Caught between a blank page and a deadline…
Hey, Don… what about a five part series… on non-existent grenades, lasers, or hey… photon torpedoes?

My subscription has lapsed. How am I to keep up with all the non-news? One of the main reasons it has lapsed — I greatly dislike non-news. I will not read any article that has the word “might” or “could”. Please, just report on the facts, not would could have or should have or might have.
phasors on stunned.
I used read the Toronto Sun everyday, first thing.
This despite that leftie fool Eric Margolis.
Along came Sheila Copps, downhill from there.
Now all I read from the Sun is what is posted online and written by Lorrie Goldstein.
I read the comments on said item and I would like to know how come you can not kill a partridge at 20 feet with a 410 shotgun. I find this very unbelievable or you are a very piss poor shot or maybe the new wave of partridges got body armour and are just teasing you. Merle Underwood.
I missed a partridge close than twenty feet with a 410 shotgun. not much of a hunter………
“You can hit a partridge from 20 feet away with a 410 and not kill it.” Dude, you’re lucky partridge don’t fire back… either that or you’ve been taking hunting lessons from Dick Cheney 😉
by jezzus you gotta hit em in da ead wit a fourden to kill dem bye.
…And now the news.
“The Pope will not visit Canada this year…
Dion will force and election, Pierre Trudeau is still dead….and Police say nothing happened last night.”
…now, the weather,
“It will be cloudy tonight with a low of forty below and global warming will continue….”

“merle asks… I would like to know how come you can not kill a partridge at 20 feet…”
.410 is the smallest shotgun shell that exists. it takes the smallest shot. shot spreads out. out
of a short pistol barrel it spreads out exponentially.
the judge was meant to be a “snake gun” for hikers. the writer, don peat, has a very
active imagination.
gettin’ any clearer?

.45 Colt? Not .45 ACP?
Oh my, the 1870’s phoned… they want their technology back!
Dead on Paul, havn’t bought a newspaper in 2 years, the Calgary Sun took to letting Rick Dumbell run wild with his stupidity and then had the nerve to install the equally moronic Shelia/Margolis/ why don’t the just add the coup de gras and hire Jim[go left] Travers and nutless Kinksilla. Fire starter all of them, thank god for blogs.
get yourself a 12guage and with the right shot you can bag three birds in close formation. as for the 410 revolver, shit i want one.
Actually the first .410 handgun I ever saw was at a gun show (in Canada NO LESS!) well over 10 years ago. My buds and I marveled at it for the inovation and the stupidity of the thing.
Neat but utterly unpracticable.
As I think about, this was even before I joined the navy, so it was more than 17 years ago. This guy is only hearing about it now?
And like neo said it has a short barrel and I do mean short, 2 inch. A 2″ barrel and the shot in a 410 shell? Accurate to MAYBE 6 feet.
If you look up the .410 shot shell you will discover that even from a long barreled, properly choked shotgun its effective range, on small birds, is about 25 yards. Out of a three inch revolver the .410 would have difficulty penetrating a leather jacket at 25 yards.
Out of a 12 gauge, bird shot is not known for penetrating to any depth even at short range. Bird shot in a 3 inch barreled, .410 pistol? Utterly, completely useless as a weapon against human sized animals at ranges greater than arm’s length. Hit them with the gun, it would do more damage.
Now, if humble private citizen guy The Phantom can look all that up in about two minutes over morning coffee, what’s the Sun’s excuse?
