At what point, does one awake to find the house on fire … but awakes too late to flee:
In a warning that will no doubt bring nothing but cries of “islamophobe” or “bigot” from the “progressive” class, even Bishop Nazir-Ali of the UK sounds the alarm:
The Rt Rev Michael Nazir-Ali, the Bishop of Rochester and the Church’s only Asian bishop, says that people of a different race or faith face physical attack if they live or work in communities dominated by a strict Muslim ideology.
Of course, reaction to the Bishop’s words are predictable:
The Muslim Council of Britain today described his comments as “frantic scaremongering”, while William Hague, the shadow foreign secretary, said the bishop had “probably put it too strongly”.
Liberal Democrat leader Nick Clegg said the idea of no-go areas was “a gross caricature of reality”.
My rant on this and a lot more can be found @ Cjunk

Liberal Democrat leader Nick Clegg said the idea of no-go areas was “a gross caricature of reality”.
Yes, I’m sure this is correct. The IDEA is a gross caricature of reality. The FACT that they exist, however, is just fine…to those in denial.
Almost wept, until I remembered that earlier today I read that tomorrow (Fri.) Christians will gather in London to launch the Global Day of Prayer London 2008, celebrating the completion of 2007’s continuous prayer, every minute of every day. Tomorrow, thousands representing all denominations, will unite in prayers and seek God’s favour for the U.K.
Muslims can’t stop prayer meetings – yet.
My parents are from Northern England. Since they retired they have traveled back to Europe regularly, but the last time they went was the first time they went back to there home town, which is now a suburb of Manchester. To quote mom, “its the same place, but all the people are gone, and I will never go back there again.”
Of course its really our fault. Britain effectively became a communist state. This took all opportunity away from the people and rather that fight it, they left in droves, as they still are. We can’t forget the most communist states have to build walls to keep people from leaving. If you don’t build the walls everyone leaves. Every single person on both my mother and fathers side left England in the 60’s and had prosperous and fulfilling lives in Canada, the U.S, and Australia. Of course when all the natives leave, someone is going to take their place.
I often wonder how the leadership in Britain feel about creating a society where the chief goal of the vast majority of the population is escape. It really is very depressing.
If you are “Progressive” you can’t see it and if you are told of it, you call the messanger “Racist”.
It absolutely amazes me that these seemingly posessed people would stand by and wave as their families are brutalized and think that those that will fight it are racist. Is it something in the water?
The original article from the Telegraph is linked in the Cjunk article, but the action is in the comments. The commoners are seeing that to which the elite is wilfully blind.
I wish we could get an honest assessment of economic impact of immigrants, by country of origin. They are not equal, obviously, but how much of a difference is there among groups.
My impression is that Asian and Indian immigrants are by and large additive to Canada’s economy, but that the recent wave of Somali and Ethiopians has been a dead loss – very limited employment, huge drain on welfare, and a serious problem in the healthcare system. There was an article a while back in one of the UK papers, where Ethiopian immigrants were far and away the worst, confirming this impression.
Canada is sheltered to some extent from the worst ravages of self destructive immigration and especially refugee policy that Europe has undertaken, but we are shooting our own foot, or worse, by taking in this particular group. They really seem to be a dead loss.
Why on earth are we importing tens of thousands of them? The Somalis are among the most rabid muslims, future jihadis will find them fertile soil.
The Islamic Republik of Britain
We already have a no-go zone where the police fear to go: It is called “Caledonia Ontario”
I always see a nightmare scenario for Canada where Europe rises up finally and Canada decides to be the remaining ‘enlightened’ nation and accepts as many muslim refugees as possible.

Miniteman,
I have heard, with my own ear, well educated British subjects blame USA (Hollywood) for taking over their culture without firing a shot.
I don’t think they are wrong!
Kate, I have tried, for years, from my lonely and draughty station on the internet, to wake people up to the danger militant Islam poses to the West:
-Islam, a Religion of Peace®? The Most Damning links…–
It’s one of those things you either “get,” or you don’t. Arguments- or those troublesome facts– don’t seem to sway one side or the other.
I just hope “we” wake up… in time…
Not Islamophobia. Not scaremongering. Truth telling. The Islamc imperialists are indeed conspiring and working hard to Islamize Europe and North America as well as the rest of the world. There’s no doubt in my mind, from the mountains of evidence I’m seeing and which the Islamists denounce with zealous fury.
The onus is on all Islamists to prove to us they don’t intend to force/impose Islam onto us all, that they won’t ever push Sharia law onto us, that they don’t plot to overthrow our democracies and implement Islamic theocracies…
Hey, if it’s politically correct to accuse Christian politicians of planning to theocratize the government and the country and “impose their views on everyone”, then it’s equally acceptable to say the same about Islamofascists, particularly whilst providing concrete, compelling evidence to bolster one’s accusations.
I don’t want to live in a world where I’m forced to wear a little sheet on my head, am forbidden to look at girls, forbidden to eat bacon, forbidden to drink, etc., etc…. And, you know, we should ask, say, the GLBT folks if they want to have folks like Mahmoud Ahmadinejad telling them that they have to be straight as a razor or else end up with a noose around their neck, being slowly raised into the air from the ground, as is done to their peers in Iran…
What on earth is wrong with telling the truth, especially when accompanied by evidence (which is curiously censored by the mainstream media)?
“probably put it too strongly”
In other words, what he said is correct but he just didn’t sugarcoat it. Not realizing, of course, that sugar coating is part and parcel of the problem.
The irony of it all is that the most dangerous parts of England, the ones where people are most prone to violent physical attacks, are the places where the British right-wingers tend to reside.
Judging by the posts here, most of you wouldnt mind moving in next door to the British Nationalist Party. Try it. They re a lot worse than virtually all of the Asian/Muslim neighborhoods in England. And like you, they re ostensibly protecting Englands cultural heritage and traditions and all that jazz.
Wonder what they would do to the good bishop – who as a muslim turned christian is about as unbiased towards islam as a christian turned atheist is to christianity. I suspect they d leave him looking like mulberry jam.
Grow up.
The problem with telling the truth is that sooner or later, you folk will have to face up to the fact that you re no better than the islamofascist. One right winger (or left winger for that matter) calling another dangerous is akin to a pot calling the kettle black.
Islam’s the new judaism for those of you who need someone to hate. First the jews were persecuted in Europe. Now its Islam’s turn. And when you re done with them, who next? Catholics?
I can guarantee you ll find someone else to hate. Its so much easier looking for problems in others than looking at problems in oneself, isnt it?
Well “Grow Up”, I hate idiot trolls like you… does that count?
Hey grow up,
Because you’re obviously a stupid, logic-challenged leftard, I’ll let you know the difference between the traditional victimhood of the Jews and the aggressive imperialism of the islamofascists: The former is no threat to anyone and the latter wants to cut your head off.
Twit.
I don’t need to hate anyone. You earn that. Just like you have.
I don’t have a problem with Hindus as they aren’t trying to subjugate me to their evil dogmatic religion. Ditto Jews, Christians, Buddhists, and every other non-violent, non-imperialist religion or ideology.
There are two groups I want defeated: Socialists and Islamists – and for much the same reason.
Here’s the thing Grow Up – when all three of the major parties abandon the field to the militant muslims, the only people left fighting are the BNP and their ilk – and no, I don’t like them, but I suspect that they will soon become far more popular than they currently are. In France the fringe (Commmies and Crypto-Nazis) parties often poll well over 20% of the vote. That’s sad in itself, but it is also an indictment of the major parties. Sure there are usually some freaks (generally less than 10%) who really do support the whackadoos – but when they go over 20% it is because there are serious questions that the mainstream parties are not addressing – in this case immigration and its consequences. It is a serious and urgent issue for many Britons and Europeans, but in most cases the “real” parties have taken it off the table, and left it to the real haters and other freaks. There is nothing inherently rascist or wrong with a country debating its immigration policy in a free and fair manner, and then adjusting that policy to suit national interests. If Britain’s economy requires, or would substantially benefit from, X number of immigrants per year, then they should admit them, giving preference to those with the education and language skills to make the best contributions (I would imagine this would benefit folks from India, HK and other former English colonies, but I may be wrong).
‘Islam’s the new judaism’
One of the more inane, Stupid things a leftist is likely to say.
Yeah, ‘grow up.’ We all know about those Jewish suicide bombers in Germany in the 20s and 30s. All the head-chopping they did in Poland, Austria, the Netherlands… how they murdered anyone who Dared publish something like the ‘Protocola of the Elders of Zion’…
Your moral equivalence is what is going to cost us all down the road. Moron.
‘Grow Up’ is a Muslim plant, or a leftist. Either way s/he can’t argue against facts. S/he can only state opinion and feelings.
I will put this to the test:
Grow Up, please describe the character, actions and sayings of Muhammad, including verses from the Quran, aHadith and Sira to support your premise. Take as much time as you’d like.
And then there’s this:
“I have heard, with my own ear, well educated British subjects blame USA (Hollywood) for taking over their culture without firing a shot.”
“I don’t think they are wrong!”
Really? Is it American industry erecting Mosques in Britain at an unprecedented pace? Is it Hollywood that wrote the script for the British blockbuster, ‘Jews and Christians are the sons of apes and pigs?’ Did Madison Avenue provide the top of mind ‘Allah Akbar’ slogan?
Finally, do you ever consult the grey matter located, ostensibly, behind your eyeballs?
holdfast, from everything I’ve read the biggest problem facing Europeans is that there are no real political choices for them to undo this mess. So, it’s no wonder that less mainstream parties that are conservative, who want to dismantle the worst of nanny state socialism and push back on Muslim immigration attract fringe racist groups. The lefty MSM then paints the majority of members as racists unfairly.
It’s going to be interesting to see the political fault lines that erupt when Geert Wilders throws out his free speech challenge on the internet. It’s a smart strategy. It forces another examination of what is being lost in Europe – free speech, control of their own destiny and their safety thanks to the socialist monopoly in power.
Remember, this is Kate’s site. Just yesterday, she politely asked;
But a request – again. When you read a comment written by an obvious troll, do NOT RESPOND IN ANY MANNER WHATSOEVER. You simply make my cleanup more time consuming. The site has search functions that allow me to pull all comments made by an individual up at once and mass delete them. But when you reply, you force me to go through threads one at a time to delete the orphaned replies.
Kate politely ‘insists’;
So, just don’t. If you have something to say on a specific topic, simply say it. It is not the intended function of this site to provide a forum for chat or extended debates with other readers.
Trolls are nothing more than ‘Sand Castle’ destroying spoiled children. They try to get attention by making a noise, causing a fuss.
IMO, the target of the Trolls is NOT other commenters here. They simply want to degrade Kate’s site so others will leave, not come.
I wonder if many of the Trolls are simply MSM types who are trying to keep their control of information in tact ?
sda is consistently Canada’s #1 blog.
It is much more than a blog — that is why some (WK) feel so threatened by it that they loose sleep and thrash around incoherently.
They know that, for the first time in Centuries, Millions now have access to the real story — because of the Internet.
Back to,
Europe: House On Fire.
Ron in kelowna, did kate plant you hear to sing praises of her blog. because you ve just posted 4 times, and said nothing.
irwin, i do not recall saying anything about what islam is or isnt.
but i wud suggest the good bishop should be more concerned about how his flock are fleeing instead of demanding that another religion be stopped in its tracks simply because his has started decreasing.
bishops should worry aboout their own church. the same, of course, applies to hindu muslim sikh buddhist rasta priests.
but then again, the most respected authority on any religion is one who was born to a family of a certain religious background and then turned on it. like dawkins, perhaps.
for what its worth, those of us who actually live on this side of the pond see a very different reality to the ones you seem to believe in.
and if it helps, i m not pro-muslim – and yes i think islam is fascist at heart – and deeply suspicious and indeed hateful of other religions. but that is hardly their exclusive domain – exclusivist religions tend to hate others. something about one truth. and too many versions of it.
not grown up- learn to spell. Capitalize the first letter as you open each sentence.
And find a Brain.
i am trying to grow up. i did learn to capitalise the first letter of my name though, a lesson that seems lost on you.
You are failing.
