  1. 13-year-old w-i-n-s National Spelling Bee (No mention he is HOMESCHOOLED!)
    PMSNBC ^ | 5/31/07 | ass PRESS
Evan O’Dorney always eats fish before his spelling bees. The brain food apparently has served him well: He’s the 2007 Scripps National Spelling Bee champion.
    Commenter:
BTW, I did a google search for the boys’ name and the phrase “homeschool”…the ONLY reference I found was by the San Jose Mercury News–which looks like it is the closest thing to a “big” newspaper near Evan’s hometown of Danville!
Here is the link and appropriate phrase in that article:
Danville kid snags national spelling bee title with “serrefine”
    Quote:
As Evan hoisted his trophy, his mother Jennifer and father Michael beamed from the audience. Jennifer, who is his homeschool teacher and devoted herself to helping him prepare, blinked back tears. …-

  3. Liberal leader Citoyen Dion is a citizen of France.

Partisan Bickering Continues in the Commons
    Josh Pringle
    Friday, June 1, 2007
Prime Minister Stephen Harper suggests he’d take Liberal leader Stephane Dion’s opinion more seriously if he put on a uniform and served his country.
Harper made the comments as the Liberals continued to demand the resignation of Defence Minister Gordon O’Connor.
Harper told the Commons: “The Minister of National Defence was a member of the Canadian Forces. He served this country courageously in uniform for 32 years. And when the leader of the opposition is able to stand in uniform and serve his country, then I’ll care about his opinion of the performance” of O’Connor.
Harper admits he never served in the Canadian Forces. …-

  4. Banks subject to provincial insurance law
(May 31, 2007) In a decision that is bound to shake the financial services industry, the Supreme Court of Canada has ruled that banks are, in fact, subject to provincial insurance law. The ruling represents a major impediment to the banks’ quest to sell insurance in their branches.

  5. So what if Harper never served in military. Did Bill Graham, Coderrre, McCallum? No they didn’t (sorry McCallum was Air Cadet as teenager). Harper said he will trust O’Connor before he trusts Dion. Why? Because Dion knows zilch about military affairs and doesn’t want to know.
The above-mentioned Liberals were Defence Ministers or Critics, and not one of them has one hour military experience.
Now the NDP and Pat Martin want an RCMP inquiry into, get this, documents. Not happy at calling soldiers war criminals over non-documented “events,” now they want to start scandal over communications snafu.
No, you idiot Martin, we won’t be passing on classified information to you, given you are a Taliban sympathizer, you should probably be arrested instead. So, go screw yourselves, defeat government and make this election issue, I dare you.

  6. It shows how seriously the Liberals take Defence when they put that weasel Coderre up as critic and McCallum before that, they have no connection to anything pertaining to the military and as Liberals it was not on their priority list for decades.
Martin is nothing but a grandstander, high on himself.
Harper’s point was clear. He has a man with great knowledge of the military through years of service and high rank. He knows what is needed to get the jobs done. The likes of Dion and Ignatieff and yesterday “me stop pucks” Dryden ranting on about Harper’s statements have no bloody clue beyond BLIND PARTISAN POLITICS.
Harper conveyed the message they didn’t like to
hear, he trusts O’Connor’s opinions and judgments over anything they have to offer. As I’ve said before, they are not fit to lick his boots.
