When women can’t win nomination the old fashioned way, enter the Liberal sugar-daddy;
Liberal Leader Stephane Dion is prepared to take “extraordinary measures” to boost the ranks of women candidates in the next election, including barring men from seeking nominations in some ridings.
During last year’s leadership race, Dion promised that under his watch at least a third of the party’s candidates in the next election would be women.
But campaign organizers have concluded that the ambitious goal will be impossible to reach without some intervention to secure nominations for female candidates.
This guy is just a gift that keeps on giving…

Truth is, Lyin’ Brian got the job for me.
I had, at that time, some 27 years experience in finance and related subjects. The dreaded GST was introduced and the Gummint needed some folks who knew what they were talking about. One of the qualifications needed when I got hired was at least 10 years business experience in the REAL world. I had it, was hired, and I must say I did a very good job for them. So far, so good, and it seemed to me that the qualifications requested were cogent and a good business decision on their part.
However, the PC crap reared it’s ugly head and us white guys were relegated to the back benches.
No regrets though. It is was it was.We continue to let them control our lives through all these social engineered programs.
I’m retired now and yes, receive a Gummint pension.

I just cannot see how these people who say they speak for Women.
Cannot see how preferential treatment or forced mandates for inclusion will only belittle these Women in the end.
No one likes a queue jumper. Basing policies on anything but merit cheapens the very thing you want those individuals to achieve. So does lowering standards for any profession.
Self reliance, achievement by struggle, winning by hard work. Who learns anything by getting it free? Least of all , gets respect when their the teachers pet for no reason but ideological ones.
I am not a Women but I can’t see them feeling any different watching someone get a free pass, while those who strive to do their best are discounted.
What happens to personnel achievement in the long run? When it comes about from gender, sexual preference, or race. Not because of excellence or hard work. Where is the reward when its arbitrary & subjective?
Of course the lefties don’t give a fig. Its all nepotism, or back scathing to them.
My feeling is they actually think being smart or being an over achiever is looked down on. They worship the slug& its habits. They will end up like one as well socially.
Respect & honors are earned. No law on the planet can make one something their not. Nor force others to not to react scathingly to your lowering of the bar, candidates. If elected they will be seen as just dions puppets of convenience. Men like him think the world is their private urinal.

Revnant Dream…I’m a woman and I agree with you…this little Affirmative Action move is so anti-woman, the so-called progressives won’t see it ’til comes back to bite them! If any of the Lib women candidates take this without a wimper they are toast. Shouldn’t a person acheive the nomination by their own merit? The fems of SWC who whine about the cutbacks should be screaming about this insult. If they had any guts they would tell Dion to back off and say they would rather ‘get there’ on their own merits and qualifications.
Remember the old C&W song ‘Stand by Your Man” Feminists hated it. But right after Dion was was crowned, all his little girlies stood ‘behind’ him in the HoC for a press conference…new instructions for women that sign up for Lib party. “Stand Behind the Man…and he’ll do the job for you…”

Most(can’t say all) women in the HoC(any party) today are there first because they want to be, and second because they worked hard and deserve to be there.
We’ve just learned that a very well qualified woman trying to run for the nomination of the Conservatives in the BC federal riding of Surrey North Delta has been told by party brass that her aplication was deficient in one article which seemed to get lost just before the 5 p.m. deadline. Her name is Heather Stilwell, a pro-family social conservative who has been a school board member for more than 16 years and is eminently qualified. So, are the Conservatives looking to prevent another Diane Haskett debacle?
Democracy doesn’t work for the Libs. How does banning candidates based on gender work? I’d be all for it if he’d ban men from running in his own riding! See how he likes it.

yes, one has to love the dipper/moonbat/librano version of equality….I was raised in welfare housing, relied on the sally ann for xmas dinner and winter clothing…joined the army at 17….worked my ass off to get my tech papers….get hired by a utility…..ended up suffering under zimbobrae’s equity legislation, which promptly put me on the unemployment line…I was born into poverty, yet the dippers stated that I somehow had an advantage over women and minorities….what a f#$%ing joke….btw, the women(3 in total to replace me)they replaced me with could not do the job, and the position was eventually contracted out to get around the equity legislation
In stead of the Librano Party Brass hand-picking their candidates to ensure an equitable male/female distribution, why not go to a lottery select process? Makes just as much sense. That way, other percieved under-represented disadvantaged groups would have an equal chance of being selected as well. Hell, in the case of a lotto process, there would likely be a marked improvement in the quality of LPC candidates.

I have the solution for more women liberal mps and it comes right out of Turner’s mouth. After the next election and elected liberals do not have 1/3 of their elected members women, the PMSH should immediately call for a number of male liberals to resign and dion can appoint women to take their place. This can be done with or without by-elections, that they probably wouldn’t win. We could have a national poll as to which liberals should resign to make way for more competant women. Travers actually said the conservatives are back in their game, and the re-run ads are having a negative effect on liberals in Ontario. LIBERALS MAY DISCOURAGE SOME MEN FROM RUNNING
Men may be discouraged from running for the Liberals in some ridings but they won’t be barred or prevented, says Linda Julien, the Montreal lawyer who is recruiting women for nomination contests for the next election.
“However, I can say that it is quite likely that we will perhaps encourage certain people more than others. All we’re doing is leveling the playing field,” Julien added. “At this point there have been no specific measures taken in terms of eliminating any type of candidates except those who would not qualify obviously under criminal investigation or something like that. So radical measures have not been taken. ”
The party needs 103 candidates to hit Dion’s target. Some of 21 current female Liberal MPs are not running again.
Julien said there are some ridings where more than one qualified female candidate wants to run and “we are pulling our hair out” because there will be other ridings with no female candidate or a weaker candidate….-

For the liberals to be fair, 1/3 of all candidates in each province must be female. And each riding should have two candidates to vote for, a male and a female. That would allow the people to have a voice. Dion might have wanted to say he wanted to give women an equal chance at being nominated, and if nominated an equal chance to be defeated. His message to me is that he wants to try and get rid of all the old guard still sitting as mps. Or would that be getting rid of anyone there during all the scandal and theft.
Anyone got any friends in printing press plants to see how many brochures ect are in the works for the libs. Watch those ad agencies in Quebec.
On Thursday morning Harper should call an election for 36 days from then. Catch those libs still out trying to find women. In some places men looking for women are called Johns and you know the word for the women.

He represented the people who sent him to Ottawa to do just that; Heather Stilwell is more than capable to represent the people in Surrey because she’s been doing that in the school board for more than sixteen years. About 12-13 yrs ago a friend of mine and a cousin of the girl I was dating both had applied for a summer job with the RCMP. It was one of those jobs that you needed to be enrolled in university to get.

Jessica: Well I was there the same day. No I did not check the box but when he saw me he was shocked! (Jess is caucasion). He said he was sorry but they were looking for visable minorities for the job. My last name is Cree. That was the only thing on my application that got me an interview. LOL
