Why this blog?
Until this moment I have been forced to listen while media and politicians alike have told me "what Canadians think". In all that time they never once asked.
This is just the voice of an ordinary Canadian yelling back at the radio -
"You don't speak for me."

She has a bit of the Carolyn Parrish look to her. Not good.
First the CWB then the CBC then the rest of the commie BS police state organizations. Its time for us to have the proper government, it should only have 2 functions. 1) provide for the common defense and 2) create and enforce the laws. EVERYTIME a government goes beyond these precepts we end with CORRUPTION.
Wait for the media reports about the partisan appointment of her replacement. She being a non-partisan liberal appointee.
The only way to stop partisan appointments is to eliminate the body requiring the appointment.
RW,
Are you saying that we should get rid of the following partisan appointed unelected positions, Prime Minister, Provincial Premiers, Senators, every single judge, police chief and just about every other political position of consequence?
How about let’s start with the non-partisan appointments like your Head of State, Governor and Lieutenant Governors.
Come to think of it, excluding your local mayor, can you think of any leadership positions in Canada that are elected positions?
The left will cite this as more “totalitarian” like behaviour by Harper,
ever forgetful that it is Harper and his government, and not the senior civil servants are the elected, accountable heads of government.
The left prefers to have a small elite group of non elected, liberal appointed, bureaucratic heads, run things on their own without government “interference”.
Once again, Jonah Goldberg’s “Liberal Fascism” is proving to be one of the most insightful analysis in modern political discourse.
“EVERYTIME a government goes beyond these precepts we end with CORRUPTION”
Should read
EVERYTIME a government goes beyond these precepts we start and end with CORRUPTION!
Harper was elected Prime Minister?
Did he appear on any ballot, anywhere? He was appointed by the Queen and you know it and to say your leaders are elected is false and smacks of ignorance or blatant denial.
Oh Kate your are “wicked” 🙂
Love it.
oops…. it should have read “we end UP with”
Awww…it’s only her. I thought it was Hillary.
One down 1258 to go.
KPD, Harper was elected first by his party members in his constituency, which anyone living there can freely choose to join, second by the party as a whole, which, again, any citizen of the whole of Canada is free to join if they choose, and thirdly by the general electorate who had the freedom to chose between various other parties and the Conservative Party. Same goes for all previous Prime Ministers, with the occasional exception such as Kim Campbell, who only skipped that last tier of the primeministerial election process, but she went down within a few months later when there was a general election. You may have a point about the senate and some of the other institutions you mention, but there are democratic processes involved in most of them that provide for checks and balances. Not saying we shouldn’t have an elected position such as the office of the American president, but to suggest there is no election involved in the selection of a PM is quite obtuse. Too many elected positions, though, can sometimes lead to citizen apathy, which isn’t a good thing. So nice try, but no cigar.
If they did cost farmers $5.00 a bushel on durum and this has been going on for all Wheat board regulated crops it would seem to me she should also worry about court and jail. Theft, fraud stuff like that is serious stuff.
Has the money been adequately accounted for or has it just been vaporized by the bureaucrats. Who went wwweeee look at all the money lets just spend it wwwweeee.
Oh I hope the MSM does NOT report the $ amount on her severance — I have still not gotten over the D.Dingwall payoff. I would rather not know
LOL!! The wicked witch of the CWB!
Fabulous news for Western Farmers, Kate. Let us celebrate! I wish my Dad was alive to see the CWB reduced to rubble. He hated the CWB.
You will remain ignorant and controlled under this fascist regime. Those Harper can’t control must be eliminatd.

Libforlife, you’re name is apt…as the old saying goes, you can cure ignorance by teaching, but you can’t fix stupid…so you’re stuck being a liberal for life.
Or is it…you can’t teach an old dog new tricks? Or is it…your a Liberal in jail for life (where many of them belong).
Anyway, to refute your silly attempt at a stinger, I would like you to name ONE COMPANY IN THE ENTIRE WORLD that would allow an employee to publicly speak ill of the company without repurcussions. The bureaucrats work FOR THE GOVERNMENT and they MUST NOT ATTACK OR UNDERMINE the government. What the leftists call muzzling is actually called discipline.
Moron.
Libforlife:
What a cruel fate for a moniker.
Really you must get with the program CWB means Canadian Wheat Board not Canada Whores Barley.
Barley is not a WHEAT board specialty.
You’d think he was against free trade!

Libforlife @ 2.00 pm ….this fascist regime. ???
You lose on the ground of ignorance and exaggeration and also being the first to bring up the nazis.
You don’t know the meaning of words, you are simply sticking your tongue out and going nyah nyah like some 6 year old.
Looks like some munchkins liked her. They must have walked that yellow brick road with her.
“I would like you to name ONE COMPANY IN THE ENTIRE WORLD that would allow an employee to publicly speak ill of the company without repurcussions. The bureaucrats work FOR THE GOVERNMENT and they MUST NOT ATTACK OR UNDERMINE the government.”
We the voters are the ones who are supposed to be the ones electing this government, THIS IS OUR COMPANY, we own it. The infomation that is being withheld from the voter is paid for by the voter. Harper fears the informtaion we are not being allowed to see could affect the outcome of the next election if it’s not filtered with his spin first. Everyone who is a taxpaying voter should be outraged by what this government is doing to manipulate opinion. It should even outrage the thick skulled morons who voted these clowns into the position they hold today.
Hey libforlife…are D.Dingnut hiding under a fake name? You sure sound like it.Or did you just get some of the millions the Lieberals ripped Canadian taxpayers off for? Ah Damn. Sorry Kate.Forgot that I shouldn’t feed the trolls.
Everyone who is a taxpaying voter should be outraged by what this government is doing to manipulate opinion.
And still you’re a “Lib for life?”
After all the lying, cheating, and stealing the Liberals did/do?
Evidently your outrage is rather selective.
“You will remain ignorant and controlled under this fascist regime. Those Harper can’t control must be eliminatd.”
And a minority fascist regime, no less. That’s really quite the feat he’s pulled off, isn’t it!
Have you asked Dion about his role in that, lately?
Apparently Libforlife thinks only the press and his/her Grit friends should be allowed to manipulate information and people. The hypocrisy is quite breathtaking, especially given how Chretien’s PMO tried to control every aspect of life.
Then again, if you are so outraged, as as your Lib friends, feel free to defeat the government and consult the electorate.
No, you would rather manipulate a representation of what the public thinks through a complliant MSM. More breathtaking hypocrisy from our Grit power at all cost crowd.
Tomorrow is Super Bowl Sunday. Lots and lots of beer will be drank in Canada. I wonder how many of those beer drinkers realize that without malting barley, there would be no beer.
Not all barley seeded will malt, so farmers should have the freedom to sell what they want where they want, to get the best price.
They also have the choice to sell this crop for bio-fuel.
Reading blogs is so educational, just learned that our PM is appointed by the Queen. Let’s send her a huge thankyou for making such a great choice in PMSH.
She’s fugly. Nuff said.
MaryT
Would you by chance be serving burgers and chips with that beer ye make in yar barn love?
“should be outraged by what this government is doing to manipulate opinion.”
See, there’s this guy, kinsella, eh? And he wrote this book bragging about liberal dirty tricks and how clever they are. And that’s just one of the many reasons why people laugh at you and your silly claims and outrage.
…i’m offended.
Pretty little ladies in fluffy pink dresses should not be associated with CWB personnel.
What next, HRC compared with Kaptain Kangaroo?
Thou shall not contradict or criticize the Dear Leader. Then there will be joy in Small Dead Munchkinland.
Free Beer, I don’t make beer but my son does, and usually has burgers and chips during the summer.
He also makes a great wine.
KPD @ 12.06 PM, you are being disingenuous here, and in error.
Prime Minister – elected.
Provincial Premiers – elected
Senators – yes, they should be elected, not appointed liberal slime-balls (yes, I know some so-called “conservative” governments have appointed same) Now is the time to change this.
..every single judge, police chief and just about every other political position of consequence?
judges? Police chiefs? They do it in the states, why not?
However, “every other poltiical position of consequence” includes many that should not even exist, such as CEO of the CWB, because the CWB should not exist as a government, poltiical, organisation, and many more likewise.
You say: “How about let’s start with the non-partisan appointments like your Head of State, Governor and Lieutenant Governors.”
I say: These are the most partisan, not non-partisan. And, by all means, yes, they should be elected .. see comments about senators above.
You say: “Come to think of it, excluding your local mayor, can you think of any leadership positions in Canada that are elected positions?”
I say: Exactly my point, there should be much fewer political leadership positions that are unelected, which means, up to now, much of the establishment leadership is stuffed full of unelected liberal appointees, as the liberals have been running the country for 80% of it’s existance. You seem to have grasped my point without realising it.
Mary T, so where’s the aprty?
Heh..and the Wizard of Oz references/parallels keep on coming..
Any guesses as to who the ‘cowardly lion’ is?
How about the one who had no heart (nor stomach?)
How about the one who had no brains?
I think if i can be called one of Kates “winged” monkeys by that master of obsfucation WK, i think i can include Stephane Dion and any one of his cabinet in the above game..
Nice to see another of the CWB employees that didn’t want to respect the fact farmers voted for a dual barley market. The CWB’s books need to be opened for an audit and see where farmers money has gone over the years.
Correction to my earlier post.
Should have read nice to see her gone.
The Liberals ABHOR the thought of elected judges etc. They have been in power so long that ALL their judges are on the bench. They couldnt remake society if the judges were elected. But,there is a fly in the ointment,Sharia law isnt far away because of it.
Farmers are getting control of their lives again.
A watershed in the grain industry of Western Canada.
Thank you very much Mr Flaman.
Just one week ago PMSH made refernce to the Wiz…”Pay no attention to the man behind the curtain”. I believe it was in reference to the Lib tax man.
The arrogance of the Libs has no bounds! And Libforlife is so upset it must be the end of his cash-for-life appointment with CWB.
test
‘I guess that Smalldeadanimals speaks for the grain producers of Western Canada afterall.’
Couldn’t resist it.
Heh.
“And a minority fascist regime, no less. That’s really quite the feat he’s pulled off, isn’t it!”
Thankfully it isn’t a majority, we would be flying the Stars and Stripes over the parliament buildings in Ottawa by 2010.
“Have you asked Dion about his role in that, lately?”
Why did he have a hand in firing Linda Keen for doing her job? Isn’t it amazing how logic and facts have no place in the mind of a conservative?
When is the next opposition day, Canadians are surely getting tired of this government?
liberal-arts-and-minds.blogspot.com/2008/02/youre-fired-and-you-and-you-and-you.html
liberal-arts-and-minds.blogspot.com/2008/02/how-far-will-he-go-as-far-as-we-let-him.html
“Thankfully it isn’t a majority, we would be flying the Stars and Stripes over the parliament buildings in Ottawa by 2010.”
Why 2010? Is that your planned withdrawal date for Canadian troops to leave Canada?
Libforlife: Could you explain the difference you see between the firings of Keen and Allen by Harper and François Beaudoin’s firing by ChrĂ©tien?
The big difference I see is Keen and Allen were fired for opposing government policy and in Keen’s instance for opposing the will of Parliament.
Beaudoin was fired then persecuted by Chrétien’s goons because he wouldn’t do something that would have led to possibly illegal personal gain for Chrétien. If you want to remain so wilfully blind then carry on.
Libforlife, my condolences. Someday they may find a cure.
This was a Board of Directors (BOD) move – not a government move.
There are 15 people who sit on that BOD.
5 are appointed by the government.
10 are elected by farmers.
8 is the majority required for this firing to take place.
There are 2 pro-choice candidates within the farmer board. That would make 7 with the government appointees. Still not enough to make this decision.
I don’t know if it was 8-7; 9-6; or 10-5 on the vote to oust Allen.
What i do know is that some of the farmer elected Board had to agree to her firing to make it happen – and that is a very big move.
For me it is not about the Wicked Witch (that’s a classic Kate – I can’t wait until Hunter sees it)but that some or someone on the BOD moved and did not vote as a block – right against left.
That movement is significant. Someone within (a lion found his courage – a tin man found his heart) made a radical move from the past into the present.
And that is THE story behind the story that MSM is missing.
“Lib for life” is another way of saying stuck on stupid.
[qoute]That movement is significant. Someone within (a lion found his courage – a tin man found his heart) made a radical move from the past into the present. [/quote]
Larry Weber,
It could be the new CEO “Ian White” expects unanimous support from the board. When a board does not support the CEO it is normally a defining moment.
Strange one would think that the “business” part is run by majority vote (policy yes)!
You are not suggesting the Board Hires & Fires.. that could lead to all kind of Mischief requiring an audit
