There they go again, those evil Yanks and their evil Armed Forces, immediately coming to the aid of badly stricken folks who happen to be Muslims. (BTW, Muslims who are without oil and are not in any position to benefit the US in any way.)
Meanwhile, where’s the “International Community” aid? Or UN aid? Or the EU aid? Or the Russian or Chinese aid? Or the Islamic Aid from all those oil-rich, cash-awash Islamic nations for their fellow Muslims in their hour of need? Close your eyes and what do you see?

USN To The Rescue Again

November 23, 2007: The recent typhoon in Bangladesh left thousands dead and millions homeless, or flooded out. So the U.S. Navy promptly diverted two amphibious ships (carrying 32 heavy CH-46 and 53 helicopters, as well as 3,500 marines) towards the devastated areas.
Bangladesh has not requested help, but since the U.S. Navy quickly went to the aid of Indonesian tsunami victims two years ago, everyone in the region knows about the U.S. Navy’s and Marine Corp’s kinder, gentler, humanitarian aid side. The Indonesian operation was very popular with the recipients, and provided great PR for the U.S. and the troops.
In practical terms, the helicopters are invaluable for moving relief supplies, and injured people, especially to remote areas that are difficult to reach by land routes. The ships also have extensive hospital facilities. The two ships won’t reach Bangladesh until November 24th, giving the Bangladeshi government time to decide if they want the help.
Meanwhile, the U.S. embassy in Bangladesh sent a team of 23 U.S. Marines to the southern coast of Bangladesh, to see how the U.S. naval task force could be used. In that area, containing about three million people, over half the crops were destroyed and thousands are badly injured. Roads have been destroyed and many villages have still not been heard from.

Syria bans Facebook
SYRIAN users of Facebook have complained that authorities have blocked access to the website as part of a crackdown on political activism on the internet.
“Facebook helped further civil society in Syria and form civic groups outside government control. This is why it has been banned,” women’s rights advocate Dania al-Sharif said.
“They cut off communications between us and the outside world. We are used to this behaviour from our government,” said Mais al-Sharbaji, who set up a Facebook group for amateur Syrian photographers.
There was no comment from the Syrian Government, which has intensified a campaign against bloggers, virtual opinion forums and independent media sites in recent months.

When is someone going to challenge the Canadian Human Rights Commissions for their violations of the Charter of Rights?
The CHRC defines itself as ‘about censorship’ but the Charter, Section 2, states that freedom of expression is a basic Human Right.
So- which document defines the rights of Canadians? The Human Rights or the Charter? Which? They contradict each other!!
How an ex-Sunni Insurgent Became a US Ally
He [Abul Abed] hailed the car carrying the feared leader of Al Qaeda in the neighborhood, a man known as the White Lion, on one of Amariyah’s main streets. “We want you to stop destroying our neighborhood,” he told the man.
“Do you know who you are talking to?” said the White Lion, getting out of his car. “I am Al Qaeda. I will destroy even your own houses!”
He pulled out his pistol and shot at Abul Abed. The gun jammed. He reloaded and fired again. Again, the gun jammed.
By this time, Abul Abed said, he had pulled his own gun. He fired once, killing the White Lion. …
The next day, a firefight erupted. Al Qaeda fighters closed in on Abul Abed. Most of the 150 men who had joined him fled. Holed up in a mosque with fewer than a dozen supporters, Abul Abed thought the end was near. “The blue carpet was soaked red with blood,” he recalled. Then the imam of the mosque called in American help.

ET asks: “So- which document defines the rights of Canadians? The Human Rights or the Charter? Which? They contradict each other!!”
The charter takes precedence…the CHRA is nly a statute…the Charter is the guiding document for the rule of law in Canada…”anything in statute inconsistent with the Charter ism to the extent of the inconsistency” null and void in law”
This with hunt star chamber circus has gone on far to long without a charter challenge to it’s rulings and its selective case prosecution criteria.
The CHRC’s track record of rulings is distinctly prejudice of Christians and completely dismissive of the rights abuses of Islamic dogma and Sharia law.
Time to go for the throat of the beast…the way they and Warman are frigging around with internet free speech, the entire internet community, left and right, should launch a charter challenge.

Canada wins on Commonwealth climate agreement [Statement vague and not binding](sic)
CanWest News Service via National Post with files from Reuters ^ | 2007-11-24 | Mike Blanchfield
KAMPALA, Uganda — Canada has successfully blocked more than 50 Commonwealth countries that were seeking a climate change resolution that would force developed countries to adopt a binding commitment to reduce greenhouse gas emissions.
Prime Minister Stephen Harper successfully pressed for the deletion of key wording in a climate change communique that would have specified that all members support a “binding commitment” on developed countries to reduce emissions by specific targets.
Australia was the only other country to share Canada’s position, but with the defeat of John Howard’s government Saturday, the new Labor government was poised to ratify the Kyoto climate change accord, leaving Canada as the only Commonwealth country to oppose that wording.
A “Climate Action Plan”, issued on the second day of a Commonwealth summit, contained only vague language on the way forward in the battle against global warming. The organization’s secretary-general, Don McKinnon, called the agreement “quite a leap forward” but it appeared to stop short of the major statement which many members, led by Britain, had wanted ahead of a world environment summit in Bali next month.
Canada’s Commonwealth partners — Britain in particular — were not happy with the Harper government’s hard line. But it appeared that even after a bilateral meeting with Prime Minister Gordon Brown Saturday afternoon, Harper could not be persuaded to back down. …-

The Commonwealth “targets” that Harper was against were a joke – we must have hard emission targets – I mean you, not me, that is.
Good for Harper to oppose this transfer of production nonsense, which makes no sense; after all developed countries would be forced to send their factors of production to developing ones (those with far less stringent environmental regulation). Many forget the Rio conference where it was clearly stated the end game was to move industrial production from the first to the third world.
No, we must develop clean technologies in first world, which can be shared with developing. It’s a cruel joke to assume we can bribe third world into “developing” clean fuel technologies.

FREE DOMINION SHOWDOWN WITH RICHARD WARMAN
http://www.freedominion.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=91127
“”n my opinion…
Richard Warman is subhuman vermin
It is my opinion that Richard Warman is utter scum. I believe he, and people like him, is a threat to the liberty of every Canadian and represents a political disease in Canada.
I believe he is the type of human being and lawyer who besmirches the entire legal profession, and that as an employee of the Canadian Department of Defense he taints the entire federal government.
I believe Richard Warman has developed a very lucrative sideline whereby he attacks individual Canadian citizens using the weight of the CHRC or the Canadian courts to enrich himself monetarily. I believe he is severely damaging freedom of speech of every Canadian by his actions.
I believe Richard Warman spends his time, when he’s not googling himself, searching the internet for something he can falsely claim he is offended by and then convinces liberal judges he is for real.
I believe Richard Warman has engaged in behaviours that are so unethical that he should be barred from ever practicing law in Canada again and that he should be proscribed by law from continuing in his politically motivated , self-enriching, campaign of suing Canadians for a living.
I also believe I still have the right to voice and publish my personal and political opinions in Canada and I hereby invoke my rights to freedom of speech and political opinion by publishing my opinions.
I have formed my opinions of Richard Warman from things I have read about his actions, from people I’ve talked to about him and, from his politically and financially motivated actions against me and Connie and Free Dominion, my opinions about him are reinforced and verified.
The above are my personal and political opinions, just as all the quotes by Free Dominioners that Richard Warman is citing as libelous and slanderous are personal and political opinions.
I believe Richard Warman thinks he should be above criticism, that he thinks he should be able to destroy personal and professional lives while severely damaging freedom of speech and that he should be able to make even more money from anyone who dares to publicize what he is doing.
I will be surprised if Richard Warman, in his self adoped role as Canada’s Censorship Champion, doesn’t stay true to form and sue me for voicing yet another opinion.
I believe there will always be scum like Richard Warman who will threaten the liberty and freedom of Canadians. I believe it is the duty of every citizen who values the freedoms we enjoy to fight the Richard Warmans of the world. If no one stands up to them they will walk over us all.
I believe if Richard Warman wins his case against us the precedent will be set where no Canadian will dare to own a discussion forum because the owners will become legally responsible for the opinions of others, while those who actually wrote the opinions could remain unpunished. It is a fundamental basis of freedom the we are not responsible for the opinions of others.
Our fight for freedom of speech against Richard Warman will set precedents that will effect the freedom of Canadians into the unforseeable future. If Richard Warman wins this case it will be a terrible blow to Canada.
But I believe, based on Richard Warman’s actions to date, that he will once again willingly damage the freedom of Canadians for personal gain.
This is one of the many reasons I believe Richard Warman is utter scum who should have to wear a Scarlet Letter for what he has done.
We will fight Richard Warman. We will not stop exposing his actions to Canadians. If Richard Warman can find a judge corrupt enough to rule in his favour it will do him no good and us little harm.
But if he continues with his politically and financially motivated attacks on Free Dominion and freedom in Canada, he will ensure his name is forever associated with censorship.
This is as it should be.””
Wow! Talk about OT.
As an Australian and a conservative, I wish to congratulate Kevin Rudd and hope that he will be as remarkably successful, in all spheres of endeavour, as the 11 year government of John Howard.

“Commonwealth Abandons Climate Change Plan”
http://www.thestar.com/sciencetech/Environment/article/279559
Comme d’habitude, misleading headline from Red Star. What was abandoned was Canada, at 2-3% of anthropogenic emissions, expected to have hard target reductions of CO2, while India may keep on spewing, in fact, can take on our industrial factors of production and spew even more because, as everyone knows, the developed world leads the way in clean energy technology and research (sarc off).
BTW, isn’t accompanying photo the same doctored one that was uncovered before?
jlc, in all fairness to PMSH, John Howard always had a MAJORITY government.
Harper & Co. were lucky to eke out enough seats to form a MINORITY government, thanks to the brainwashed Liberal Party voters in Ontario and the Maritimes.
How much Liberal corruption and incompetence does it take to get enough of those voters to have that “moment of clarity”, as Alcoholics Anonymous calls it, and votes for a reforming alternative? Apparently as long as the Liberal Leader doesn’t commit murder or a sex crime in front of a TV camera, they’re safe and can count on the Pavlovian Liberal voters.

It doesn’t make sense to accuse Canada/Harper of alone (or with Australia)of defining the Commonwealth stance on emissions reductions.
There are 52 members. Doesn’t a vote take place? Is unanimity required or is a majority required? If it’s a majority then they could ignore Canada.
Did the Commonwealth insist on unanimity, or, was it persuaded by Harper’s arguments that their stance was unrealistic in application and economically disastrous?
The Star photo shows steam. That’s all. Boiling water produces steam, aka, water in a different form.
By the way, we know that the Kyoto agreement is simply a money transference scheme from the industrial to the ‘developing’ nations and has nothing to do with emissions or pollution.
You cannot, empirically, seek to control emissions on this planet and, as Kyoto does, leave out the heaviest polluters from the agreement, such as India and China. These countries are both defined as ‘developing countries’ and therefore, are exempt from emissions controls and are both expected recipients of money transfers via Kyoto Fines leveled against the industrial countries.
Harper was right to reject Kyotoism, both for its unrealistic goals, its non-universal application, and above all, for its operations as a money laundering scheme.
BUT, Canada is not ignoring emissions – or pollution (which many ignore); Harper has committed “to a reduction of 60 to 70 per cent below 2006 levels by 2050 through so-called intensity-based targets that peg cuts to industrial output, rather than through hard caps” (Star).
What Harper is rejecting is the Kyoto privileging of countries that can continue to emit (China, India, etc) and its money laundering program.

Trivia questions
1) C02 makes up what percentage of our atmosphere?
A 20%
B 42%
C 11%
D 5%
E .037%
2) What percentage of C02 does man contribute to the total of C02 in the atmosphere?
A 30%
B 75%
C 3%
D 18%
E 90%
3) What is Canadas contribution to manmade C02 output?
A 30%
B 11%
C 21%
D 8%
E 2%
The answers are
E. .037% or 370 parts per million
C. Man contribution accounts for 3 percent of the total amount of C02 in the
atmosphere.
E. Canadas contribution to the total amount of man made C02 is 2%.
When we multiply these figures we find that .03 x 370 (three percent of 370) we find that man is responsible for 11.1 parts per million of C02 in the atmosphere.
When we multiply that by the two percent that Canada contributes we get .222% or one fifth of one part per million of C02.
Keep these figures in mind when the media and eco doom mongers try to scare you into believing in man made climate change.
97% of the C02 in the atmosphere is naturally occuring.
1% is equal to 10,000 parts per million.
C02 concentrations in the atmosphere are 370 parts per million or 1/3 of 1/10th of 1%.
To put this in perspective an olympic size pool 50m x 25m x 2m deep contains about 2.5million litres of water.
Naturally occuring C02 would equal 925 litres
Of those 925 litres, man would account for 27.75 of them.
Of those 27.75 litres Canada would account for just over one half of one litre.
Or about the volume of a good long piss.
Something to think about next time you go swimming.

a different kind of Christmas poem just sent to me
The embers glowed softly, and in their dim light,
I gazed round the room and I cherished the sight.
My wife was asleep, her head on my chest,
My daughter beside me, angelic in rest.
Outside the snow fell, a blanket of white,
Transforming the yard to a winter delight.
The sparkling lights in the tree I believe,
Completed the magic that was Christmas Eve.
My eyelids were heavy, my breathing was deep,
Secure and surrounded by love I would sleep.
In perfect contentment, or so it would seem,
So I slumbered, perhaps I started to dream.
The sound wasn’t loud, and it wasn’t too near,
But I opened my eyes when it tickled my ear.
Perhaps just a cough, I didn’t quite know,
Then the sure sound of footsteps outside in the snow.
My soul gave a tremble, I struggled to hear,
And I crept to the door just to see who was near.
Standing out in the cold and the dark of the night,
A lone figure stood, his face weary and tight.
A soldier, I puzzled, some twenty years old,
Perhaps Canadian, huddled here in the cold.
Alone in the dark, he looked up and smiled,
Standing watch over me, and my wife and my child.
“What are you doing?” I asked without fear,
“Come in this moment, it’s freezing out here!
Put down your pack, brush the snow from your sleeve,
You should be at home on a cold Christmas Eve!”
For barely a moment I saw his eyes shift,
Away from the cold and the snow blown in drifts..
To the window that danced with a warm fire’s light
Then he sighed and he said “Its really all right,
I’m out here by choice. I’m here every night.”
“It’s my duty to stand at the front of the line,
That separates you from the darkest of times.
No one had to ask or beg or implore me,
I’m proud to stand here like my fathers before me.
My Gramps died at ‘ Dieppe on a day in December,”
Then he sighed, “That’s a Christmas ‘Gram always remembers.”
My dad stood his watch in that Korean Land ‘,
And now it is my turn and so, here I am.
I’ve not seen my own son in more than a while,
But my wife sends me pictures, he’s sure got her smile.
Then he bent and he carefully pulled from his bag,
Something red and, white, … a Canadian flag.
I can live through the cold and the being alone,
Away from my family, my house and my home.
I can stand at my post through the rain and the sleet,
I can sleep in a trench with little to eat.
I can carry the weight of killing another,
Or lay down my life with my sister and brother..
Who stand at the front against any and all,
To ensure for all time that this flag will not fall.”
“So go back inside,” he said, “harbor no fright,
Your family is waiting and I’ll be all right.”
“But isn’t there something I can do, at the least,
“Give you money,” I asked, “or prepare you a feast?
It seems all too little for all that you’ve done,
For being away from your wife and your son.”
Then his eye welled a tear that held no regret,
“Just tell us you love us, and never forget.
To fight for our rights back at home while we’re gone,
To stand your own watch, no matter how long.
For when we come home, either standing or dead,
To know you remember we fought and we bled.
Is payment enough, and with that we will trust,
That we mattered to you as you mattered to us
Thanks for posting that poem Cal 2.

Hockey Night in Canada again gives the finger to the rest of Canada. Earlier today I read that the Leafs are in Phoenix so finally we in the west will watch an entertaining game for once, I think. Montreal’s at home against Buffalo and Philly’s playing in Ottawa. So coming at it from strickly a pure hockey fans perspective, I expected to come home to the nationally broadcast Ottawa/ Philly game. But NOOOOOOO!! CBC in their wisdom decides to go all the way down to Phoenix and show, across Canada, the Leafs get blown out by the lowly Coyotes! Not till the mid way point of the third period do they switch over to a very entertaining Sens/Flyers match. In fact, I bet the second the schedule was made up they were booking hotels in the desert. Beautiful hot weather, golfing and Christmas shopping! There’s no life like it, at the CBC. Do what you want and just give the big F**King finger to the rest of us!
Take it easy Boots. The CBC has already said that it’s going to start scaling back on the Leafs and focusing more on the Sens and Habs … although they’re on a 3 game skid themselves.
Could be a new coach and/or manager for the Leafs by the time they hook up with the Habs on Tuesday.
Sorry Mississauga, but I just don’t buy it. If they were going to scale back, a good starting point would be NOT traveling to the USA(CBC’s favorite country)and showing the Leafs all across Canada, don’t you think?
