, nobody that he talked to or listened to. People watching Fox knew that the surge was building on existing progress. We knew that when Hillary called Patreaus a liar, she was wrong, not him.
    Of course this argument of fair and balanced reporting won’t get you very far with the powers that be in Canada, I suspect.
