  1. Whalll..dees are nod de “Izzy money” countries…uh hekcuse me a small chuk hove my brain has fell on da floor dere…

  2. He may have meant Normandy. But France is over it’s Kyoto targets also.
Of the countries that produce 77% of the world’s GHGs, only Germany & the UK have met or exceeded their targets. And Germany did it simply by moth-balling everything in East Germany after re-unification. 1990 was chosen for a reason.
The worst countries are the Asian countries. Thailand, Taiwan, Singapore, the Phillipines, South Korea, China are all between 100% – 150% above what their Kyoto targets would be if they actually applied to them.

  3. This is a letter I wrote Robert Fife after his appearance on Mike Duffy Show on Wednesday.
    Robert
Since you said on Mike Duffy Show that your daughter is very conscious and concerned with the environment, I hope you take the time to point out to your daughter how incompetent Dion is when it comes to the environment file. Point out how both Ignatieff and Chretien have pointed out that his record is one of dismal failure as far as Canada meeting Kyoto targets and also that Dion’s GHG emissions for Canada are worse than George Bush’s in the same time period. I know you would want her to be informed that Dion should have been embarassed to show his face in Bali with his failed and flawed record.
Let her read the following letter to Graham Richardson which illustrates the blundering and ignorance of Dion when it comes to Kyoto.

Subject: Dion’s misleading Statements about Norway
    Graham
When can we expect a correction of all the misleading information that Dion was allowed to spread on the Mike Duffy show on Tuesday. Particularly in reference to Norway when Dion tried to make the point that it is an example of a strong economy and yet will be close?? to reaching their Kyoto targets.
When you said they are not resource based and don’t have oil sands Dion replied they do have oil and they didn’t destroy their economy and then said a bunch of mumble jumble which was not relevant or made any sense.
However truth is carbon emissions have increased 80% (talk about being out to lunch on facts – Dion has learned well at the knee of Al Gore) in Norway instead of being decreased. (See News Item Below)
I know Mike Duffy would not want any part of this deceit and plain ignorance being spread on his show so I expect you to make the necessary correction for the viewers and Canadians in the interest of accurate reporting by the CTV News network.
    Norway’s emissions soar
Just as Norwegian delegates to the UN’s conference on climate change started heading home from Bali, came news that Norway’s own carbon emissions rose 80 percent from 1990 to 2004. Statoil’s refinery at Mongstad is the biggest contributor
Environmental group Zero has made a list of the 25 largest generators of emissions in Norway. Not surprisingly, the country’s oil and gas industry figures heavily on the list.
The Mongstad refinery on Norway’s west coast spews out the most carbon, followed by the new gas power plant Naturkraft at Kårstø in Rogaland County.

  4. So as Norway races ahead with it’s own CO2 emissions the Norwegian Noble Prize Committee awards the greenhouse gas scare mongers. The greatest fraud of the century continues to get more farcical. This is wonderful fodder for the Mel Brooks of the future.

  5. producing hydrocarbons has two end results making energy and making the two greenhouse gasses water vapour and CO2, period. who cares at which burner tip its emitted.
only a very stupid government of a large cold underpopulated country would sign on to something reducing emmissions. couple that with an increasing population and you would be entirely foolish. sounds like Cretian and Dion.
    Dat his not fair!!

  6. I suspect he is still flying high from his trip to Bali. He has been sucking alot of farts out of the Goracle mattress to offset the emissions from the trip.

  7. I too had the misfortune of stumbling across the interview the other night…….barf
    Here’s my favorite Dion quote.
quote “Dey… dey did not… first” end quote
    Wowsers!

  8. Note to Stephane Dion: being Al Gore’s poodle requires more than a dog named Kyoto.
Not that the Kyoto-dog parallel is inappropriate, or that making factual errors distinguishes you from Al.

  9. My favourite(?barf?) part of the interview was when it was over. Not just because it meant Stephane would no longer be speaking, but also he couldn’t even muster a, “Happy Holiday,” (heaven forbid it was a, “Merry Christmas”) for Graham. All Graham got was a, “Happy New Year.”

  10. Christmas doesn’t exist in the world of ivory towered marxists like Dion
He should have wished him a very merry ‘workers control the means of production’ day…

  11. I don’t particulary care what political persuasion visitor’s here may be,but how can ANYONE accept Dion’s environmental blather without immediately linking it to his UNDENIABLE history of utter INACTION?
I am constantly amazed at how LPC supporters in particular demand so little integrity of their leaders. And yes, repeatedly preaching one thing while owning a distinct track record of doing another is a prime example of being ethically challenged.
The f**cking press sure aren’t holding his hypocritical feet to the fire. They are giving him an absolute free ride on this portfolio.

  12. It must have been funny to see Dion in Iqaluit yesterday when the temperature was several degrees below normal, with a wind chill of minus 45 deg. It would have been most fitting for him to have got frost-bitten on top of his Bali sun burns, couldn’t happen to a nicer guy. Good good timing for him to be promoting global warming projects in the Arctic on a minus 40 day.
I want to ask Stephan- Why was that really big island in the North Atlantic named “Greenland” rather than “Whiteland”. I have flown over it at least 50 times and everytime I looked at it, it was white? Hmmm??
