I guess I am lucky…in my life I’ve never had an issue with people’s sexual orientation…or if I did I dealt with it years ago, had cousins, friends, my childrens friends who had a different orientation than me…and known a transvestite, and a transgenedered person who underwent changes.
I think the minister must be allowed to rant about his position even though it is clearly extremist. It would be dangerous to others only if it became mainstream. The fact that he has been silenced is no shock..Some of us futurists (that word means in this context the awareness to percevie the implications of groups, movements, social programs, government directions, any information at all available and predict with great accuracy the future outcomes)…have seen this whole senerio coming for decades.
Am I allowed to call him extremist now that he has been convicted by the hrc because when I was testing out a story to several different people on different occassions and referred to a group of full burkha-ed wearing women as extremist the other day in toronto, the response from each of the individuals in very different walks of life was to caution me not to use the term extremist in relation to this perticular religion?
I don’t agree with his religious retoric but I would defend to the death his right to say it. Ooops, that last statment could reflect eminent conversion already creeping up on me…
