  1. Profanity/name calling, the first refuge of the unsophisticated mind.
Apparently he/she cannot articulate an opinion without profanity or name-calling. Unless of course that was the point you were making LOL.
‘Red Tory’ Does that mean they are only ‘commie-lite, 1/2 commie or what?’

  2. I left a comment. Bit stale, but…
Two-a-penny moonbat. I especially liked his “tourist” picture, which was a dead ringer for a couple of Torontonians I encountered not long ago. Nice folks, you understand, but beef and red faces are not exclusively found in the US. I’ll refrain from commenting on the self-portrait…
Further down the page, he repeats the lie that “xian fundies” want to nuke Iran to bring on the End Times. Dan Collins proposes that the particles holding that sort of thing together should be called “nuons”. Red Tory could do well to relocate to a place with a higher nuon flux.

    Ric

  3. We inhabit the planet “General Sense of Wherewithal.” But who’s asking, really?

  4. Because I love cross posting:
    “Hi Red,
I just thought I’d let you know about the fundamentals of economics. A rational person thinks at the margins. It’s one of the principal principles. If that’s a little obtuse this might be easier, given the choice of 2 interchangeable goods, a person in their right mind will choose the cheaper.
So for Kate, Vit, Penny and the gang at SDA to say that cheaper coffee may indicate a better vacation is entirely reasonable. For you to say that paying more for coffee in Canada makes it better is in fact irrational. You’ve spent more on coffee and now have less money to spend on other products and services (both at higher prices) than you would if you had traveled to the USA where products and services are cheaper.
    You fail once again,
    Jon”

  5. Damn, it’s the first time I’ve ever been to his site. I don’t ever want to visit again.
Please, SDA owner, do you think you could post some sort of warning or something the next time you want to link to this angry, little weirdo’s blog?
I would just as soon !NOT! give this unpleasant little roach the mistaken belief that I clicked onto his site because I was interested in anything he had to say.
If he wants to have his lonely, pissed off, impotent rants, have them. Heck man, knock yourself out (please). I just don’t want to mistakenly stumble upon them.

  6. This should play out nicely.
Red Tory steps on a rake.
    Watch the next step.
The “Red” part wants to take another foolish step into the weeds, the “Tory” part knows step back.

  7. For the record, I didn’t say that “cheaper coffee may indicate a better vacation”. Cheap coffee I like, it’s vacations I don’t do. So I’m not in a position to judge better vacation. Well except that for me, every day is a vacation, and I can’t say anything about coffee that Jackie Mason doesn’t say better here:

Just, for the record, you know.

  8. Red Tory seems to have a bit of an attitude – he’s a typically arrogant progressive, a “fake” conservative…
Red Tory is another good reason to vacation in the States
and if I knew where he was parked I’d let the air out of his tires

  9. “Overnight travel by Canadians to the United States rose 11.1% to 17.8 million trips in 2007, the highest level since 1992.”
“Overnight travel from the United States to Canada fell 3.5% to only 13.4 million trips. US tourists spent about $7.1 billion, down 3.0%.”

But everything is perfect in Victoria!!!!! They’re going to love the carbon tax thing!!!!

  10. There is another reason (I think), Kate linked to Red Tory … today and for the next few days, he’ll get hit rates way … way … over what he gets any other day. He slags other blogs all the time, and I know that when he links to my blog to unload some his garbage, there are hardly any hits. It goes to show how little traffic he actually has … and how tiny his audience is. I also know that when Kate links to my blog … there is a flood of hits that go well into the many thousands for several few days.
No better way to demonstrate how puny a blogging worm someone is than to flood them … once.

  11. The carbon tax won’t faze ol’Red, he’ll be trotting the streets of Victoria in his sperry top-siders leaving but a tiny foot(carbon)print…he is a small man you know.

  12. Red Tory is the physical embodiment of the reason that political satirist Andy Donato always draws cartoons of Joe Clarke with mittens on a string.

  13. Not one said a thing about how Anti-Americanism has decimated the tourist industry. It was all just gas math moments of no substance of the subject just all obsessing on minute .
    Just my impression

  14. Victoria – a visit every decade is enough , how many doilies can one look at in the great shopping experience. and tea for 75$ is an experience best left for the bluehair crowd complaining about their pensions.

  15. A glimpse at the small red creture and his small red thinking which inhabit a small red planet in the small red universe.
    Meh!
All a tad too small and far too monochromatic rouge to interest me.
Not enough room there for the inhabitant’s hubris and a visitor.

  16. He posts a great picture of himself on his website at this particular posting, but who is that with him? Is it supposed to be his “wife?” I thought he was gay?

  17. Vit,
I didn’t mean to say that you said those things directly, but only that you were a regular poster at this site and are quite “rational”.
    Ghost of Ed,
Your reading skills remind me of Red Tory. Congrats.

  18. Love the creeping McCarthyism, “missing link”. I guess in 2028 we’ll be calling the Conservative Party communists too, then(presumably wishing for their return in a majority christian heritage party government).
Jon: I must object. A more rational person would think beyond the margins. Otherwise we’d all get trapped within local optima, and probably be heroin addicts choosing between the high that we could get “at the margin” to the benifits we could get from postponing our rewards.
There is never only 2 interchangable goods/services. In fact, let’s state that a little clearer: There is always more than 2 Interchangable goods/services.
