  1. I love this thing, I’ve been following it a couple days now. The Lefties think they got a chew toy here and they’re just a bitin’ and a gnarin’ on it.
However, the true genius of the remark is somewhat deeper (and therefore completely wated on the Leftoids). Kind of a testament to just exactly how much the Lefties don’t understand what they are dealing with in Iraq and the ME generally.
The government of South Africa that imprisoned Mandela is reviled as the worst bunch of racist bastards ever, a blot on humanity and a tyranny without peer. Worse even than Hitler in some (Lefty) circles.
Be it noted, they let Mandela live.

  2. There is a commenter on this site that no doubt suppor this idiocy without any question what-so-ever.
This is what you can expect from socialist minds, they live on thin air, it is rather amazing how they get through life like that.

  3. Wow. I never would have thought that such awe-inspiring feeble-mindedness was possible.
The most distressing part is that these are the same people who religiously believe that they are superior and know what’s best for the rest of us.

  4. According to these same lefties, the situation in Iraq is incredibly grim, which makes it a rich source of humour for the progressives.
Why engage in an intellectual debate over the fate of fellow human beings when you can get a couple of cheap yuks and score some political points by distorting a very valid point made by Bush?
Maybe the reason such people are supporters of a strong nanny state society is that they know that without one they are sure to act like the assholes that they know they are.

  5. Personally, I think it’s sort of encouraging: people this dumb aren’t a threat to anyone, except maybe themselves when they try to use, say, an electric can opener.

  6. “Leftist” is going to become synonymous with “moron”.
Which is too kind to the bastards.

  7. This sums up the leftists and their breeding ground:
A recent commencement address from an Aggie to other Aggies at graduation from Neal Boortz, a Texan, lawyer, and Texas AGGIE. (Excerpts)
So here are the first assignments for your initial class in reality: Pay attention to the news, read newspapers, and listen to the words and phrases that proud Liberals use to promote their causes. Then, compare the words of the left to the words and phrases you hear from those evil, heartless, greedy conservatives. From the Left you will hear “I feel.” From the Right you will hear “I think.” From the Liberals you will hear references to groups –The Blacks, The Poor, The Rich, The Disadvantaged, The Less Fortunate. From the Right you will hear references to individuals. On the Left you hear talk of group rights; on the Right, individual rights.
That about sums it up, really: Liberals feel. Liberals care. They are pack animals whose identity is tied up in group dynamics. Conservatives and Libertarians think — and, setting aside the theocracy crowd, their identity is centered on the individual.
Liberals feel that their favored groups, have enforceable rights to the property and services of productive individuals. Conservatives and Libertarians, myself among them I might add, think that individuals have the right to protect their lives and their property from the plunder of the masses.
Something is going to happen soon that is going to really open your eyes. You’re going to actually get a full time job!
You’re also going to get a lifelong work partner. This partner isn’t going to help you do your job. This partner is just going to sit back and wait for payday. This partner doesn’t want to share in your effort, but in your earnings.
Your new lifelong partner is actually an agent. An agent representing a strange and diverse group of people. An agent for every teenager with an illegitimate child. An agent for a research scientist who wanted to make some cash answering the age-old question of why monkeys grind their teeth. An agent for some poor demented hippie who considers herself to be a meaningful and talented artist … but who just can’t manage to sell any of her artwork on the open market.
Your new partner is an agent for every person with limited, if any, job skills … but who wanted a job at City Hall. An agent for tin-horn dictators in fancy military uniforms grasping for American foreign aid. An agent for multi-million-dollar companies who want someone else to pay for their overseas advertising. An agent for everybody who wants to use the unimaginable power of this agent’s for their personal enrichment and benefit.
during your adult life you are going to hear an endless string of politicians bemoaning the plight of the poor. So, you need to know that under our government’s definition of “poor” you can have a $5 million net worth, a $300,000 home and a new $90,000 Mercedes, all completely paid for. You can also have a maid, cook, and valet, and $1 million in your checking account, and you can still be officially defined by our government as “living in poverty.” Now there’s something you haven’t seen on the evening news.
How does the government pull this one off? Very simple, really. To determine whether or not some poor soul is “living in poverty,” the government measures one thing — just one thing. Income. It doesn’t matter one bit how much you have, how much you own, how many cars you drive or how big they are, whether or not your pool is heated, whether you winter in Aspen and spend the summers in the Bahamas, or how much is in your savings account. It only matters how much income you claim in that particular year. This means that if you take a one-year leave of absence from your high-paying job and decide to live off the money in your savings and checking accounts while you write the next great American novel, the government says you are ‘living in poverty.”
    * You need to register to vote, unless you are on welfare. If you are living off the efforts of others, please do us the favor of sitting down and shutting up until you are on your own again.
    * When you do vote, your votes for the House and the Senate are more important than your vote for president. The House controls the purse strings, so concentrate your awareness there.
    * Liars cannot be trusted, even when the liar is the president of the country. If someone can’t deal honestly with you, send them packing.
    * Don’t bow to the temptation to use the government as an instrument of plunder. If it is wrong for you to take money from someone else who earned it — to take their money by force for your own needs — then it is certainly just as wrong for you to demand that the government step forward and do this dirty work for you.
    • Don’t look in other people’s pockets. You have no business there. What they earn is theirs. What you earn is yours. Keep it that way. Nobody owes you anything, except to respect your privacy and your rights, and leave you the hell alone.

Sums up failures like alby and other assorted losers who could only find comfort in school again.

  8. Doctrinare lefty natterers never solved a single crisis they agonize over….that takes moral conviction…all they have is an endless supply of nattering and preachy moral busibody lecturing.

  9. I beg to differ WLM. Over time there has been any number of Action Committees formed, and grants awarded for studies. Come now, have you a heart of pure stone?

  10. “Leftist” is going to become synonymous with “moron”.
JL, the phenomenon is more likely due to so many young people who tend toward liberalism. We all know the old saying…no need to repeat it.
When I go to Conservative “Town Hall” meetings, I’m a grey haired child of the forties, and am often one of the youngest people there.
When I go to Lib/Dip THM’s, I’m one of the rare old guys.

  11. Only the Liberal Lefties know what’s good for us,they treat us like we’re all just children. A bit of candy here and there gets the kid’s begging for more.
Lies, and damned lies, add a bit more candy and start anew with fresh promises, potential lies.
It’s all happened here in Ontario with McGuinty.
He had to know about the deficit he would inherit when everyone else around Queen’s Park knew, but he made promises anyway and said he didn’t know about the deficit, that may have been his first lie. He broke most all of them, and he’s asking for forgiveness, promising again not to raise taxes etc.
It’s a bad reflection on a population that returns such a person to office. Only a Liberal could get away with it, Conservatives are held to higher moral standards.

  12. I’m still looking for the video of Jon Stewarts’ typical comedic brillance. I heard the clip on talk radio, and was almost suprised at the dishonestely the left uses discrediting Bush…

  13. Well, from the comments above, I’d say it’s the (far) right that thinks itself superior. Anyone who disagrees is a “moron”, relies on feeling rather than thinking, etc. I assume that, with your superior abilities, you are aware of the bizarre contradictions in, “those stupid morons think they’re smarter than we are”. No doubt this is all some form of post-modern deconstructivist word-play that I as a (far) leftist am simply too stupid to grasp.
p.s., May I remind those of you about to reply that, “you are dumb” (and variants thereof) is not really a very intelligent argument – more a matter of feeling than thinking.

  14. “Well, from the comments above, I’d say it’s the (far) right that thinks itself superior.”
Well we are. We don’t want to take other peoples’ money, we believe that crime should be punished, and we don’t believe in a multi-tiered society, to name but a few examples.

  15. Left, Right or Center, no matter, a liar is a liar.
If it’s a superior attitude to be against all manner of corruption and lies, we’ve dropped farther down the scale of morality or even just plain decency.

  16. ‘Intellectual’ is the biggest misnommer ever.
Intellectuals in many cases are not, because they have spent too many years at those places of “higher learning”.
Why do so many grade schoolers think the Us are the place to be ?? Too many years in the public school system.
Why is the public school system like that ? Intellectuals.
    Intellectual is the bi……

  17. Andrew, is it not moronic to distort the efforts of Bush to bring up a very valid point that there is no one in Iraq that would compare to Mandela because Saddam killed them all?
Is it the mark of a great intellect to stifle the debate on the point with deception and lies?
If one truly cares about the plight of the Iraqis, wouldn’t it be moronic to derail the debate with lies?
Does the personal political agenda of those who accept and further these lies take precedence over the welfare of the Iraqis?
Are the Iraqis just pawns in a cynical political game or is the left simply moronic?
We keep hearing about the left’s famous compassion, too bad it takes second place to your political ambition.
Or is there some other reason the left keeps hurting the Iraqis with their childish and stupid mischief?

  18. As has been said too often even though it is too true. “Getting a University degree is a socially acceptable way of doing nothing”. Stay there too long and you begin to think you know something.

  19. “I’d say it’s the (far) right that thinks itself superior”
Hey, exile, give us a little of that leftoid compassion. Many on the right do think that way, but for cryin’ out loud, who can resist? It’s so tempting…

  20. exile,
“you are dumb” is a perfectly reasonable argument to use against those berift of the mental faculties to comprehend anything else.
    What other choice is there?

  21. exile:
I’d say it’s the (far) right that thinks itself superior.
That is a ridiculous statement (note that I referred to the statement – not you).
Everyone thinks that their ideas and opinions are superior. Oh sure, everyone reads from the same textbook and we all know that we are supposed to say “Nobody’s perfect” and “Every idea/system has its faults”.
But, in reality, each individual person with an idea is really thinking “Nobody’s perfect (except me)” and “Every idea/system has its faults (except for the one(s) I envision.)
That’s OK and a reasonable starting point for a debate. We’re supposed to live in a marketplace of ideas – right? The problem is that the left (more and more) refuses to debate ideas head-on – probably because things can’t go any further to the left and still seem sane. They know this and they know that they can’t win in a debate of reasonable ideas. So, they resort to speech codes, redefinitions of societal “norms”, and cheap shots – like this one that this post is about.
When they can’t actually find a fault with what the (Republican) President says, they invent a supposed “gaffe” out of mid-air.

  22. Well, from the comments above, I’d say it’s the (far) right that thinks itself superior.
It’s statements such as this that only underline the point of the post. If one doesn’t hold their belief system “superior” to others on offer – then why on earth would you continue to adhere to it?
    And then theres this:
“May I remind those of you about to reply that, “you are dumb” … more a matter of feeling than thinking.”
Oh, hardly. In this case it’s a logical conclusion based upon the evidence presented. (See above).

  23. Don’t forget people I think the left invented the word and meaning of Paranoid. Just go and do the rounds of the left wing blogs and you will see what
    I mean!!

  24. Well, from the comments above, I’d say it’s the (far) right that thinks itself superior.
Our views are superior to those mentally retarded leftists who babble endlessly about conspiracy theories and whine about nonsensical tripe like man-made global warming. You leftist bedwetters are a bunch of emotionally driven, morally equivocating, historically illiterate ingrates. Not to mention liars, cheaters and cowards to the core.
Our views on economics are superior to that of leftists, our views on foreign affairs are far superior to that of leftists, our vies on humanity are far superior to those of leftists and Conservatives look better than you wretched leftist hippes.
    From America with love.

  25. Uh?
Last time I checked Jon Stewart was a comedian with a show on Comedy Central, not someone to whom one should go for news. Deriding him for not practicing what he preached on “Crossfire” is to miss the entire point of his show. I guess for the older people you’re excused for being out of the “cultural literacy” loop. Otherwise you’re probably just an idiot. His point on “Crossfire” for those who are struggling with modernity was that shows like [crossfire] don’t present news; they just present partisan hack bullshit. Tucker Carlson asked him why Steward didn’t present the full news. Stewart’s response “My show is on Comedy Central, yours is on the Cable News Network”
As for the question of why young people dominate at NDP/lib meetings and the elderly at conservative functions…
-Young conservatives mostly want to spend the early parts of their lives developing wealth and family, while young socialists do not have those distractions. Also these socialists want to make a difference for everyone rather than making a difference for themselves.
-Old socialists have radicalised themselves beyond any reasonable level of thoughtful debate. I’m talking about NIMBYs, Watermelons and BANANAS here. Old conservatives like telling the younger generation what to do.
So, in conclusion, you may be an idiot if this Jon Stewart thing actually grinds your gears, and old socialists are idiots in general.
A comedian took something the President said out of context? GASP!!!!
BANANA – Build absolutely nothing, anywhere near anyone.

  26. I agree with The Phantom.
Bush’s comment actually shows his depth of understanding of the real problem in Iraq. He is saying that Iraq has a lack of leaders who can bring the various groups in Iraq together – Saddam made sure of that. The best they have right now is al-Maliki – and he has not been able to create a bridge – yet – with Sunnis. Mandela brought all the factions (black, white, rich, poor) in South Africa together because he was seen as a leader by all factions and he was able to fairly reach out to all factions.

  27. Cconn,
If Mandela was able to bring all the factions of SA together why does 90% of the white population live in diaspora? SA went from tyranny of the few to tyranny of the majority.
I work with many (fmr) South Africans for a company started in South Africa… all based in Canada now. Mandela is a hero to some because he has a story that appeals to romantics. But he was also a terrorists and his methods of political consensus were more suitable for Burma or Azerbaijan than a nation-state of the commonwealth.

  28. Missing the point Jon. What’s at issue is the Honky regime that locked up Mandela is commonly used as an example of everything bad by the Left. They were the worst, baddest, evilest, most racist tyrannical bunch of baby eaters that ever walked the Earth according to the Left. Lefties hate those guys more than US Fruit. Kill them all, let Gaia sort them out.
Saddam is lately held up as less bad than the American Invasion. This is stated not just by the moonbats but also their enablers and fellow travelers in the US Senate. Much has been made of the “failure” of the USA to get any reasonable people to stand up and resist Al Qaeda in Iraq.
Bush says, correctly, that anybody willing to stand up and resist anything in Iraq is long dead. Their family and friends are most likely dead too. Mandella wouldn’t have lasted a New York minute in Iraq. Saddam made the racist baby eaters of South Africa look like angels of friggin’ mercy.
How stupid (or dishonest) then is the Left?
More to the reality of things, how stupid are we that these kind of people are elected to government and allowed to teach in universities?
Say what you want about George Bush and his goofy domestic policies, he had the guts to go after Saddam against all the Democrats could throw at him and the common bloody sense to know it had to be done. Way to go George.

  29. Radical right wingers run most dictatorships. So don’t inclue us radical left wingers. You can run but you can’t hide.

  30. In early January of 2009 George W. Bush will no longer be President. At that time there will be a new President to take the oath. Maybe it will be a Dem, and maybe it will be a Repub.
Then that moment will dawn, within all those minds that have sustained themselves and their total existence with the narcotic called BDS, that it no longer exists as an opiate. It will be necessary to find someone else to blame, quickly.
I hope that the sudden shifting of gears and the implosion of millions of brains does not tear a hole in the fabric of the Universe.
If it is ever discovered that Bush was actually *smart* we may experience the reversal of the Big Bang.
