Tomas Plekanek put the Czechs back in the lead on the power play at 12:05 of the second period, but Staal made it 2-2 by beating Cechmanek with a backhand at 3:22 of the third. Rostislav Olesz then knocked in a rebound to make it 3-2 for the Czechs at 6:36, but Shane Doan forced the extra period by shooting through Cechmanek’s pads at 10:57.

I emailed my MP, Peter Stoffer NDP, late Friday about my utter disgust with the behavior of all the parties in this mess. It was, you might guess, less than flattering!
I get home today and the caller ID says GOC/GDC…….hmmmm why is the Govt of Canada calling me?!!! I delete the call ID and forget it. Two hours ago the phone rings and it is the same caller ID. Shrug. “Hello?” It is Peter Stoffer calling for a second time! We talked about it for a minute or two. The normal platitudes of course, but it was nice to see he made an actuall effort to respond to my email.
If he ran for anybody but the NDP I would vote for the man in a heartbeat…. well not the Liberals or Greens. LOL
