  1. Coming soon to a neighbourhood near you! I hope we enact a law to head them off at the pass.

  2. This is where civil disobedience comes in: if I’m in Bern I gather some friends and we lay a ring of bacon around that mosque.

  3. Five times a day of that?
That would get annoying VERY quickly.
And now for something completely different…with apologies to the members of Monty Python
(Sound: Muslim call to prayer (adhan), very loud and wailing.)
Man: I wish that bloody muezzin would stop.
Wife: Oh, it’s quite nice dear, it’s midday, it’s the mosque.
M: What about us atheists? Why should we ‘ave to listen to that sectarian turmoil?
    W: You’re a lapsed atheist, dear.
M: The principle’s the same. The Christians don’t come ’round here wavin’ crosses at us! We don’t get Buddhists playing bagpipes in our bathroom! Or Hindus harmonizing in the hall! The Shintus don’t come here shattering sheet glass in the shithouse, shouting slogans-
W: All right, don’t practice your alliteration on me.
M: Anyway, when I membership card and blazer badge back from the League of Agnostics, I shall urge the executive to lodge a protest against that religious racket! Pass the butter knife!
    W: WHAT??
M: PASS THE BUTTER KNIFE!! (pause) THANK YOU! IF ONLY WE HAD SOME KIND OF MISSILE!
W: ‘OLD ON, I’LL CLOSE THE WINDOW.
    M: WHAT?!
    W: I SAID, I’LL CLOSE THE WINDOW!
(Sound: Window closing, call to prayer gets a little quieter, but is still there)
M: If only we had some kind of missile, we could take the steam out of that muezzin.
W: Well, you could always use the number 14-Al-Arabia-mosque-on-the-hill ballistic missile. It’s in the attic.
M: What ballistic missile would this be, then?
(Sound: Adhan begins to get increasingly louder)
W: I made it for you, it’s your birthday present!
M: Just what I wanted, ‘ow nice of you to remember, my pet. ‘ERE!
    W: WHAT?
M: THE ADHAN IS GETTING LOUDER!
    W: WHAT?
M: THE ADHAN IS GETTING LOUDER!!
W: THE ADHAN IS GETTING LOUDER! OOOH, LOOK!
    M: WHAT?
W: THE MOSQUE, IT.. ITS COMING CLOSER! ITS COMING DOWN THE ‘ILL!
    M: WHAT A LIBERTY!
W: ITS TURNING INTO OUR LANE! WELL, YOU BETTER GO PUT IT OUT OF IT’S MISERY.
    M: WHERE’S THIS MISSILE, THEN?
W: IT’S IN THE ATTIC. PRESS THE BUTTON MARKED MOSQUE!
M: ‘OW DO I AIM IT?
W: IT AUTOMATICALLY HOMES IN ON THE NEAREST PLACE OF WORSHIP!
    M: BUT THAT’S ST. MARKS!
W: IT ISN’T NOW, LOOK!! OH, ITS OP’NING THE GATE.
    M: WHAT? USE THE MEGAPHONE!
W: IT’S OP’NING THE GATE!! ‘HURRY UP, ITS TRAMPLING OVER THE AZALIAS!
(Sound: Missle launch, explosion, adhan diminishes)
    M: Did I ‘it it?
W: Yes, right up the minaret.
M: Well I’ve always said, There’s nothing an agnostic can’t do if he really doesn’t know whether he believes in anything or not.

  4. Europe bows to their new Mulsim overlords. Think that it won’t happen here? Just a matter of time. And I don’t want to hear some multiculti liberal tell me “it’s just like church bells”. Seriously.

  5. Funny how an anti-Christian Queerbecer would be willing to go to war with people who speak English, but speaking Arabic is okay.
    Another gauloise?

  6. I can’t remember the last time I heard church bells. They don’t get rung much any more. I’d be for the rule of “seeing but not hearing” when it comes to all churches/mosques/temples etc….

  7. I’ll take the church bells over that fanatical yell disturbing the peace five times a day.
Who is going to complain? Who is going to stop it?
The democracies of Western civilization are about to be taken down one little town/big city at a time all because of the Leftoid/PC policies allowed to creep over them without challenge.
“Coming to a town near you”, it’s guaranteed, the climate is right for proliferation.
    Toronto should be first.

  8. The ringing of church bells has been regulated by some municipal governments. Originally the complaints came from non Christians radicals, who felt they shouldn’t have to listen to a sound coming from a Christian institution, (it was against their right of “freedom from religion”). When that didn’t work they used municipal noise bylaws to stop the ringing during certain hours, but that still wasn’t good enough to shut down the ringing during “work hours”, so they used the loudness level. They measured the decibel level of the ringing bells, from as close to the church as possible while still standing on public property. The ringing exceeded the municipal law, and the bells were finally silenced.

  9. the question, will these same non religious radicals put their throats on the line and protest the Muslims call to pray the same way they stopped the church bells??

  10. This is the 21st century, right? Why don’t the screechers just text message or email their congregations to prayer?
Typical Islam, though: Six hundred years behind Christianity in maturity, and 20 years behind in technology.
It’s a good thing no other religion relies on suicide bombers to win converts and keep order — otherwise, their bomb vests would look oh so passe.

  11. Talk about imposing religious values on others…how very politically incorrect!
As for the degenerate squawking coming from that bull horn, a couple loads of 12ga #4 buckshot usually does the trick.

  12. “I’ll take the church bells”
I was out for my run one day last week past my local Catholic church. I think somebody was practicing or checking the equipment because they were really jammin! Seriously, it sounded great, sunny day, fresh air, church bells, freedom!!!

  13. Correct me if I’m wrong, but wasn’t that recording placed in the bell tower by a solitary individual who was out to make a point? If you look at the entire sequence of videos, it is clear that the call to prayer is not being played by Muslims who have taken over a cathedral. Rather, the entire event is staged and filmed by a “provocateur” who (probably) wants to dramatize the threat to Europe posed by Muslim immigration. I myself believe Europe is indeed so threatened, but other comments on this thread suggest that a real, rather than a staged, event is up for discussion.
On the other hand, it would be interesting to know whether the Europeans reacting to the noise were in on the plot. If they were not, a translation of their comments would probably elucidate the provocateur’s point and provide a firmer connection with reality.

  14. Its the fact that it is amplified that makes it worse. That is what makes it invasive.
Civil Disobendience would be do start honking horns playing music and yelling every time thos speakers light up.
I agree, it is only tradition that the call to prayer be made by voice and loudly. Nothing will be done because european tradition is to be quiet about it for some time.
This just pisses people off, makes no friends and should lead to a reaction.
I have said it before and I will say it again. The aboriginal people of europe are the europeans. At some point they will push back, and what will the argument then be? There is no inherent right to accomodation in europe, they were never multicultural societies. They became societies of law and democracy. If they choose to pass laws to keep their culture etc would it be any different than the Native North Americans fighting off the Europeans in the 1600’s and 1700’s.
I am not advocating I am just saying that arguments used in North america dont apply in europe, and shouldnt.
You will see expulsions in Europe of Muslims, arabs etc before 2020….Turkey will not be allowed into the EU. Once again not advocating just saying this is what will happen.
By the way, given that Nato supported Kosovar expulsion of serbs (the serbs were trying to do the same) then they should have no toruble supporting it otherwise.
The UK is interesting. At some point there will be a party that is able to cross Tory and Labour lines but it will be about limiting immigration etc.
The next 10 years in Europe are going to be very interesting. Conflict happens leading into or just follwoing change points like when someone is about to loose or has just lost majority status….etc.
Interesting and potentially ugly times ahead.

  15. RSP,
If you are right then that would make them the equivalent of Richard Warman placing hate messages on websites anonymously. The only difference is that one was a crime and church bells would be a stunt, or a prank….like others one I am aware. You can let your own taste and opinion be the judge of those since they arent criminal.

  16. “By the way, given that Nato supported Kosovar expulsion of serbs (the serbs were trying to do the same) then they should have no toruble supporting it otherwise.”
    Eh?
Kosovo is the original home-land of the Serb people. They were expelled from it hundreds of years ago by Ottoman Turks. It was then re-claimed by the Serbs just before WW1, and has been a part of Serbia ever since. They also allowed a large population of Albanian Muslims to remain in (and move into) Kosovo, and this Muslim population eventually out-bred the Serb population until Kosovo was 90% Albanian Muslim. So, no, NATO didn’t assist Kosovars from stopping a Serbian invasion, NATO assisted Albania in taking Kosovo away from the Serbs. This would be like, say, large numbers of Iranian Muslims moving into Northern England, breeding like rabbits for the next 40 years, and then waging a terrorist campaign in order to turn Northern England into a separate, Muslim nation. Would we start bombing London if the Brits used their army to try and take back their own land?

  17. The sweet sound of death to the infidels. And then there’s the mile high minarets just to make sure the dhimmis get it.

  18. Alex,
You must be objecting to the Serbs were doing the same comment I made. This isnt the thread to get into the indepth discussion, both sides were trying to lay claim to the area and used current or historical occupation to do jsutify it.
I am not evaluating the merits of either sides claim, to be clear. Just saying NATO countries effectively supported ethnic cleansing by Kosovars of Serbians (so I think we are in agreement), even though I doubt that was the intent. Applying it forward, you may yet see the same thing except Nato will be supporting the cleansing of Muslims from Europe…..
It is a slippery argument for North americans as it would jusitfy any and all aboriginal uprisings in North america. Historical corallary or reclaiming aboriginal lands…would work in Australia and New Zealand as well.
I am sure there will be a thread that will pop up soon that will enable a more detailed discussion. It sounds like you have lots of inforamtion and knoweldge about the history of the area, I look forward to reading it.

  19. That sound compels me to imitate it at the top of my lungs as irritatingly as possible in an attempt to out-annoy it. I would train hounds (the most annoying of all howlers), a la Pavlov, to carry on senselessly with that call to prayer as their cue.
    Ridicule. Works wonders.
    Worst microphone ever!
Everyone buy microphones and install them on your rooftops and drown out the calls to prayer with church bells, or perhaps the sounds of car accidents.

  20. Stephen, yea, we’re in agreement. Seems I misunderstood your initial comment. Thanks for clarifying.

  21. The Muslim call to prayer:
    — Allah is Great, Allah is Great
    — I bear witness that there is no divinty but Allah
    — I bear witness that Muhammad is Allah’s Messenger
    — I bear witness that Muhammad is Allah’s Messenger
    — Hasten to the prayer, Hasten to the prayer
    — Hasten to real success, Hasten to real success,
    — Allah is Great, Allah is Great
    — There is no divinity but Allah

  22. Oddly, I was just thinking what Bour3 said. The Sex Pistols. Played at 120db. Five times a day. From the roof of the newly minted Church of The Bollocks.
Or maybe a nice cannonade. Five times a day. Off every rooftop in town.
There are ways to get things done.

  23. The words of the muslim call to prayer – adhan:
    Allah is The Greatest
I bear witness that there is no lord except Allah
I bear witness that Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah
    Make haste towards prayer
    Make haste towards welfare [success]
    Allah is greatest
There is no lord except Allah
Controversy over whether to allow the call to prayer in Oxford England is currently raging.

  24. don’t fret kate. you ain’t got those kind of acoustics in delisle. however, i can’t imagine why the muslim call to prayer frightens you so. surely the din created by your pack of inbreds at feeding time ( you decide which pack…) is far worse?

  25. Muslims,
That amplified, f**king prayer chant had better NEVER happen here!
There are twenty dollar wrist watches that can be set to notify you to get your arse up in the air as many times a day as you wish. Do that if you must, but I don’t want your noise pollution in my town or country.
No offense intended, but I am sure some will be taken.

  26. Brad … you are 100% correct all our multi culti, immigration, politically correct crap can be traced right back to that demagogic piece of shit commie, Pierre E Trudeau.

  27. Let me get this straight. Muslims pray supposedly 5 times a day and have done so all their lives. They all pray at the same time each day, I believe, yet they still don’t know the times and have to have loudspeakers telling them when to do it.
Is this part of the inbreeding thingy or don’t they have watches?

  28. Um, Jeffie, when the Muslim call to prayer comes to Toronto, you’ll no longer be able to prowl the bushes in High Park.

  29. John West, that’s a prayer chant? Sounds more like someone in severe pain or someone with brain damage due to inbreeding.

  30. I would have started singing “A Mighty Fortress” at the top of my lungs. And come back the next day with a bullhorn.

  31. John West
It is not wise to personify the multi cult nonsense in the form of one man PET. PET was a man of his times and reacted according to the zeitgeist of his time. Once we realize this simple truth we can begin to change the zeitgeist in which we now live and bring about the changes required to make a more stable society. Witness Ezra vs. the AHRC and the likely result of his video taping and broadcasting the nonsense on the internet.

  32. The liberals will allow it. Just think about it. If a law is drafted banning such noise, they know it ‘could’ offend Muslims, or thus encourage ‘hatred’ or ‘contempt’, therefore in the true tradition and intent of the HR Act, they must allow it. Ain’t multiculti grand?

  33. The call to prayer isn’t as much about notifying Muslims that it is time to face Mecca and bow low as it is about declaring the religious supremacy of Islam, exalting it above all others. It’s the same reason why prayer calls are nearly always amplified and given from the tallest minaret. And, although most Westerners may not perceive it, physically representing the supremacy of Islam is also why Muslims try to make the mosque minaret(s) the highest points in a city.
