Liberals were overpolled by, what, 20 points in each instance.
That overpolling is the same reason the Lib’s donations are in the tank.
Those mumbling their general leanings over the phone to some pollster doesn’t translate into actually taking action.

ET, I live in Leaside and you are right about Rae and his liberal support. There are hordes of teachers, public union members and other leftists that are easily mobilized as when Miller was elected or to defeat really solid guys like Dave Johnson and elect their leftist candidates.
We see it on SDA all the time whenever our posters disagree with Harper or expect him to do something that right now he can’t, some of them instantly bail, saying “That’s it, he’s lost my vote!”. Whereas as we constantly see with our leftist trolls they just don’t care about logic or reason they always, always support the Liberals.
No matter how many times you and so many other excellent posters try to use facts to present your excellent arguments it makes zero impact with the trolls. Yet you continually attempt to reason with them, debate them. You will never get to them as they have already moved on with their closed minds to throwing the next dagger.

The real story is that the Liberals are broke. When Harper was showing off his campaign war-room, it was a clear signal that they were loaded for bear. It intimidated the back-room Liberals.

I don’t know that Rae could take for granted the support of many public sector unions or their people. They are still smarting after the “Rae Days” debacle of the early 80’s.
A funny story from his time in power: I had to visit a proctologist to ensure the plumbing was OK. As I lay splayed face down across the table, his very attractive young assistant (why does this profession attract the prettiest nurses?!) came in, and asked if everything was all right. I replied “All things considered, I wish Bob Rae was here instead of me.”
Her response: “Oh, we’d love to get Bob Rae in here!”

The people in Toronto have Rae to thank for the doctor shortage in Ontario.
Under his Dipper socialist era, he felt the high cost of doctors was a real drain on health care, so he arranged with the U of T to graduate FEWER doctor’s.
Cost us millions to placate the U of T for lost fees.
Any health care worker from that era knows all about ‘Rae Days’.
Now we have different Rae days…7 hour waits to see a doctor.
Wonder if it’s too late for the CPC candidate in that Toronto riding to make use of those facts…
