It has infuriated me since this morning that certain people (i.e. Wayne Easter and friends) are trying to smear the Cons with this outbreak (and multiple deaths) by the non sequitor that is plans to change how inspections are handled.
I reiterate a point I made earlier in the day, that the Libs are no frikkin different than PETA and Westboro using Tim Macleans death to further their agenda.

I just read the comments at the G&M story where Dion gets in on the crap-throwing.
People are blaming Harper for future outbreaks over privatization in spite of the fact that current practices allowed this outbreak.
And when that is pointed out they reply that the Liberal inspectors have caught this outbreak and saved us and so should keep their jobs. This is in spite of the fact that the SARS system caught this outbreak and not the current inspection process.
Liberal supporters have no idea about logic or timelines. Just Harper=Harris=Mulroney=Scary.

Iam sick & tired of so called politicians like dion making statements about Walkerton when they don’t have a clue what went on there.
I took water down to (on a weekly basis) many friends & their neighbors when that crisis was on in Wlalkerton. As the company i worked for at the time seen me make many busuness calls down there. Walkerton is about 40 min. south of Owen Sound. I felt sorry for the people of Walkerton as i watched on a weekly basis see this peacefull little town become a frenzy of media & curiosity seekers. There was a tremendous stress on them & the vultures did not help it any & now Everytime we here about a contamination of some sort we here Walkerton mentioned, Alan is right the koebels! Everyone in Grey/Bruce felt with the people of Walkerton & pitched in to help & We would damm well do it again & we damm well Don’t need no Liberal Politician who was not there reminding us of the sorrow that happened at that time.

I thought all such outbreaks were supposed to end under McGuinty. After all, he made food safety and inspections a significant part of his election bid the first go around (2003), scaring Ontarians, saying that food safety of meat plants was in question if the Harris-Eves Tories got back in power. Today’s reporting by the MSM makes no mention of the McGuinty gov’t. No doubt, if today was August 21, 1998, Mike Harris would be prominent in all reporting on this issue.
