    Some people are really catching the spirit of this event.
    Too bad the MSM is prooving itself insignificant…again.
    I could be wrong…has anyone seen coverage of this ‘out there’?

    Anyway! Saw the list a couple days in print but this just makes it that much more enjoyable. Should have been done to AC/DC’s Thunderstruck though!
    All spelling errors are directly attributible to this annoying keyboard………

The sad fact remains that Ezra is being persecuted by the government for being the only news editor in Canada who was willing to risk the anger of a maniacal fringe cult to let the Canadian people see what it was that upsets maniacal fringe cults and decide for themselves if the outrage of these cults was reasonable….IF we had no internet and only had the MSM to rely on , no one in Canada except Western Standard subscribers could actually voice an informed opinion on the Mohammed cartoon controversy….and now that lone voice of alternative news is under attack……this is how far down the rat hole this nation has sunk into bureaucratic tyranny.

  7. There’s a lot of information about defamation lawyer Ezra that is surfacing. The guy like to sue people and threaten to sue people – a lot. He’s basically a Warren Kinsella-type SLAPPer. You couldn’t possibly find a less qualified person to lead the fight for free speech.

  8. From what I can glean, Ezra has been involved in conservative causes from the time he was in college to the present either runnning as a candidate, organizing or publishing. I cannot find anything indicating that he has been a SLAPP suit defamation lawyer. So Reader, either links to support your claim or consider yourself just another troll.

    True enough, Ezra has put the fear of libel into those who would attack him with the threat of a lawsuit…but in civil litigation it is always the complainant who must prove damages…and from the defendant’s end, the truth IS a defense against libel in a legitimate law court.
    So libel law suits are a double edged sword…I really don’t see how a lawyer’s propensity to use the legitimate law courts to defend his and his client’s reputation from slanderers is a liability to being a crusader for free speech…they seem to dovetail rationally from a factual point of reference.

  14. I see that the Ezra slaggers are out spinning their tales about Ezra. Must be because he’s got these HRC types right where he wants them and they are afraid of losing their “entitlements”. They should be on this issue, because some people might go further than Ezra might go, in defending their right to free speech.

    Please redirect any charitable donations that you might be making this year to help the useless and the unmotivated, to Ezra levant. He is motivated and extremely useful to the most important cause of all .. FREEDOM.
    Please go to his site and click the donate button. He may take this gang of ‘thugs’ all the way to the supreme court and win …. FOR ALL OF US.

  18. Ezra has always been a defender of Inalienable Rights. He is also an inspirational speaker. A great combination for a champion of the people.
    The music is from the soundtrack of “The Last of the Mahicans” I believe? An old Scottish chant.

  20. If I am not mistaken Ezra did have legal issues with the Conservative party when he was asked to forgoe running in a Federal riding in Calgary. I cannot remember the details but there were threats of legal action and intimidation on his part against members of the Conservative party. I know some of the people involed I will have to follow up and get the details, but I do know some pretty staunch conservatives think he is a complete AS@####!
    That being said he is smart, articulate and at least in this case he is right. So he has my support 100%. Besides, if first they come after the conservative AS@#$#@’s then we can expect they will come after the nice conservatives later!
    Go Ezra! (Besides maybe an AS@#$%& is what we need to take on the Gestapo.)

    See Calgary Herald/Thurs/17th
    Calgary Sikh considers human rights complaint regarding being prohibited from taking a kirpan into a Calgary Courthouse. He had been subpoenaed as a witness in a fatal vehicle trial and apparently told that if he didn’t appear, an arrest warrant would be issued.
    Claims to be a “Canadian Sikh” – has never been forced to choose… but now has “made his choice”. This incremental hi-jacking of our social fabric via the HRCs has to stop. (Have to wonder if this guy is a soccer player).
    Let’s see if the HRC agrees to hear this one if presented.
    AB Law – no kirpans in any courthouse in the province.
    The Calgary Herald reports two days running on this story but nothing on the challenge to the HRC story.

  24. I just talked with Jeff Little/News director with CTV News Calgary.
    My question was – why is it that CTV News seems to be giving legs to the story re the kirpan issue and not dealing with the much broader issue of the human rights commissions and why they should be dismantled or at least reigned in on freedom of speech/freedom of press issues.
    He is aware of Ezra’s blog and says that CTV News has provided him/supporter(s) with a “platform for their views???? Perhaps I missed a 10 second clip someplace. I told him about the amount of info that seems to be circulating in the blogosphere and that the outrage re the HRC is not being covered in the MSM. He said he would check the blog again.
    I told him that there probably more than a few bloggers who may be considering laying a human rights charge against individual members of the MSM for not covering the controversy re the negative aspects of the HRC.
    His response. I don’t understand how this is a violation of your human rights. I tried to get through to him that not covering significant issues is such a violation and I believe that the HRC controversy is a significant issue.

  26. Ezra Levant is someone I would consider a personal friend, having known him and his family for over 20 years.
    Besides being articulate and charismatic, he is also consistently brave in his views regarding conservatism and freedom.
    Clever and well spoken (not to mention a champ debater) Ezra is more than happy to face down the buraucrats at the HRC.
    That being said, he is also an an amazing self-promoter who is surely loving this attention. I look forward to reading his (I’m sure) soon to be published book on this subject and more.
