Ever wonder about using restaurant oils and fats to fuel your deisel?
Certainly can save you a wad of cash.
Two fuel tanks required. Start the motor on normal diesel, then after the engine is running, one switches to chicken and chips oil, then switch back to normal fuel before closing down.
You can buy a second tank and filter kit from eight to $12 hundred. So there is a cost up front but saving $60 to $100 weekly can give a quick payback.
Vw Rabbit, Golf and Passat as well as Dodge, Mercedes and Commins Diesel owners are the most common converts.

[From the Boston Globe]. . .
**Joel Henderson isn’t a hippie, a tree hugger, or even a fan of expensive organic foods.
But he does worry about rising gas prices, so earlier this year he spent $1,200 to convert his 2001 Ford F-250 diesel pickup to run largely on grease that’s been discarded from restaurants.
The 35-year-old Whitman information technology worker must endure the sometimes messy and complicated process of collecting grease as well as the occasional whiff of fries in his truck.
But he says it’s worth it because he now only needs enough diesel fuel to start up and shut down the engine.
”I drive about 50 miles a day and never spend more than $10 a week on fuel,” said Henderson, who estimates he would otherwise be spending about $80 a week.
Henderson’s fuel of choice is unusual in a nation that consumes 25 percent of the world’s oil supply.
But with gasoline prices in New England averaging $2.37 a gallon, a growing dependence on oil from foreign countries, and concern about the environmental damage from auto emissions, more drivers are turning to alternative fuels.**

This smear campaign is being run by Hoggan Public Relations, whose principal, interestingly enough, wrote this article slamming PR firms for doing work for organizations that he refers to as skeptic-scammers (SS). This is not terrorism, the FBI said. Just some nutty kid. In all these cases, the feds’ first reaction was to shrug. They said the perps were lone individuals who just went ballistic after having a bad day, as if anyone could have done such crimes.
But they weren’t just anyone. They were all young Muslim men. Of course, the FBI can’t treat all law-abiding young Muslim men as potential killers. But neither should the agency ignore this trend.”
Does this all sound like the “Marl Lepine” case to anyone else?
Yep Gunny99, it sure does. Never have I seen the MSM call him by the name he went by before it was changed to Marc Lepine. Gahmil Gharbi, the son of an Algerian fundamentalist Muslim that killed 14 young women for getting an education. Nope, not a terrorist act, no more than the POS in Salt Lake City.
Thank God for the response of the Cop in the Mall. He’d have killed an awful pile of people, based on the ammo he was carrying.
I don’t think that it’s odd that the cult of Great Satan produces these nutcase Koran quoting killers. It’s what they’re about.
Pat
I have a question that I need an answer to and I’m relying on you good people to help me out.
I have just been informed that our local high school
principal has mandated that all students in grades
9-11 be required to view Gore’s “An inconvenient Truth” as part of the curriculum. The movie will be presented in the classroom and attendance is mandatory.
Question- Would you in any way respond to this action and if so, what would you say?
Looking forward to hearing your thoughts on this. Thanks.
Lorraine: Regarding Zolf, you will note (as I had posted a few weeks ago on a previous thread) that Zolf’s column no longer appears on the main web page at CBC.
Normally, you could count on seeing a Zolf column on the main web page for at least 1 out of every 2 days on average…but this was when he was praising Liberals, waxing nostalgic for Trudeau and criticizing Conservatives. Now, however, it appears that Zolf has had a turn of heart and is praising Harper…this started when Harper unequivocally stated Canada’s support for Israel.
Now that he’s supporting a Conservative, his column hasn’t been up on the main web page for at least 2-3 months. Oh, how transparent the CBC has become!
Ratfuc: This calls for some Baffle them with Bulls–t action.
1: Call the minister of education office to get some answers to questions like:
Who sets the curriculum for what is taught in schools,
Is there a set program for each subject;
What qualifications must a teacher have to introduce a subject, and make it mandatory for all students.
Has the province made The environment a core subject: Who can teach said subject, what qualifications must they have. Is the course based on Cdn or American curriculum.
You get the idea, ask questions that will cause them to send you up the chain of command.
Request a copy of said policy.
If there is some way you can record the
conversation the better.
Be very serious in you questioning.
Next, call the Human Rights Commisssion, and ask similar questions, and ask if being forced to take a subject against your moral and religious beliefs could be reason to file a complaint.
Never mention the movie or algore.
Next call you mp and provincial member.
Once you have the info on what can and can’t be taught, under what circumstances a principal demand attendance, will the child lose/gain credits, be expelled, etc you can then ask,
But what if some teacher was in favor of-pick a topic that is outrageous-and watch the backtracking.
Now its time to go to the teachers union office, and start over. By this time you will have many more questions to baffle them.
Next you go to the local school board member, then the head of the board.
It would help if you could get a few more parents to do the same thing. Calls to the newspapers bringing forth you concerns help.
Letters to the editor don’t help much as they probably wouldn’t get published.
Then you start the gossip campaign. Mention, at work things like, Did you know that a teacher can force your child to take ———-and not be punished.
When you finally get to the principal, and are suitably outraged, discuss all your options, a human rights claim, whatever.
As equal opportunity is a phrase you might hear, that is the time to ask if there will be an opposing view presented during said course, movie, whatever.
This will take some time, but is it ever fun. It is also very educational, when you find out that most of the people you try to get info from haven’t got a clue.
You might get the same answer I got a few years ago, Alberta has a curriculum committee that meets to set up what will and wont be used in schools. This committee is made up of the general public, and certain sectors are given a seat on this board.
The results of all this could be: the movie will be shown, but not mandatory, and a child can not get an absence for not attending. It might surprise you to find out many parents are upset, because who knows what might be forced on their child next.
You might also want to find out if there is a cost to the board, dept etc for using this film.
If yes, whose budget does it come out of, what is
being taken away to have the funds.
You must also ask all those you talk to, after getting your basic info, if they have seen the movie, and if they answer no, ask, how can you make a decision on something you know nothing about. Shouldn’t parents have a right to see this before allowing their child to see it to be brainwashed. What other propaganda are you spreading via the classroom.
Years ago they wanted to show a 3- 10 minute movies in a health class. I had heard about these movies, and it was all on sex-ed. They were awful, and supposedly dealt with child sexual abuse. Before being shown, a few of us managed to get a parents meeting where we all saw them. Of course you had some that thought they were great, their grade 5 kids should know this. No one wanted to object because after all, an expert was giving us the lecture. I asked a few pointed questions, but no one wanted to show their ignorance by questioning this expert. Mothers and fathers were there. When this woman ended with the stmt, this is a very serious problem and it is going on right here in your home town. Lots of oohs and ahs. That was when I got up and looked around the room, filled with grade 5 fathers of girls, and asked, ok, she has just said this is happening right here, and I want to know, which of you fathers are doing this, and which mothers are allowing this. Finally it hit home who she was talking about. Course cancelled, and the next year that experts contract was not renewed.
One clip started with a family having breakfast, everyone dressed like it was christmas, at a dining room table. (how many families do that), with the father leaving for work, and telling his daughter he loved her. She flinched, and he asked what was the matter. She replied that susies dad said he loved her and it hurt. Would you hurt me?
It is very early so please excuse typos etc. This should be enough to get you started. Have fun and let us know the results.
From Jew-hater to a Jew-lover

As a Muslim, one just grow up hating Jews. As soon as the kids start understanding things, they are brainwashed with how the Jews of Medina had insulted and fought with our beloved prophet. This starts at too early age when Muslim kids haven’t grown old enough to know how to question. So, they never get to know the details. They just grow up with that hatred of the Jews ingrained in their heart and mind.
Although I personally grew up a believing Muslim with engaging myself nominally with the rituals and scriptures (which was the case with more than eighty percent of the young people during that time), I also grew up with that hatred against the Jews without ever meeting one, nor knowing the details of the circumstances that had lead to the conflict between the Jews and our Prophet. For the first time, however, I raised the question of why Muslims have to hate the Jews when I was a third-year undergraduate student, while discussing about some event that took place in -Israel/Palestine with a few friends (more religious and knowledgeable in Islam). The answer I got was that the Jews fought and insulted the prophet and Allah says in the Koran that Jews are a cursed people who will never find a abode to live in peace (my recent investigation into Islam finds it absolutely true). That was a good enough a reason – when Allah (the Creator) has said so, it does not require any further questioning and explanation. I didn’t question it for another 15 years until the following experience that changed my life significantly.
Before I paid a visit to Bangladesh in early 2002, a few months after the parliamentary election, I was already saddened with what had happened to the Hindu minorities in the post election days. The Jamat-e-Islami aligned nationalist coalition, lead by Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP), which had trounced the Islamo-secularist incumbent Awamy League Govt., went on a rampage against the people aligned with the defeated party. The ever insecure Hindu community which traditionally votes for the secular parties had to bear brunt of this horrendous campaign most. Rapes (including gang-rapes), torture and humiliation (with incidence of striping and parading the Hindu women around the village) became widespread according to media reports. One investigative report by the most popular English newspaper, Daily Star, had cited they had interviewed nearly 1000 Hindu women and girls being raped and gang-raped in a single district. The age of the victims ranged from an 8 year-old minor to a 72 year-old grandmother.
When I arrived home, I had more to learn about….-

The Kyoto horror show
Toronto Sun ^ | February 18, 2007 | LORRIE GOLDSTEIN
Here’s my list of the “top 10” problems with the Kyoto accord on global warming. Feel free to add your own.
1) The United States, the world’s biggest man-made greenhouse gas emitter — 20.6% of all global emissions as of 2000 — refuses to participate, arguing it would irreparably damage its economy and makes no demands on the developing world.
2) China, the world’s second-biggest emitter (14.8%), is exempt from reducing greenhouse gases because it’s a developing country.
3) The 27-member European Union, collectively the world’s third-biggest emitter (14%), undeservedly benefits from the economic collapse of East Germany following the meltdown of the Soviet Union in 1989, not because of anything East Germany ever did to reduce greenhouse gases.
4) Similarly, Russia — the world’s fourth-biggest emitter (5.7%) — undeservedly benefits from having huge “emission credits” to sell to other countries, not because of anything it did to reduce greenhouse gases, but because its economy also collapsed around 1990 (Kyoto’s base year) after the fall of the Soviet Union.
5) India, the world’s fifth-biggest emitter (5.5%), is exempt because it’s also a developing country.
6) Australia, the world’s biggest per-capita emitter of carbon dioxide due to its heavy reliance on coal, refuses to participate in Kyoto. Even if it did, it would be allowed to increase its emissions by 8%.
This as opposed to Canada, a big, cold, sparsely populated, northern country — necessitating the burning of more fossil fuels — which must reduce its emissions under Kyoto by 6% compared to 1990, by 2012. …-

I firmly believe that the world government via the UN started years ago. The first victim were our kids via the dumbing down of education, and the forced propaganda in our classrooms. algores film has been distributed to all schools, to be forcibly watched by our kids and grandkids. What else is being forced on them. Would said school mentioned by Ratfuc show a film or lecture by a kyoto denier? What would be their excuse for saying no. Keep your kids away if you disagree, then file a human rights claim for discrimination. The charter is supposed to give us rights, but all it does is take away our right to disagree with the cause celeb of the day.
May the Diety of your choice bless you, Mary T!!
Many thanks for the suggestions. This is gonna be one hell of a lot of fun!!

Rattfuc Re how to respond to the principal forcing kids to view Gore’s fil.
First — make sure you get some information about the inaccuracies in Gore’s film. It would also be an easy thing to give the principal a copy of some critical articles: http://tinyurl.com/rxzhx
and http://www.reason.com/news/show/116471.html. Some interesting statistical facts here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YZ3EM2a1Qjg.
Second — see if you can identify other parents who have concerns similar to your own and enlist their support.
Third. With or without the support of other parents, indicate to the principal that you consider the film to be propaganda and an incomplete and misleading portrayal of the controversy surrounding global warming. Insist that students should be excused from viewing the film with a parental note. If the principal refuses to comply you can contact your school board rep (most principals don’t like controvercies). Sending a letter of protest to a local newspaper is another way to raise concerns and perhaps attract support.
Another idea would be to request that the school invite a guest with an alternative point of view. This may not be easy, but if you are in a city you may be able to locate a speaker who is affiliated with initiatives such as http://www.friendsofscience.org.

Officers walk out as inflation hits 1,600 per cent – but the president’s £1m birthday party goes ahead
Andrew Meldrum in Johannesburg
Sunday February 18, 2007
The Observer (UK)
Widespread desertions from Zimbabwe’s army and police are weakening Robert Mugabe’s security forces as large strikes loom because of the country’s deepening economic collapse. With inflation now at a global record of 1,600 per cent, The Observer can reveal that soldiers and police officers who cannot feed their families are leaving their posts in large numbers.
Flyers of army officers who have gone missing are posted in the hallways of the King George VI headquarters in Harare and the 1 Commando quarters near the airport, according to journalists.
‘There are Awol notices up in the barracks, our reporter saw them,’ said Bill Saidi, editor of the Standard newspaper. ‘Discontent is very high up to mid-level officers. They do not earn enough to buy basic groceries. They are suffering the hardships all of us suffer now, yet they are the ones Mugabe depends upon to be ruthless in putting down any opposition. It adds up to trouble for Mugabe.’ Unhappiness is also rife among police. More than 10 per cent of officers have resigned and will leave next month, according to a report by Police Commissioner Augustine Chihuri, leaked to the Harare press. Many are joining the flood of the more than two million Zimbabweans estimated to be in South Africa.
Mugabe can ill afford weakening security forces as popular unrest is growing. A strike of doctors and nurses at government hospitals is in its eighth week and threatens to spread to teachers and civil servants. Trade unions are considering calling a nationwide general strike, despite the beatings and torture meted out to labour leaders last …-

Rattfuc, I’d sure do something. IMO, as an educator, this principal has altogether overstepped his/her limits. This may be a good thing: by playing his/her cards so blatantly, if the community didn’t know already, it does now that it’s got a PC fanatic in the principal’s office. Keep an eye on this person.
I’ve just passed on your query to a retired principal I know. I wrote:
“Does a principal have the right to do such a thing? I’d say no. And, given that this movie is very controversial, who does the principal think s(h)e is? On what compulsion–you fail, lose marks, get a month of detentions, get suspended, expelled . . . ?–can a principal do such a thing? If this movie isn’t mandated by the Ministry, I’d say that the principal has no authority to impose it on his/her students. And, even if the Ministry mandated this what-many-consider-a-propaganda piece, don’t parents have the option to opt their children out? I’d appreciate your expert advice on this.”
Re mary T’s advice: do you have that much time? And be aware that the Human Rights Commissions and Teachers’ union will not be in your camp. They’ll obfuscate like hell or outright shove you aside. But do contact the Ministry and Board, asking for information–in writing–on the duties and obligations of both the principal and parents, as well as policy on what material, not in the curriculum, such as commercial movies, may be used in schools. Also ask about copyright issues.
Along with questioning the authority of the principal to impose propaganda on the students and asserting the parents’ right to opt kids out of questionable activities, a good tack might be to also question the copyright infringement that might be involved in showing a commercially produced movie in a school. Does the school have an agreement that allows it to show this movie in all its classrooms?
Document all phone calls and follow up with an email to the person involved, outlining the details of the topics discussed. They will not like this paper trail, but it will put some reins on what will likely be their sneering attitude and their attempts to bluff and shove your concerns aside. Also, be sure to get the name and position of the people to whom you speak and their phone numbers and email addresses–right at the beginning. Then they know you mean business.
I think contacting the principal directly, asking on what authority–chapter and verse, in writing–he/she has made such an arbitrary decision is quite in order. Also ask what the sanctions against students whose parents opt them out will be–in writing and on what grounds. I believe that this principal will have great difficulty justifying such an arbitrary use of his/her power. Being required to do so in writing–you have every right to demand this–should dampen his/her ardor somewhat. Be sure to contact the superintendent as well: although he/she is likely there to support the principal no matter what–be prepared for more obfuscation–no super wants to have to deal with TROUBLE. If you’re willing to up the ante and not back down, the super will not like that. Perhaps the showing of the movie will be postponed or altogether cancelled, not because the super has any ideological concerns, but simply to make the problem go away. (Remember, these people are usually politicians: that’s how they got to where they are now.)
In the jurisdiction in which I teach, principals have vast powers: many of them misuse them. However, even though they, themselves, regularly ignore board rubrics that are in place in order to specify their obligations and curb abuses, if a parent asks questions and demands answers in line with board policy, it’s not so easy for them to slip away. It just depends on how willing you are to become a scapegoat and suffer abuse from the system. Believe me, that’s one of their tactics. Parents are not exempt. (Why do you think most teachers keep their heads well below the ramparts? Most public boards in these PC times are like gulags: teachers are ruled by fear and recriminations.)
I’ll get back to you when I hear from my friend. (This person was the real article: always an educator, never a bureaucrat, much loved by all staffs.)
Another case of ‘Sudden Jihad Syndrome.’
From the New York Daily News:
GAZA CITY – Ali Abu Kamal’s relatives say they are tired of lying about why the Palestinian opened fire on the observation deck of Empire State Building, killing a tourist and injuring six other people before committing suicide.
Kamal’s widow insisted after the shooting spree that the attack was not politically motivated. She said that her husband had become suicidal after losing $300,000 in a business venture.
But in a stunning admission, Kamal’s 48-year-old daughter Linda told the Daily News that her dad wanted to punish the U.S. for supporting Israel – and revealed her mom’s 1997 account was a cover story crafted by the Palestinian Authority.
“A Palestinian Authority official advised us to say the attack was not for political reasons because that would harm the peace agreement with Israel,” she told The News on Friday. “We didn’t know that he was martyred for patriotic motivations, so we repeated what we were told to do.”
But three days after the shootings, Kamal’s family got a copy of a letter that was found on his body, they said. The letter said he planned the violence as a political statement, his daughter said.
“When we wanted to clarify that to the media, nobody listened to us,” she said. “His goal was patriotic. He wanted to take revenge from the Americans, the British, the French and the Israelis.”
She said the family became certain that he carried out the attack for political reasons after reading his diary.
“He wrote that after he raised his children and made sure that his family was all right he decided to avenge in the highest building in America to make sure they get his message,” said Linda, who works for the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees….
Oh, and how to solve ‘Sudden Jihad Syndrome.’
By Renee Viellaris in The Courier-Mail.
TERROR suspects could be given taxpayer-funded counselling for being angry or having low self-esteem.
Under the proposal, the Federal Government would provide psychological counselling and anger management support to terror suspects and those subject to control orders.
But secrecy surrounds the initiative because the Australian Federal Police has refused to reveal the specifics of its proposal.
Scant details were released through a Federal Government question on notice.
“Some of the options considered include religious education, psychological support and assistance with issues such as anger management, low self-esteem, social identity and family separation,” the AFP said, responding to a question on voluntary education programs for terrorists.
Comment from Jihadwatch.com:
Religious education, i.e., that ever-elusive Secret Qur’anic Decoder Ring that turns “fight against those who believe not in Allah or the Last Day…even if they are of the People of the Book” (9:29) into “be tolerant and peaceful toward those who believe not in Allah or the Last Day…even if they are of the People of the Book.” This Ring is said to be in the possession of many self-proclaimed moderate leaders, but they have never shared its inner workings with the masses.
The Opposition has also demanded to know what research shows a link between terrorism and people with low self-esteem.

China To Relocate Over 1 Million People In Shanxi Coalmine Sinking Areas By 2008
(RTTNews) – The provincial government of China’s Shanxi Province said it would relocate 1 million people to new areas from the coalmine sinking areas and shanty towns before 2008. China’s richest coal province, Shanxi faces the prospect of expanded sinking areas as a result of long-term and intensified coal mining. The Governor of Shanxi, Yu Youjun, at a meeting on shanty town reconstruction indicated that the provincial government in a joint effort with state-owned coal companies would relocate over 0.6 million people out of the coalmine sinking areas and shanty towns at a cost of approximately $859 million or 6.87 billion yuan.
Shanxi reclaimed 2.26 million square meters land of sinking areas last year, when about 37,000 families were moved out and relocated in new houses elsewhere. Oh great, just what the world needs, another Crusade. Just another grave to cradle scheme I suppose.
Rattfuc, another couple of ideas: Check out the Board’s “Equity” Policy. The wording may be very helpful to you. Of course, the people who framed the policies were not thinking of people like you at all, but the language probably includes you. And it probably imbues you with certain rights. This doesn’t mean that the principal or Board will recognize your rights: they will probably try to weasel out of that. But push on and boldly assert your rights. This should at least hold things up. (Remember, document everything.)
Also, for the sake of fairness and equity, request equal time to present the other side of the argument. Arrange an information evening if you can. Collate literature from credible sources to refute The Green Gospel.
What you’re willing to do depends, as I’ve said, on your willingness to be marginalized and stigmatized: the lefties–and the educational establishment’s largely comprised of lefties or their stooges–will be mighty angry with you. However, if you can stir things up enough–media involvement, maybe?–the principal might just realize that he/she’s stirred up a hornet’s nest. The higher ups, including trustees, don’t like principals causing a political mess.
Rattfuc: One more thing you might try–as though you don’t have enough suggestions.
Push the “parental choice” option. The lefties are big “choice” supporters and you could point out that extra-curricular (meaning not in the science curriculum) videos are surely a matter of parental choice, seeing as grade six students are legal minors. It is up to parents–it is their responsibility–to choose whether their child(ren) see this video or not.
In this way, you’re not saying that ALL students shouldn’t see it, you’re invoking the vernacular of the left: CHOICE.

“Cui prodest?” (Who gains?) was the question the ancient Latins were asking themselves when trying to figure out the explanation of certain actions.
I asked myself that question last Wednesday during the vote on the Liberal motion asking the government to implement the requirements of the Kyoto Protocol.
The obvious answer is “the environment,” meaning all of us, as long as it is possible to implement Kyoto within the required time frame.
At this point the debate becomes foggy and, at the same time, the hypocrisy of the Liberals more evident. But, is it just hypocrisy or is there something more?
Let’s see.
The Liberals signed the Kyoto Protocol in 1998, committing themselves to reduce polluting emissions to the level of 1990 by 2012. Then they sat on the protocol for eight years, as now deputy leader Michael Ignatieff unequivocally stated during the leadership campaign.

Ten Years After Empire State Terror Attack, the Truth Comes Out
In February 1997, Palestinian English teacher Ali Abu Kamal went to the 86th floor observation deck of the Empire State Building, pulled out a gun, and opened fire, killing one person and wounding six others before killing himself. Even though he carried letters ranting about the US and Israel, the media heavily promoted the story that he was despondent and suicidal after a financial loss. Today the killer’s daughter—who works for the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestinian “refugees” (UNRWA)—admitted that this story was a complete fraud. Canadian Politics Has Become So Very Depressing
Update: Sunday 3pm
Yesterday I was depressed about all the hysteria and political correctness. Today I feel upbeat and challenged. The many comments I have read here and elsewhere (e.g., at Joanne’s Journey and Jacksnewswatch) made me realize that the conservative message simply has to be LOUDER than the Liberals and the Liberal dominated MSM. We need those ads. Moreover, with our blogs, we the little guys, have a medium to be heard. For those of us old enough to remember the 1960’s and 1970’s — we have to be heard over all the hysteria. We have to continually remind Canadians that the Conservatives can run this country and that the Liberals do not have to be the natural governing party. If we can’t be heard above all this current noise, history will simply repeat itself. Now, that idea is truly depressing!
Update: 7:30pm
Someone identified as “real conservative” made the comment that the arguing and hysteria is simply the Liberals panicking and, you know what, I think he or she is right. It is also the Liberal dominated media, apart from the National Post and the Sun group (for example, see today’s Post editorial “The Hypocrisy Party”).
…
I hope clearer heads prevail soon because an election now, or in the near future, will not be helpful for any party. Although PM Harper is always dignified, I would like to suggest, that as Conservatives, we stay at the head of the class with dignity and decorum.

Liberals are freaking and that is what is behind all of this now. They are seeing their power and influence slipping through their fingers. A socialist globalist loving Canada with strong humanist environmentalist overtones is gone that takes in anybody that wants to come here. That is not the Canada that I want nor did anybody ask me if I wanted it.

CTV has a new poll today…
“Is climate change affecting your life?”
Major_Tom, how does one access the poll to vote? I tried googling it: no luck.
BTW, I urge all sda afficionados to check out and vote at the Globe and Mail’s daily poll. One doesn’t need to have a subscription. The poll’s on the Globe’s web page, on the right side, just a short scroll down.
Warning:
Dissent/denial of the man-made “global warming” fraud is to be come a human rights law. Remember the Holy Inquisition; remember Galileo; remember Giordano Bruno:
“Campo dei Fiori
Giordano Bruno, executed on this spot for heresy in 1600.” (google)
Human rights agencies/councils, etc., are the sharia law/enforcement tools of the left-liberals, socialists, green-wackos, etc. …-
Inuit climate change activist committed to cause (ctv)
…
In another recent victory in her campaign, Watt-Cloutier was granted a hearing in front of the Inter-American Commission on Human Rights to investigate the relationship between human rights and global warming.
Watt-Cloutier contends the Inuit’s human rights are being threatened by governments’ lack of effort to counter climate change. She gathered a petition signed by 62 Inuit hunters, women and elders from Alaska and Canada, contending that their traditional way of life is no longer possible.
After a year of lobbying, the commission has agreed to a hearing.
“On March 1 the hearing is in Washington, D.C. They are giving us an hour — myself, and my legal team, but they want to broaden the debate. They want to see how this relates to the real legal aspects for all people who are vulnerable and who are negatively impacted by global warming and climate change,” she said.
“So it is a good sign. It is a good day for us to start to open this issue with that hearing as a first start.”
Watt-Cloutier said she has not yet met Gore, but she offered an invitation for him to visit her in the Canadian Arctic. …-

I have also noticed a weather warning for Toronto -25C
I was out running this morning near Toronto. It was colder then than it is now and there’s no problem. Thanks for the link.
I just voted. Thanks, Major_Tom.
climate change causing plate tectonics and now climate change affecting distribution of welfare cheques- when will it stop. tell it to stop.

To all of you that took the time to offer your views regarding my current dilemma, a big THANK YOU!
I cannot say I’m surprised at the response, because
I’ve gotten to realize that a great deal of talent abounds on this blog.
Again, a big THANKS to you all.
And, if Kate permits, and the situation becomes, shall we say “interesting” I’ll post the results here sometime in the future.
May (insert Diety of choice here) Bless you all!
Rattfuc-Out.
Roger, Rattfuc. You’re very welcome. Go get ’em and good luck!
Iranian Fauxtography Bust
At Iran’s Fars News Agency, LGF readers tipped me off to a blatant Photoshop fraud in an article claiming to have discovered US weapons in Iran: Terrorists Use US-Gifted Arsenals. (Beware. The Fars News site resizes your browser window without asking, and may attempt other more sneaky things.)
TEHRAN (Fars News Agency)- Following a Saturday report about the use of US manufactured weapons in the recent terrorist operations in Iran’s southeastern province of Sistan and Balouchestan, a security official provided FNA with a photograph of the said weaponry.
These arsenals have been confiscated during a raid on the hideout of a terrorist group known as Jondollah in the provincial capital city of Zahedan on Thursday.

Degrees of Freedom
The Small Wars Council has an interesting set of comments on the counterinsurgency campaign in Anbar. It raises several questions without quite answering them, but the questions themselves are valuable to consider, whether or not we know the answers. First: apparently the Anbar tribes have quit “playing both sides” and come down on the side of the US. What does that suggest about who tribes think is going to win? And why do they think that? Another commenter at Small Wars Council shrewdly understands, from the apparent progress in Anbar, that the correct interpretation of “changing the rules of engagement” doesn’t mean “taking the gloves off” but increasing the degrees of freedom that the commanders in the field are allowed to exercise. Mandatory severity may be just as damaging as compulsory leniency. Perhaps the real lesson of Anbar is to let men on the ground do what they think is right. But the real gem is buried in a link to the blog Talisman Gate, which relates how a Jihadi satellite TV station has gone from broadcasting Islamic Internet attack video to criticizing al-Qaeda. Talisman gates says: …-

Ratfuc: If you can’t get all the info you need before the film, don’t give up. Take all the steps that have been suggested, or all that you can. Does the Minister of Ed have a monthly newsletter,if so get on the mailing list.
Get copies of the school act, and as suggested, any policy and procedures manuals available. One question I ask is-Who sets the policy, and who impletments the procedures. These vary from teacher to teacher, school to school etc. Get other parents to help you, go in a group. In other words raise a lot of hell. You can always refuse to let your child attend, then fight the consequences, (theres Hollands word again)
Definetly, explain to your child what and why you are doing this for him/her.
In AB one thing boards, teachers etc don’t like is American curriculum and I think this movie is American.
In the US some states have banned it from the schools or at least some districts, counties etc.
My opinion of algore and his movie is, he is trying to get even with americans for rejecting him in 2000.
Notice the spin re the income trust thing, without it the libs would have won another 25-40 seats. Soon we will hear the media referring to PMSH as the illegal PM. Regardless, another 40 seats would have still resulted in a minority govt.
New poll at the g&m. Should there be a Feb stat holiday. 100% against. 1 vote. Me.
As for the ctv. 43% No, 24% not yet, 33% yes.
Where does the media get the idea that the majority of cdns have climate change as their top priority. Who are the 33% that vote yes in every poll, regardless of topic.
Dion and all the opposition might discover that over 60% of cdns are not worried too much about global warming, but I think most of them would like pollution reduced, like not dumping sewage in the ocean, cleaner air. Like the Clean air act.
Someone wants to bar leftist teachers from showing Al Gore*s film in the classroom.
That happens to be censorship.
It should be mandatory that when any film is shown to students advocating a certain view, an opposing film or lecture showing the opposing argument should also be presented.
Pros and cons of nuclear energy.
Pros and cons of McDonalds burgers and chips. [Moore]
Pros and cons of drinking / driving.
When only one side of an argument or view is shown in classrooms, education becomes mind programming by the teachers involved. = TG
