Talk about giving primacy of place to the truly peripheral. I’m beginning to believe this man is educated far beyond his intelligence. Stephane Dion hereby fails one of the fundamentals of leadership: the main thing is to keep the main thing the main thing.
And just think: a single-digit point swing in the next election, and this man could be Canada’s next Prime Minister.

Liz J. asked: “As for casualties, any mention of the number of Americans killed in that place?”
As at Sept 24, total NATO casualties (killed) were 628. US – 375, UK – 81, Canada – 71. Balance from a number of other countries.
Also, if the freaking Liberal government of Chretien hadn’t canceled the Helicopters ordered by Mulroney our Forces would have had another tool to save lives in Afghanistan.
If you notice who does these “close” polls you will see it is Liberal-friendly firms, and if you look at who the polls are for, you will notice it’s for Liberal-biased organizations.
I think these polls are deceptive, and should the Liberal support the upcoming Throne Speech that will confirm that internal party polling is quite different.
If it only takes a couple of points shift for the Liberals to win a minority govt (which will be gladly shored up by the NDP), then the Liberals should precipitate a Fall election and go for broke .. after all the Liberals should be able to shift a few Canadians over to their side with the right policies (promises).
The Liberals are still considered a decent political party in most urban centres regardless who the leader is … like Dion.
The problem with Trudeau, Dion and other ideology driven politicians is not the lack of I.Q. but passionate political bias distorting their thinking making them unable to see consequences resulting from implementation of their ideas. They are not evil or stupid people they are blinded by ideology they follow.
